  1. I think it's a great idea, and something I think the park needs. It doesn't look that far, to me.
  2. 2011! Good job! Topgun1993 has revived his excellent thread from last year...so I'm going to suspend this one...I look forward to seeing his posts every day, just like Standbyme's great thread. I thank everyone for participating, and hopefully I was able to somewhat entertain you in between those two excellent topics! Happy 2012!!
  3. Lol...I even picked up on that one...thought that was a pretty good coincidence!
  4. Just got a new computer this week, so I was finally able to put a video together from this trip! Enjoy! <iframe width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ad69ZOv-RcI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
  5. I would have thought that WS would have affected the skyline at the vantage point at which many visitors snap a photo (Kings Island's "trademark" spot?). However, at that point, which you can see in the bottom pic I posted, WS "disappears". Seems like too big of a coincidence to me...and a placement that would have taken a bit of planning to execute correctly.
  6. 2008... And it was June! Today's pic:
  7. http://www.thepostga...roller-coasters I have visited KI with friends similar to this...fearless in some ways, but not on amusement park rides!
  8. Pure genius? (you may have already figured this out). I'm going to let the pics speak for themselves...
  9. 1992 was indeed the correct year for yesterday's pic! That was Kings Island's 20th anniversary. Now for today's pic:
  10. I'm starting a thread that I'm going to attempt to update daily (or as close as possible) until Kings Island opens for the season. I, as I know a lot of you did, really enjoyed standbyme's 1974 thread. I'm in no way trying to compete (which I'm not sure is possible!), but just give everybody something to look at on a regular basis. I'm also wanting to test your knowledge of KI history! Each time I post, I'll feature a pic from my own library, and your job is to figure out the year it's from. Feel free to post with guesses or comments. If you prefer to just think on your own and wait for the answer without posting, that's fine, too. On a lot of pics, I may add some mild vintage effects to it, to try and make it a little trickier. Some pics may have some obvious hints, and some may not. After today, I'll begin new posts with the year that the previous post's pic was from. Here's the first pic...what's the year?
  11. Sounds like can get ready for a new attraction...Cedar Fair: The Experience...who all is in the queue?
  12. I would LOVE to see a smaller, relaxing, family-friendly new ride come to Kings Island.
  13. You know, unbelievably, this will be Diamondback's fourth season....
  14. ^The one at KD looks fantastic!
  15. I think that your average visitor has no idea of what type of ride is inside that big "box". I think the park could install an outdoor topspin, and most people would see it as an all new ride.
  16. I was thinking along the same lines with the water ride idea.
  17. The last time I rode tr:tr was in spring of '07...the sound wasn't working...which turned out to be a sign of what was down the road. For me, it made the ride not worth waiting in line for...which was a shame because for a few years, I think that was actually my favorite thing at KI.
  18. I am really surprised that KIC has not just become a Facebook page. I would hate to see that, though, as I am one of the few humans on Earth that doesn't have a Facebook account.
  19. I just downloaded the "photo toaster" app on my iPad...there's a setting called "instamatic"... I thought it was a really cool effect, as well. Here's a comparison with a couple of standbyme's pics:
  20. Well, since we're out of pics, I guess the best we could do is try to get 2011 to look like 1974....
  21. Kings Island's motto in the '70's and '80's must have been to "just add water". It's too bad it's went by the wayside, but makes sense due to the various reasons mentioned in these forums. Did they not foresee those problems initially, or was it just too cool looking?
  22. Actually, what you did makes perfect sense...the other station doesn't exist...
