I still can't believe that any Kings Island management team allowed the opportunity of having an "in-house" lodging facility slip through their fingers. It must have lost a lot of money.

Thanks for sharing...if I was a little closer, I'd go take a sneak peek at the park every once in awhile. I can't believe I'm asking this, but I have totally lost track...how long has it been since SoB operated? -
I like the classic sketching style of at postcard, kind of like from the opening year's guide...would be neat to see new attractions sketched like that.

I can't believe that Diamondback is almost as old as Vortex was when I first rode it!

It's a shame that, for many visitors (it seems), International Street is just something they run through to get to the rides.

I really liked KC and hated to see it go. It was one of those rides that made Kings Island Kings Island, if you know what I mean.

My best memory of Vortex is seeing it for the first time in 1992...and not riding it until the next year. Took that long to work up my nerve! Luckily I have a photo keychain from that ride as a momento (in black and white, of course!).

Wow, thanks for posting these...1999 was one of only a couple years I've missed in the last 20, so I didn't get to see construction. However, I did ride it in May of 2000! It looks so different to see King Cobra in the pics! Does anyone else think the footers resemble a cemetary?

...check the webcams during the off-season, including Christmas Day, just to see what Kings Island looks like on Christmas Day!

I am sure I am in the extreme minority...I would prefer a ride on AE or Congo Falls over a ride on any flat at KI...and of all of the flat rides, VF and Zephyr are my favorites.
