I doubt the timing of this meeting (as far as the season is concerned) is really an issue. However, I will point out that Tax Man opened discussions of the admissions tax at the last council meeting... which was something that was NOT originally scheduled to be discussed. He's trying to sneak this in quietly... at your expense. ...and while no one that will actually be footing the bill is around...

I assume it's no accident this is being brought up at a meeting after the season is over... I'm just picturing a mob of sweaty, tired, fanny-pack wielding park patrons/enthusiasts catching wind of this and heading straight to this meeting after pulling out of the Gold Pass lot.

That would be one interesting off-season blues party! And now that we know that some people at park believes that the "C" in KIC stands for complainers, i'm surprised that the park hasn't offered to bus all of us members over to the meeting...who knows what we could accomplish! I can smell the buffet at the International Street Restaurant pep rally already!

Wild Thornberry's River Adventure!

Sorry, yes, this is what I meant.

Wow, in 2010 no one will know the names of any of the rides in the park!
-
By next year they'll probably be working for peanuts.

GREAT trip report! Thanks for sharing the great photos. Even though I was at the park on September 25, it seems like so long ago already!

I can't believe it! Wasn't I just reading TRs about the first rides on Diamondback? Wow, that was fast!

Wow, that's the most interesting post I've read in a long time. Thanks. I'm trying to imagine the "movierail" concept.

Maybe the spirits of all the old zoo animals that used to roam that area of the park have conspired to make SoB unsuccessful. Maybe they don't like it being on their 'sacred' land.

Wow, I forgot about those bracelets. A girl I was dating and I got one of those bracelets at KI that year. Some friends I was with did. They had several people in it, so it wasn't quite as...overpriced.

Let's see... Neat jobs I would like to do just for the fun of it.... #96...caricature artist at Kings Island.

One would think that anything to do with KI has been covered at one point on KIC. However, do you ever have a caricature done of yourself or someone in your family? Have your name made out of wood at the wood shop? Do you ever play games in the arcade? Have an antique photo done? Ride the Zephyr? That's all I can think of for now!

This seems like an awfully interesting statement... http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/a...0107/910160339/

It's got to be the first visit of the season. This year it wasn't until June 15. After reading KIC all winter (and attending the off-season blues party!), looking at pics on the Internet, and feeling like it's been years since I've been to the park, the drive there, parking, and walking through the gates is my best memory of the park every year.

^Yes, that's true. Good point.

That's one thing I love about those rides-mostly The Beast and Adventure Express-the fact that you can't see the ride easily from the queue. I can only imagine how thrilling and suspenseful it was to ride The Beast in its early years. It seems to be an art that's completely lost now.

I got a...I think some call it a zen ride...on Flight Deck on the 25th. It was fun, but a little eerie!

If You Had Creative Control Over Haunt, What Would You Do?
KIfan73 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island
I like to go to Kings Island for the rides, and the other "normal" things that are there the rest of the year. I like the fog and the music, but I could completely do without all the other mazes and the "scaracters". I would like to see more festive food-maybe like all of the pumpkin stuff you can find at the Circleville Pumpkin show. Mostly, I just like that the park is open for another month or so. I wish some sort of Winterfest would come back so I could visit even later in the year. -
Lucky for me, they didn't advertise they'd extend it until next weekend. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have ended up at the park on opening night for HH.
