After looking at the results of the poll I started, it looks like many people on here live 25 miles or less from the park. Did any of you actually grow up in that close vicinity of Kings Island? If you did, what was it like? I'm 36 and live nearly two hours from there, and I still get excited when I get close to the park (I grew up near a skating rink, and thought that was exciting when I was a kid!). Was it no big deal to always drive past it, or did you freak out all the time?

Has anyone else here noticed a yellow lip balm container on the roof of the return shed of The Beast? You can see it as you climb the first lift. It has been there for years...

Whenever I hear Rihanna, specifically "Umbrella" or whatever it's called, it puts me right at KI. The strange thing is that I don't think I've ever heard that song in the park itself.

FWIW, the average high temp for the last 10 years in the Kings Island area on January 21 has been 33 degrees with an average of .034" of rain. For those of you in the area, how does that compare with the actual weather today?

Now that we're less than 90 days from the opening day of Kings Island's 2010 season, I thought I'd take a look at what the weather may be like on April 17. I've always thought that AT was a nice, relaxing, air-conditioned getaway-if they would just operate it correctly. I don't even really care what's being shown (Days of Thunder was really neat when it was new, though). I sat through Spongebob without any 3d glasses last season.

^ I had never seen either one of those rides, so when we came across these pics on Christmas night, I couldn't believe it! That is hard to believe that attendance is lower now than back then. The lines/crowds had to have been huge!
