  1. Great pics. Thanks for sharing!
  2. I still think it would be great to take off sprinting at the drop of the rope...and loudly celebrate being part of the first cycle of the day on...Viking Fury.
  3. Thanks a lot for posting that! 12 days after that video was shot I made my first visit to the park in 17 years with my aunt, uncle, and their two kids. I wish so much we had made it over to that side of the park that day to ride the monorail.
  4. Since this thread is about Opening Day 2009, was anybody else on here part of this on Opening Day 2008? That was the first time I have ever visited the park on opening day. What a great day it was.
  5. People driving too slow are annoying. However, I find people that speed even more annoying. They can inflict much more damage than the slow vehicle.
  6. That would be easy. One is clearly more thrilling than the other.
  7. A great new app for the iPhone would be a webcam feed from the front grille of the car.
  8. Hopefully, this isn't a sign of getting old, but the thought of looking at the completed DB is almost as (maybe more?) exciting than the thought of riding it.
  9. In no way do I think that KI won't be ready for opening day. But, by looking at pics like the one below, I can't help but think that they have an extraordinary amount of work to do in 8 weeks. Not just to DB, but lots of the area around it (including The Beast's entry).
  10. I couldn't say it any better myself.
  11. If they just keep letting Flight Deck go, its "theming" will actually match up pretty well with its queue-mate, Club Blood.
  12. Some kind of upgrade to Wings would seem to make sense, given its proximity to Diamondback's queue. It seems logical that there would be a sizeable increase in foot traffic to that area.
  13. For those of you that have ridden coasters similar to Diamondback, how are their "whiplash" dynamics compared to say, Vortex or Adventure Express?
  14. Great report...its almost like I was just there...lol Thanks for taking my pic!
  15. I'd have to say Antique Cars. I rode Enchanted Voyage and Lion Country Safari, but don't remember it...don't know if that counts as "missing".
  16. I really appreciate your doing this presentation. I find the whole transition from Coney to KI really interesting. I'm looking forward to it!
  17. ...or your tongues, even if you're triple-dog dared.
  18. Jeez...the next thing you know they'll be letting us visit restricted areas of the park, let us hang out when they're not open, and hob-nob with the park executives. ..oh wait...
  19. Has The Beast Canyon been there since The Beast opened?
  20. I think that the entrance to The Beast is a place that, especially if you're a member of this forum, you've spent a lot of time. Some people remember The Beast from when it was new, and may have grown up riding it. Despite all the excitement around Diamondback, I'm sure there's a lot of us interested in lots of different parts of KI for the new season, especially the entrance to The Beast.
  21. I've always thought it would be neat to work at KI. Even now, even though I'm in my 30's, I've thought about working there during the summer (I'm a teacher), but I couldn't make enough to pay for the gas there and back.
  22. and for just one more, I couldn't leave out Rivertown, of course
  23. ^Thanks! I hope to get a chance to talk to you at the park on the 31st!
  24. And here is Action Zone/Lion Country Safari:
  25. I tried my hand at "blending" the '72 pic, and one from the present
