  1. The general public does not understand the intense dynamics of a B&M hyper. They think it's just another coaster and that their phone will be fine in their pocket. It was the first and only coaster to ever OPEN MY SNAP POCKETS and nearly eat my car keys and my cell phone.. reason why I went shopping specifically for pants and capris with button and/or zipper pockets, and a drawstring bag. I also have a cloth zipper change purse (I put my season pass, debit card, cash, etc. in it) that has stayed put in my pocket even on TTD and Voyage.
  2. At one point during the day, I had counted NINE FLIP FLOPS on THE BRAKE RUN. Also saw someone's hat fly off after the second hill. Maybe DB was just hungry on Sunday.
  3. Those particular flip flops I was wearing were a pair of my basic Old Navy flip flops, the ones you can get in a billion different colors for like $2. My right one doesn't fit properly thanks to people not watching where they are going and stepping all over my feet.. I believe I had them dangling off my feet a bit due to blisters forming on my feet toward the end of the day. They went in the trash as soon as I got home from the park.
  4. I never had a problem before! I think it was just telling me to shut up about other people's flip flops. Besides, I have way too much fun touching my toes on the first drop instead of holding onto the restraint like a sissy.
  5. I ended up stuffing myself to the point where my stomach was sore at the last Backyard BBQ. I was impressed as well. Their food and service are definitely worth mentioning.
  6. So today, Tom (Tom76257) and I were in row 14, me on the left and Tom on the right. Ashley (Ashers) and Kyle (kjkjkj) were in row 15, Ash on the left and Kyle on the right. On the second hill after the MCBR right before we hit the helix, my right flip flop flew off and behind me. I thought it was gone forever. I yelled, "MY FLIP FLOP!!!!!" and started laughing uncontrollably at the irony of the situation (all day I'd been wondering out loud how people manage to lose flip flops on DB, especially on the freaking brake run). I heard Ash say, "I'm disappointed in you, Angie" A few moments later, I turned around and was shocked to see my flip flop on the floor of the seat behind me. Apparently it flew back to the right, TEETERED ON THE RIGHT EDGE OF THE TRAIN, then flew back around Kyle between the seats and landed under Ash's feet.. she managed to catch it under her foot, held it there until we were back in the station, and handed it back to me as we exited the station.. how it stayed on the train through the helix and the splashdown, I'll never know. I just had to share that with everyone.
  7. lol, love the username.

  8. LOL! I think a Cartoon Network theme would be interesting and kind of cool.
  9. I agree 100 percent. I second that agreement.
  10. It takes a lot to put a twist in my stomach, but that did it. Sorry, I just want to make it clear that I have strong feelings on this topic, and I'm not just trying to start a fight. I have a high opinion of you, and I love the stories that you share. I just don't want you getting worked up at me, because we may have different opinions on this one. I'm not worked up at you. I have a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later.. it's quite possibly my biggest fault. I read what you posted and I thought to myself, "Yikes!" I know you aren't trying to start anything.. you're all right.
  11. It takes a lot to put a twist in my stomach, but that did it.
  12. How do some people know right now that it will be lame? That is all I am wondering. I'm just trying to stay positive and have faith in the park, as we all should.
  13. So are the parents on here pretty much saying that it is impossible to teach their children how to adapt to change? I don't understand.
  14. BAHAHA!! I can totally see you doing that!
  15. I see that too. I've been to CP several times last year and this year, and kids get so excited when they see Snoopy. They run over and hug him and the parents take a picture, it is so cute. A couple of times this year, they've had Peanuts characters walking around, and they had CROWDS of kids around them. Realize from this that next year, regular visitors to CP (and other parks with Peanuts theming) that have children and love Snoopy will be thrilled to see it at KI too.
  16. My thoughts exactly. I hate it when people are so quick to judge. Two of these coasters haven't even been built and people are already going ballistic about how badly they will suck.. are you guys for real?
  17. Change isn't always bad. I believe that if they don't move or remove any rides within Nick U, and do the theming right (and I trust that they will), the Golden Ticket Award will continue on. I personally can't wait to see the changes. We trusted them with Diamondback and Rivertown. Why can't we have faith in them to retheme our kids area of the park? Kings Island has worked so hard to give us so much.. the retheme has barely been announced and everyone is already going into detail about what a huge disappointment it will be? I mean, come on now, guys..
  18. I must rant about a major peeve of mine. TRASH GOES IN THE TRASH CANS, INCLUDING GUM. Gum AND trash DOES NOT go on coaster trains, in queues, is not used to decorate queues, does not go in splashdowns, on the midway, or on signs, or anywhere else but GUESS WHERE?.. IN THE TRASH CAN. It takes all of what, ONE second to throw trash away? There are 946 billion trash cans in the park.. use them for the trash! IT GOES IN THE TRASH, IN THE TRASH, IN THE FREAKING TRASH!!
  19. Which is why people should not vote in this poll unless they have ridden both Racer and Blue Streak.. it just doesn't make any sense to do otherwise.
  20. LOL sorry I never rode with you guys! It seemed like every time I was almost to the station, you guys were going out the exit! It was a good day. The first time I rode Mav, it was posted at an hour. Second time was posted at 3/4 hour. I knew it was going to be a good day seeing as how Mav's line EASILY reaches 2 hours plus on any given day of the season.
  21. Then how do they get groceries? I can't say I blame them, but if you pick the right days to go, you will find little or no lines.. yes, even at Cedar Point. People don't seem to want to go to CP when it's cold or when there are storms in the forecast.. I go anyway, and it's totally worth only waiting 5 minutes to ride Millennium Force.
  22. I realized it's been a while since I posted a PTR, so here you go! I've been meaning to post this. I left my house for Cedar Point around 5:15 am. I stopped at a gas station about halfway because I was thirsty, and my cherry Amp wasn't cutting it. I opened my bottle of Sobe green tea and the underside of the lid read BIZARRO WORLD.. I nearly died laughing at the irony. I got to the park around 8:30 am. I was thrilled to see that I was one of three cars in the GP lot (my plan was to walk around to the marina entrance, I REALLY missed my Millie!). The forecast was calling for scattered thunderstorms, but I know as any enthusiast does that this is one of the best times to go to an amusement park! I'm always one of the first to arrive. It would be nice if it could be like that all day! I took the blue path around to the marina gate to see that I was maybe 1 of 25 people there. I was ecstatic about getting on Millie's first train of the day. At the "rope drop," I jogged/ran with everyone else and didn't stop until I hit Millie's entrance. I was person number 13 to enter the queue for the day. I was going to get on the first train until I saw that there was only a 3 train wait for seat 1:1. I went for it. Millie's front seat is easily an hour wait all day after the ROTB, no joke. Front seat on Millie is phenomenal, I love it.. and of course I leaned into the first drop, and grayed out a little! I LOVE MILLENNIUM FORCE! I ran back and rode 2 more times, and decided to see what the wait was for Dragster since it was only 9:45. I hadn't seen it run a train all morning, and the line was from the entrance all the way back almost to the loading station.. I said screw it and went to wait for Magnum. My friend James was at Maggie's entrance, and the RIDE CLOSED sign was at the front, and he was directing people away. Apparently Maggie had a dysfunction, and it was down too. I chatted with James for a bit, and he said he'd text me when it was back up and running. Slightly frustrated at the ride fails, I decided to head for my beloved Raptor. I hit Space Shot side of Power Tower on the way, and it was a total walk on. I went to Raptor and it was posted at 1/2 hour wait since the 10 am rope had dropped and the GP was rolling in. I waited all of 10 minutes. I had worn a thermal shirt under my t-shirt and was severely regretting it so I managed to pull it off without flashing anyone. I got a few comments from people behind me, but I really didn't care.. I was very uncomfortable. I saw my friend Schuyler and he was surprised and happy to see me. After Raptor, I went to visit my friend Scott on Blue Streak. Old Blue actually had a line.. I waited about 15 minutes to ride. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that appreciates this feisty little old woodie that sits in Raptor's shadow. Scott and I talked for a few minutes about how he had to rush home that night to go to his sister's wedding tomorrow. I went out to my car to ditch my long sleeve shirt, and apply more sunscreen. I saw about 8 buses, and the main lot was around half full. I decided at this point that it might not be a bad day. I rode maXair and Wicked Twister, and then wandered all the way to the back of the park to see if TTD, Magnum, or Skyscraper were running.. ALL of them were down. I debated on Maverick, then decided I wanted a ride on Skyhawk so I rode that, and then got something everybody has been telling me to get. I treated myself to a waffle cone filled with chocolate vanilla swirl frozen custard.. OH MY GOSH, YUM-MY. 10 times better than ice cream, seriously, that stuff was really really good. Thanks to whoever told me to try it! I remembered someone telling me that the signed Magnum banners were in Town Hall, so I went on a mission to find them. I found it.. my sig is in the middle banner! Check it out! Remembering how last year's Millie ERT turned out, I decided to wait the hour for Maverick. I ended up dribbling custard down my shirt, my capris, and even on my leg, it was melting so fast.. good thing I wore dark clothes! Waiting in line for seat 1:1!! After Maverick, I met up with my friends Katrina, Rachel, Amy, and Garrett. Katrina and Garrett went to TGI Fridays to get food, so I rode Magnum with Amy and Rachel. We exited the ride to see their dad waiting for them (Amy and Rachel are sisters), and he wasn't happy.. Amy had stuck about $30 in her pocket and when she got off CCMR, it was gone. He was maaaaad. I wanted to ride a spinning ride I could handle, so Amy, Rachel, their brother Kevin and I all headed for Witches Wheel. We walked way out to maXair, and we were next in line when they closed the ride due to inclement weather. I checked the radar on my phone to see a giant red storm heading straight for Cedar Point. Right before the torrential rain, lightning and crazy thunder hit. We ducked for cover under Space Spiral's stairs (which probably wasn't the smartest idea I've ever had!), and the storm lasted maybe 5-10 minutes before the sun came out again. We met back up with Katrina and Garrett, and the 6 of us headed toward the back of the park because everyone wanted to ride Maverick. Healthy water in Mav's queue. *green pukey face* LOL ewww The 5 of them decided they wanted to ride water rides, so I watched all of their stuff while they rode Snake River Falls and Thunder Canyon. We all were hungry, so we stopped for cheese fries and smoothies (not healthy, I know, but IT WAS GOOD!! haha). Then the 6 of us rode Maverick, Cadillac Motor Cars (where we caused a traffic jam LOL), and then rode the CP/LE railroad train back to Frontier Trail.. to ride none other but Millennium Force! Millie in your face, from the train. It was here that half the group split up, and my friend Ben was calling me to meet up with me. I hadn't seen him since CP opening day so I said goodbye to everyone and met up with Ben at Magnum. He yelled SHOTGUN and ran for seat 1:1.. OH MY GOD, OW. I got stapled, and I mean SMASHED into the seat by the crappy lap bar. The airtime hills hurt so badly that I was literally yelling out in pain. My ride photo was epic.. you could obviously see that I was NOT enjoying the ride. I don't have the pic, but wow, that really seriously hurt. We walked back to the rear of the park, where I stopped at this obscure little gift and candy shop way back by Mean Streak and found tropical Skittles. I have not been able to find those anywhere, so I bought 2 bags. Ben kept trying to "hold them for me".. haha, I wasn't about to have that. MY Skittles! We took CP/LE back to Frontier Trail (again haha) where I got another sweet pic of Millie. We rode Millie together, and then I was forced to ride in the rear seat of Mantis (can you say ouch?), where I finally met my friend Tony that works on the ride. I didn't have much time left before Maverick ERT was supposed to start, so Ben and I hit the Turbo Drop side of Power Tower. WOW I forgot how badly that side scares me. It jolts when it stops at the top, and you can't hear the air compressor so you have NO IDEA when you're going to get shot down.. and at night, it was 10x worse. I was literally flipping out.. I HATE THAT SIDE OF POWER TOWER!!!!!!! Ben and I said goodbye, and I walked back to Mav for ERT night! You do not realize the true joy of being a platinum passholder until you are waiting in line for a ride when 95% of everyone else is going out the exit! I got to the station at 10:10 to see Tony Clark running the control booth! I jumped in row 3, and my other 4 rides were in row 6. WOW.. row 6 at night was COMPLETELY insane and out of control.. I couldn't get enough! ERT ended at 11:10. I took some photos walking back to the main exit. Dragster at night. Power Tower at night. I left the park around 11:30 pm. As I was walking through the park, I was entertained by the fact that it was so late, employee and CP police cars were driving through the midway. And I'm always one of the last to leave.. this pic was taken at 11:48 pm. I had a great time, seeing so many friends I hadn't seen in months, meeting new friends, riding with them, and getting to be a part of Maverick ride night. TOTALLY worth every second of the 3 hour drive. Ride count: Maverick - 7 Millennium Force - 5 Magnum XL200 - 2 Power Tower - 2 Cedar Point/Lake Erie Railroad - 2 maXair - 1 Witches Wheel - 1 Cadillac Motor Cars - 1 Mantis - 1 Raptor - 1 Blue Streak - 1 Skyhawk - 1 Wicked Twister - 1
  23. I plan on going to not only Kings Island and Cedar Point next year.. but hopefully Kings Dominion, Carowinds, and Canada's Wonderland too. 5 parks, 1 pass? Now THAT'S priceless.
  24. I don't have a problem. I'm annoyed with the fact that you are finding every reason to blow a gasket at everything everyone posts, even in my apology note. That note was sincere. Many people on here have met me and know me, and they know for a fact that I meant every word. Is it really necessary to be this angry at the world? The only person's day you're ruining is your own, so calm down.
