  1. I've actually told off park guests for getting rude with park employees. A guest was arguing with the ride op at the entrance to Millennium Force because she didn't want to put her bag in a locker (there are no drop bins in the ride station). I clearly saw the ride op getting upset because the girl just kept arguing.. so as I walked by, I told the girl not to get mad at the ride op for doing her job and kept walking. Next time the ride op saw me, she smiled and we had a short conversation about how unbelievable some people can be. Many of the employees work open to close in all weather conditions on barely a few hours of sleep, and I often see them tired or looking like they are going to faint. Please do not make their jobs even harder than they already are.
  2. Oh for pete's sake.. all this arguing is so 5 minutes ago. Chill out and have your "mine's bigger" scuffles somewhere else other than KICentral, please and thank you. Anyway, BACK ON TOPIC, Ryan likes throwing out vague clues, because that's what he does. And it works, because it gets us excited for whatever it is! Any more details, or are you going to continue to torture us?
  3. I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but what is your favorite noise Diamondback makes, whether it's loud or quiet? My favorite sound is that loud, mean, goosebump-inducing classic B&M roar when it goes down the first drop and over the second hill. I also love it when the train makes that rattle noise going up the lift hill.
  4. I made whats in bold my quote on facebook. Very very very true! Thank you! I'm glad at least one person understands what I mean, instead of twisting my words around and then blowing a gasket at me. I'm amused at the large amount of people who can't just enjoy coasters.. they have to be negative, nitpicky, and make everything an argument.. the only person's day they're ruining is their own, so IMO they need to take an extra strength chill pill and just enjoy life.
  5. I am sitting here dying with laughter at all the people on this board who bash coaster after coaster and then have the nerve to call themselves enthusiasts. If you find something wrong with every coaster in existence and even get to the point where you refuse to ride certain things just because it's an Intamin, Vekoma, etc.. guess what? You are NOT an enthusiast.. you are a spoiled brat. Read my sig.. true enthusiasts don't sit around with their nose in the air, bashing coasters.. true enthusiasts RIDE. /rant
  6. As short of a ride as Skyhawk is, swinging upward 125 feet at 60 mph really pulls at your gut. I like the ride.. in fact, I just rode it yesterday
  7. Honestly: As much as I LOVE Voyage and Diamondback, and how they overtake Millie as far as ride experience (except for the fact that Millie's first drop is a gut wrenching hell that has yet to be topped by any coaster I've ridden, and has no trims or MCBR to slow it down or ruin it), Millie has a special place in my heart for many reasons. It always has and it always will, and that is why I get so angry when so-called enthusiasts start bashing it. So even if 305 turns out to be a better ride, it will never take Millie's place in my heart.. no coaster ever will!
  8. i love your avatar!! voyage is the shiz.

  9. That thing looks delicious. I will DEFINITELY be making at least one trip down to Kings Dominion next year.
  10. I am glad someone agrees with me on this whole issue. Thank you for backing me up.

  12. I couldn't agree with you more. I have been trying to get that point across in several other threads.. I do not like what is happening to KIC. Not one bit.
  13. The main reasons a coaster is torn down is: because it is a maintenance nightmare, they fall into disrepair, or it poses a danger to the riders.. not because they don't fit everyone's idea of a fun ride. If that was true, we could all kiss amusement parks goodbye, because every ride at Kings Island has its share of people who don't like it.
  14. I have to raise my eyebrows at that, especially after the SoB threads. Again, forgive me if I'm crossing lines. David, you're not crossing any lines. You seem to be one of the few people posting in this topic who has an intelligent perspective about what is going on. IMO, it's welcomed and appreciated.. too many people here are just getting angry and typing without thinking first.
  15. That was almost Mountain Dew all over my screen, goober ilu
  16. BE NICE TO MY RACHEL!! *punches you yet again*
  17. I love the DB crew! They always have so much fun with the riders, and are friendly! They score serious points with me. Outside of KI, Maverick's crew at CP are great. There is a girl with a pixie haircut (don't know her name) but she has had people busting a gut in hysterical laughter at some of the things she says on the mic. Magnum's and Millie's crew joke around and play games a lot too while on the mic. It's very entertaining. One of my worst peeves at a park is rude employees. It sticks in my mind for a very long time when someone who works at an amusement park is rude to me. The guest experience should be top priority.
  18. Yes.. and Raven at Holiday World, Blue Streak at Cedar Point, and yes, even Teddy Bear at Stricker's Grove. LOL I realized what I said and edited my post, but you beat me to it!
  19. I just don't think it was logical to build a wooden coaster of such an extreme height. I feel that SOB was built for record breaking purposes only, and not for comfort of its riders. SOB, as beautiful of a structure as it is, hurts to ride. Coasters can be great without reaching staggering heights (I realize how hypocritical this sounds, coming from me! ). A great example of this is Maverick at Cedar Point. The first hill is only 105 feet tall, yet it is a favorite of many.
  20. hey thanks for backing me up on the whole dirty splashdown issue. some people are really being immature about it.

  21. I noticed that the Diamondback air horns seem to be an "all clear" signal for the whole park when rides are down due to bad weather. When I went with my dad on Tuesday, DB shut down a little before 4 pm because a severe storm was rolling in. Hardly any rides were running for a few hours. About half of the park had cleared out and the storm was finally passing when Dad and I were on the Eiffel Tower. We were looking all around the park to see no coasters running, and hardly any rides running. Then, out of the blue, we heard the Diamondback air horns and saw the first train going up the hill. Moments later, trains started going up on Beast, Vortex, and Racer, as if following DB's lead.
  22. if you want outstanding customer service, go to holiday world.. that place is an epic win. :)

  23. Every time I've gone to Stunt Crew Grill in Action Zone, my food has been made to cook, hot and fresh, and I get excellent customer service. ONE time, I got the hot dog meal and went to eat it.. the bun was hard as a rock. I took it up to one of the employees and politely showed her. She gasped, apologized to me repeatedly, and threw my entire plate in the trash. They remade ALL of my food fresh at no extra charge, apologizing the whole time, and gave me twice the fries I'd had in the first place. The cashier even apologized to me and it wasn't her fault. Now THAT is customer service.
