  1. A break?? From amusement parks?? My coaster withdrawal is so bad that I'll ride Son of Beast at this point. KI on May 1 is a maybe for me. Last time I went on math and science day, the park was jam packed with busloads of bratty line jumpers. It made for a frustrating day for my friend and I to the point where we left hours earlier than we had planned. I'm going to Holiwood Nights this year. Not sure exactly when I'm hitting up SFKK though, so I'll get back to you on that.

http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...0&hl=august 9 rides in 11 hours on a sunny Saturday with a performer at the park. Tara and I still had fun though. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...&hl=october 6 rides in 7.5 hours on a Haunt night.. I waited a freaking hour to ride Slingshot.
  3. Hey if you're a smart aleck, we'll get along just fine. You bet I will raise my bid. I'm: 1. a believer in giving to a great cause 2. who loves roller coasters 3. and is very competitive. I refuse to get knocked below that yellow line. I will be on one of those six trains.
  4. I just reread what I posted and realized how incredibly self centered that sounded. But it would still be a nice coincidence.
  5. Haha, I'm rider 192. Here's hoping it stays that way so I can be in the very rear of the train.. hey, it's nice to dream.
  6. You know you're an amusement park addict when you have to reorganize your wallet to make room for all of your season passes. edit: hey, post 946! That's the number I always use when I'm exaggerating something!
  7. I had a dream last night that I was walking down some muddy path to one of the haunted houses at KI. There were a bunch of creepy guys hanging out in the haunted house just staring at me, and two of them started following me so I freaked out and left. It was then that I realized I'd lost my cell phone in the haunted house so I went back to try and get it. I got lost and ended up in some suburban wasteland with my coworker Nichole, and we walked into this house that turned into a mazelike place where I found the old FOF trains.
  8. Every time I've gone to eat at KI's Stunt Crew Grill, the customer service has been top notch and my food has been hot and fresh. They have never once grabbed me a plate from under the light, they always go back in the kitchen and make it. The one time it wasn't fresh, they were extremely apologetic, threw out my whole plate and made me a fresh one with more fries than last time. I'm aware that some of you are probably thinking it's not "the nicest place to eat at KI" and refuse to eat anywhere else other than Wings.. well, I don't care if you're the most famous, cleanest and classiest restaurant in America. If the customer service sucks, it will be my last visit there.
  9. One of the first times I rode MF was at night during Halloweekends. We were going down the first drop, and dropped right into the fog. The tops of the hills and overbanked turns rose above the fog, so you kept diving in and out from above it. The coaster looked wicked awesome like that, and you couldn't see where you were going for half of the ride.. it was unreal.
  10. You know you're an addict in general when.. you're speeding through downtown Dayton on I75 with a smile on your face, because you keep getting bursts of airtime from all the bridge seam bumps.
  11. I thought I was the only one on KIC who ate at Stunt Crew Grill. * DQ has an awesome bacon cheddar burger.. or hit BK and get the Double Stacker (no, I'm not one of those prissy girls that watches every calorie, carb, additive, and grain of sugar/salt that goes into their mouth.. where's the fun in that?).
  12. Nice...I've never heard that term before, I like it. However, I prefer to think of myself more as an amusement park connoisseur. "Drifter" just has an unsavory ring to it. I prefer adrenaline-thirsty amusement park addict.
  13. I concur. Anyone who wasn't at CP on closing day can't really say anything. I thought I was going to freeze to death but I kept going because the lines were nonexistent all day.
  14. Same here. The purchase date on my renewal form says 9-7-2008.
  15. My first looping coaster was Vortex. It was also the first coaster I ever rode.
  16. I have some jeans similar to bell bottoms. I just can't believe I went out in public with my shirt tied in a knot, neon leggings, and a side ponytail.. whoever decided that was fashionable?
  17. Nice photos! Cool to see what the park was like before I knew it existed. But.. I feel so old now. Those were taken when I was 5 years old.. I curse myself for being born in the era of big hair and neon clothes.. and actually dressing that way when I was in grade school.
  18. haha I was one of those kids that would swing so high the chain would slack at the apex of the swing, and then jump off and end up with 946 cuts and bruises.
  19. You might be a KIC addict if.. you are taking a leisurely walk past the school playground and laugh to yourself, thinking how ridiculous it would be to do a PTR on it.
  20. I simply do not see how people don't get airtime on MF.. I always have. Oh well, the less people who want to ride it, that's less time I have to wait in line.
  21. Try riding MF in the very rear seat, you feel all the forces the coaster has to offer (and don't staple yourself, a lot of people do that and then don't experience much). I always get airtime on those two hills as well. I rode in the very rear, loosened my seatbelt a little and left a little space between myself and the bar. My butt left the seat for 3 straight seconds on the first drop, and left the seat on both airtime hills and the bunny hop.. good stuff. Are you sure you haven't tried WT in the second to last seat on the right? You get a completely unobstructed view looking straight down on the backward launches. Angie, just trying to help
  22. Intamin all the way. I love their Drop Towers and their roller coasters. B&M comes in a close second though.
  23. Ok, I have no idea who is replying to who with all the ^ and ^^ and ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ here.. what is that about? But I will confirm that was indeed very cold on CP closing day. I had to wear 2 long sleeved thermal shirts, a tshirt, a fleece hoodie, 2 pair of socks, and a pair of gloves to stay warm. My friend Bryan that worked on Skyscraper had to wear a hoodie, coat, and raincoat over his CP shirt to stay warm that day. I saw many others with scarves, knit hats, gloves, heavy coats, etc. 55 degrees in November (and in Sandusky) does not feel like springtime. With the wind off Lake Erie, it felt like it was about 20 degrees.
  24. Do not, do not, DO NOT go to Cedar Point on a Saturday (or Halloweekends) if you hate long lines. I can not stress that enough.. I went on a Halloweekends Saturday last year and I'm talking 1 hour wait for Corkscrew and Iron Dragon, 2 for MF, 2 for Raptor, and don't even get me started on Maverick's line. That PTR you read was likely my massive TR from when I went for 3 days. I went to CP 7 times last year and learned something about when to go. Sundays are the best day to go, especially when the next day is a school day, because the park starts clearing out around midday and you will be left with a light crowd. Sundays and weekdays aren't too bad no matter when you go. Avoid math and science days too, and check the calendar to make sure no huge events are going on before you plan your trip.. I learned that the hard way.
