Top Thrill Dragster Incident

You really have to ask that question? Rofl. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Gonna be fun watching it get stripped and painted. From what I heard it’s getting the royal treatment, not just a cover over. Things are moving quick. Just keep an eye out in the skies around the park.

Just not the HB characters.

The current color is a blue, this is the original Eiffel Tower Green that SW developed and later changed to Parisian Patina. If I remember the paint was changed to blue during the Paramount years. Here is a photo where it all began, April 1972.

Just hoping we return to this color. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Actually, I would like to retract my statement. I may vaguely remember them selling them in the fried mushroom stand. Mind gets cloudy on some things the older you get. LOL

* Park visitation is strong, currently at about 85% of 2019 levels, according to Witherow. And much of the remaining lag in attendance can be attributed to the slow resumption of group travel and continued capacity restrictions at Canada’s Wonderland in Toronto. (Note: The company does not release individual park attendance figures, although Cedar Point, Kings Island, Canada’s Wonderland and Knott’s Berry Farm in California traditionally draw the biggest crowds.) * Per capita spending continues to increase across all categories, including food and beverage, merchandise, games and extra-charge attractions. Per-guest spending so far in 2021 is $59.57, up 18% from two years ago. * The number of season passholders continues to increase, up 8% from 2019. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2021/08/cedar-fair-says-cedar-point-other-parks-have-almost-returned-to-pre-pandemic-attendance-levels.html Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks like they band aided it to finish the season. Hoping they let GG come in and retrack in the off season. The Beast really needs a complete overhaul. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Trains have been a mess for a while. I honestly wish they would remove the horrible PTCs and install Timberliners. And yes, Timberliners would work and do fit on The Beast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Let's just hope its back up soon. I'd suggest going to Racer and get in some rides or Mystic.

Racer Radio has been awesome. The rest of the park needs fixed. Bring back the I Street music and for GOD sake get rid of the bluegrass version songs in Rivertown, or at least switch them out. LOL

The Probable Reason Why Orion is 3/4 of a Giga
Oldschool75 replied to super7's topic in Kings Island
You do realize the only original building at the gate is the main building itself. The others were adding years later. I could see the ticket buildings getting razed and the front being redesigned but keeping the original front building itself. It would very easy for them to put a front gate coaster in if they chose. -
Should Haunt be more "Family Friendly?"
Oldschool75 replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Kings Island
I see a change to Haunt coming. After having Fall Fest, I can see them toning down Haunt a little. Maybe balance it out for everyone and not just catering to teens. It's not about attendance, it's about profit. Filling the place with a bunch of teen season pass holders doesn't generate the same income of non passholders and families. -
I'm sure glad everyone here is qualified to run an amusement park.

Seats fly off of Orion? (Well, not really)
Oldschool75 replied to specialk141's topic in Kings Island
They used Zephyr's water dummies which do not have legs only nubs, So some of them came loose and went flying out on the first drop. So basically, maint dept took a shortcut which caused the PR dept a headache. -

Ugh, I despise GP. There was no accident. Just some water dummies. geez -
It wouldn't be a work trip since Mystic Timbers is long completed. ;)

Yes, the star was moved to KI for Halley's Comet. Also, if you would like more info about the Shooting Star, I would suggest reaching out to Alfred Freeman on Facebook. He knows a lot about the coaster. He also worked on some including the Screechin' Eagle at Americana.
