I think everyone is taking this out of context. I’m saying for the people that are die hard and make it a point to collect rare items this is a drop in the bucket. They will spend the money. Well the auction was cancelled as I figured it would be. Also a 1ft section of the tube part of the track weighs about 25lbs, so shipping would not be cheap. Brumfield was a 20 year veteran of Kings Dominion's maintenance staff. Today he's an author and I highly, highly recommend his book and blog, both called "Theme Park Babylon." One of the reasons was due to the braking system used at the time. They were still using friction brakes and the brake run was shorter with the last dip. When it would rain there were times that the train had the potential to slide into the other train in the station. Imagine Orion’s leap into the brake run but on Racer and with only a buzz bar.
