  1. I think ur right and I'm kinda sad... and that's kinda sad. I saw some empty flatbeds by the Crypt earlier and thought they were going to be moving some track. Anyone see anything?
  2. ^ agreed. What about a qualifying team that can't raise enough cash. Sorry guys we would've won but... How stressful would that be for a little kid. I loved youth sports and competing was great so I'd be in favor of a national championship but this just looks like a cash cow for Disney. Cut the costs, rent out a modest park and find hotels and maybe restaurants willing to give bulk discounts.
  3. just thought it was funny to see BEAST1979 on all the threads. I was picturing a 12 yr old posting early sun morn, rushing some in before church or something. You may be a KI addict if you played a 4 hr gig last night, went to a party till 1:30, got up with your daughter at 7:00 and are posting one handed (still holding said daughter) at whatever time it is.
  4. ^ If it's Sun morning and you've already posted to every thread on the home page
  5. ^ Cool I'm not crazy. I wondered cuz there wasn't a w in ur reply Thanks for the laugh! The site is running fine for me now btw.
  6. I'm glad I have a sense of humor! That last post took 5 mins to load. I opened task manager and the sight was switching between not responding and running EDIT: this one posted fine
  7. I run windows 07, mcaffee and have DSL through Verizon (I've got a great introductory rate). Same software at work but FIOS. I haven't seen any of those error msgs and load time has been normal. Pages load oddly though. Somebody quoted me and the only thing in the quote was a w. When I posted a joke reply the whole quote was there. The home page often has errors about who posted last, basically not registering recent posts. I've also seen posts of mine disappear twice and it didn't seem lke anything a moderator would've screened out, they were even on topic. Terp, I think the sight is jealous of your wit, however you spell it.
  8. ^Nothing...unles the ravine was 30 or 40 feet deeper. That would be amazing.
  9. ^ Neither do I. I think s/he might have been talking about the track coming out of the MCBR before the last hill and helix
  10. I agree about the third hill. After dropping into that ravine and making that curve, the lateral g's and the physical disorientation from all the different forces... It'll definitely have the surpriuse effect! I just can't wait for that second drop. Coming over the top you'll definitely have some speed and massive air time. Then hitting top speed as you drop into the ravine and the curve into the 3rd hill. This thing is really shaping up to be a top 10 ride.
  11. First of all I would never say w BTW, there's a lot of progress on the worksite today... you know for that new coaster at KI, Diamondback or something like that.
  12. Sorry, thought it was understood. ...have a six line post because you simply must respond to every comment you missed over the last day.
  13. I think Fairly Odd Coaster is very smooth espiecally if you consider its age. I agree that it's got some great airtime too. Glad that we have agreed that DB will in fact be very smooth. FOF is plenty smooth and an incredibly fun ride... Can we get them to turn out the lights completely for a ride or two. Terpy I'm still puzzled on the largest B&M comment. In agreement with Terpy, wasn't this thread about some new coaster or something? Wow look what happens when I don't post for almost a day. You may be a KICentral addict when..
  14. The second hill is looking great and I am officially begging for a webcam ontop of the Crypt.
  15. That's a really neat opportunity. I really like to see programs that pair academics and real world experience.
  16. In response to Skaterboy, I understand your point and would agree if it were in response to someone saying Diamondback will be better than Nitro or Behemoth. However, if you ride in a Porsche you'll have a fast ride on a stiff sport suspension. Ride in a hummer and you'll feel like your in a tank. Ride in a Lexus and you'll have an incredibly smooth ride (and I miss mine). You can count on certain things from B&M and their hypers will always be smooth and full of airtime. Thanks for the info on Phantom's Revenge RZ. It was news to me.
  17. This is way off topic but I though Morgan was called in because because Steel Phantom's inversions were too rough. I didn't know there were maintenance issues. I know I talk about it alot but... wohoo! They are getting close to working in the ravine. The second hill is lookin great!
  18. They topped off MF with snow on the ground so I'm sure they'll do just fine (and yes I know it wasn't Adena that built it). Kudos to those guys though! Can you imagine being that high up, in winter weather, working on cold steel. That's courage, stamina, might etc... As for bad drivers, In Fort Wayne they don't slow down and we have the most rediculous ammount of wrecks. Someone died yesterday. They were stopped at a light, in a low traffic area, and someone plowed into them from behind and sent them into oncoming traffic. Again I note that we need some construction progress.
  19. I'm just anxious for the weather to break so we have something to talk about on here. Not that to, too & two puns aren't a party! -David, who has learned the art of disclaimers and states that he means no offense. Is anyone else really excited about hearing that signature B&M roar come to KI?
  20. ... if you don't get on for a day and miss hearing from people you only know from this site.
  21. I avoided reading this because I thought it was a kid doing a serious TR. Wow, it was hilarious. I woke my daughter up laughing (she's out again, not to worry). The POV idea is priceless. We need to give you an award for best humor! Thanks again! Happy Thanksgiving!
  22. ^Yeah we I rode that with you! I think that was only my second or third life Anyway, I think DB really is one of the most picturesque steel coasters around. The flow of the curves, the way they worked it into the land, the train, and the red and yellow are all just beautiful. I can just stare at the pics, espiecally of the first drop and hill before the helix like I'm lookin at Dali or even good modern steel art. It's just beautiful.
  23. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone here at KICentral. I'm new here and have grown to like you all quite quickly so kudos to this community! (and thanks for putting up with my longwindedness and strong opinions) For those who have fallen on hard times or recently lost a loved one, I hope today brings temporary relief and healing with the joy of family and friends. Even though she was up most of the night with a cold (that I gave her, bad papa) I have been enjoying an early morning of play with my 4 mo. old daughter and look forward to seeing her with all the family today. I really don'y care what we're eating, I'm just happy for the tme off work and school! HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL AT KICentral.
  24. ^ That's a pic of the birth of DB's soul of fury...and let's not forget the speed and venom!
