That is great news! Traffic always slowed down to 50-esh in that area, not I'll probably save 15 minutes! Not to mention the disaster-waiting-to-happen enclosed express lane . I live around the border of goshen/loveland (close to the border of clermont and warren county), so it only takes me relatively 20 minutes to get to the island.

Yea, all i can find are pictures of either the Paramount version, or the post windstorm carnage.......Anybody?
-
Thanks for clearing that up, i dont think that there are any pictures of the Old English version though. That would be great if there were some, i have never seen the pre-paramount sign.
-
Thanks, but i was actually talking about the old sign before that one (or that same sign with a different image), you know, with this logo: http://www.themepark.../pki1984_1.html or was there ever a sign utilizing that logo. Or did it always look like that and Paramount just attached their moniker to the top.
-
Yes, after the original marquee sign was completely destroyed by wind storms (in 2002 i believe?) Kings Island designed the new sign to resemble the gates to the Paramount movie studios. Back in 2007, before they modified the marquee, i kept thinking that CF would just wind up tearing the sign down because of the extensive details on it. However, thankfully, they just modified the sign which i thinks looks suprisingly good. P.S. Does anyone know of any pictures of the old marquee before the pki logo was put on it

You never know! (I didn't think that'd be the first thing someone would notice... something much more obvious is gone too!) I see it now, but the Eiffel Tower?........Uh oh...darn ride rotation!

Why did you erase FoF
-
I really dont think that anybody would not be looking/notice a 215 foot mountain of wood being torn down. It also doesnt seem feasable for said mountain of wood to come down quickly and quietly. So regardless if they remove the ride with or without telling the public, trust me, when the wrecking ball strikes, we and them will know. -KIBOB, just say'in

^2nd video at 1:03 That was just some foreshadowing of what people would say when they got off the ride.

That is interesting to see KC, however, until i glanced very closely, i didn't realize that when KC was standing, AE's first drop/tunnel was built right underneith its lift hill. Now i know where those concrete structures in the foliage in that area came from.

Yes, but wouldnt you think that King Kinzel would be angry if his heir, Prince Kinzel from North Carolina gets his future kingdom taken away from him. Joking aside, i really dont think that Mr. Kinzel would backstab his fellow executives, who as far as i can tell, get along with him very nicely and have helped Cedar Fair Entertainment grow from just a few links to a heavy chain.
-
http://www.cedarfair...ry&story_id=210 It is official! Here is the official statement just released by CF. Also note that in the statement it reads: Aaron Stone, a Senior Partner at Apollo, said, "We are extremely pleased to be acquiring this premier amusement park operator. We look forward to partnering with Cedar Fair's management team and employees to build on the many strengths of the Company. We are firmly committed to Cedar Fair's continued growth as an industry leading amusement park operator." -Just a little insight for all of us who are worried
-
This is kind of depressing seeing as though it seems that Cedar Fair has finally gotten the former Paramount Parks to its standards and through debt, mass planning, strategy, and hard work the company has made some vast improvements to the parks and has many optimistic things in store for next year and the future to come. I hope that things go well, and that CF stays together if this does go through. -KIBOB, who can plain as day picture Mr. Kinzel hitting his head against the wall

Actually, 218 so that adds another 18 feet of bashing and bumping lawsuit spawning awesomeness. KIBOB, sprinting towards the nearest exit.....

Hmmmm.....Learn something new everyday!

Was KI really Paramount's flagship? I was just making sure because i have heard some sources say KI and others say Carowinds.
-
If say one of the said three parks happened to be ki and said lightshow just happened to be placed in tower gardens, i think that it would be awesome for said lightshow to have an international theme since it would be on international street.
-
Yes, but back then it was Paramount's Kings Island though i too am a bit surprised they put the penny pinchers in that description. Usually, CF seems to dislike talking about the certain era between 93 and 06.

kings dominion new coaster in development
KIBOB replied to raptorcp21's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yes, CF might as well trademark the multiple shades of red, white and yellow that they seem to love to use. It will be a shocker to all of us if they open a coaster that is blue or green in the future. -
Ooops, i havnt been to the park since mid september wow am i behind.

World's Best Kids' Area to Get a Whole New Look in 2010!
KIBOB replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
That would be nice, but considering that woodstock express at carowinds is almost the same coaster as FoC and had some of the same names that ki's did (Scooby-Doo, Fairly-Odd Coaster) I am not so sure.... -
I was able to go and take my brothers and sister closing day, however, we left before we even got a chance to ride DB (usually our grand finale to the day) due to the fact that we were all frozen and getting hungry. One of the last rides we rode was SDaTHC before it left forever (and because it had heat ). On a side note, i did notice the Nickelodeon store already completely empied out. So...did anyone else who went have a good final day of the 09 season?

It is very unlikely that they would announce it the first day of the offseason. I would give it untill at least January for anything to be heard. There is a possiblility that they might not even announce it and just silently change the ride names on the web site like they did the 2007-2008 offseason, or maybe they will have some big press conference like CP did. Who knows, only time will tell. -
^I am pretty sure sure that i have seen this somewhere on here also. Hmmm, I wonder how Disney truly felt about taking her to ride a coaster from a park owned by a completely different and rival animation company.
