  1. I don't count moved rides, but have not been on one. I do however count racing coasters as long as they are on separate tracks. Kennywood's Racer to me does not count as two since it is a mobius.
  2. By the end of the season, I will be over 200 total and real close to 200 different ones this year. Going to Strickers Grove tomorrow to pick up 2 new credits.
  3. Kat, look up the academy award for best motion picture from 1958. I too am hoping that we don't see this clue.
  4. I would not worry about them selling out. I would advise that you consider a platinum pass for next year. With new coasters at Kings Dominion & Carowinds for sure and something new at Cedar Point you may want to expand your horizons beyond KI. .
  5. One week from Monday we will be there. I have already planned on purchasing a Gold Flash Pass for the 3 of us riders. I have been told that FPs are not used much by the crowd at SFGAv as compared to SFGAm. We are still trying to decide if we will have enough time to do the safari first since it opens at 9:00 AM and the park opens at 10:00 AM. Any thought Mr. Terpy
  6. We had a great day at IB a few weeks ago. As to taking off without telling the folks. HMMMM I have to agree with Terpy. My kids would have been grounded for a month.
  7. This one is easy, Ravine Flyer II at Waldameer. It is only 80' but has a 115' first drop. This is one of my top 3 woodies. http://www.thegravitygroup.com/portfolio_fleet.html
  8. I personally prefer assigned seats. When you are riding with a group larger then 2 it is a real benefit. I have seen many trains on other coasters go out with over 25% empty seats even though the wait is close to an hour.
  9. I have never been denied the seat of my choosing on Diamondback. Maybe it is because I always greet the ride op with a big smile and say Please. As to happy-go-lucky, I would say that most of the time at an amusement park I am. I am self employed in a business that's clientele has a high discretionary income. Add that to a tough economy and I have a ton of stress at work. I go to the amusement parks to forget about work for a few hours. Earlier this year I let myself get upset with a line jumper. It ended up tarnishing my day. I only got in 11 coaster rides at CP before heading home frustrated. I compare that to Monday when I made a consious decision to not stress and had a great day even though I only got 7 coaster rides in.
  10. I have been up there on 2 Mondays in the last 3 weeks. It has been crazy busy on both of them. I guess this is good for CF.
  11. Tig, As you know from a similar discussion on CoasterBuzz. We disagree about whether Diamondback or Behemoth is better. IMO (that is all we are really talking about here ) Diamondback is a little better. Both are great rides.
  12. Good, we won't be there then.
  13. Yes we did. It was great too.
  14. Maybe, It was quite a while ago. I just know that it was in the general area that Great Wolf sits. But you are right there was no water park etc.
  15. With or without water?
  16. Sledgehammer was not open when we were there. It looked like a great flat. Hopefully we will get back there next year.
  17. I have never gotten sick on ride, but this made me do a flash back to my younger days. I was staying with a friend at Great Wolf (or what ever it was called) 20+ years ago. My friend found out that I had never been truly drunk and he wanted to fix that. He laid down a $50 bill on the table and told the waitress to bring Long Island Iced Teas till the money was gone. Needless to say we got hammered. The next day we went to KI. I did fine, but he had to hurl after a ride on the tea cups.
  18. I agree that Dominator is the best coaster there this year. That is why I would not hold that one for #50. I would want to ride it and ride it again as soon as you get there.
  19. I would go with Volcano as #50. Dominator is a great ride with generally short lines. You will want to get plenty of re-rides. My suggestion is to get the 6 that you need done on Thursday night then if you can get a night ride on Volcano for your #50. I am assuming that you have a platinum card. They don't do ERTs like KI, but they let you into the back of the park 15 minutes early. The other thing is that they open Dominator before the park officially opens. We got there before the parking lot opened and had a great parking space and were first in line at the turnstiles. This allowed us to book on over to Dominator for the front row of the first train. We then got a re-ride before heading back to the holding area behind the tower for the season pass early opening. We did not get first train on Volcano, but we did get front row 2nd train. We had a great time at KD and look forward to going back next year to ride the Giga.
  20. I don't blame you. That is disgusting. Last year I saw a kid next to me spit at the top of Drop Tower, and one kid and his friend were throwing Skittles from the top (you better believe I yelled at them!). Some people really need to discipline their children. When we were at SFKK we were on their ferris wheel someone in another car threw something. The ride stopped and we could see the ride ops get on the phone. Next thing there were 4-5 security & 2 local cops. They started up the ride to get them to the bottom and removed them from the ride then from the park. We have to get that T-Rex ride at KI. I love that kind of motion and the fact that the dinosaur is animated and roars is too cool.
  21. To get in the ride vehicle, you climb a ladder forcing your head between the hard shoulder restraints at the front while the car is moving. To hold yourself in place your feet rest on the rung of the ladder. Since the spacing is fixed if your to short or tall for a natural fit, you end up being to tight in the restraints or to loose which then causes some forward slamming into them. The ride itself is about as much fun as a mouse coaster.
  22. We did one of those at CanW (time warp). It was painful and awkward to get into. If I come across another one in our travels, I will probably still ride it (credit whore) but now I will know what to expect. Here is a list of these pain machines. http://www.rcdb.com/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8263 Luckily there are only 2 left on this continent. We are not planning on going to NY anytime soon so my shoulders should be safe this year.
  23. I seem to remember riding TTD with full trains at 7:00 am. We were all hoping for rollbacks, but none were to be given out that day.
  24. Nice TR. Yes Flight Deck & Time Warp lines get long slow lines. I agree with you that Behemoth was the best in the park, but I still felt they had a solid line up of coasters.
  25. And I am cool with that. At CoasterMania we did 44 laps between the 17 coasters. That is not counting the flat rides we did. On another note, I already have our reservations in at Di Paolo's in Alpharetta for that evening.
