  1. Good to know that it will be included. I read on the KD site that they are renewing PP for $145. My guess would be that will be the same for KI when they do announce.
  2. A lot of KIC folk will be there. They won't be able to hang out since they will be working.
  3. Did you ask about gold & platimum passes or just season passes in general? At CW, the regular passes do not include their haunt.
  4. Just an FYI. While checking on hours for our trip to Carowinds next weekend, I noticed that their 2010 Gold & Platinum passes do include their Haunts http://www.carowinds.com/special/passinfo/sp_benefits.cfm This is not to say that KI will follow the same policy, but I would be surprised if they didn't include them for Gold & Platinum. Their regular 2010 Platinum pass is $150 with a special of $145 right now. If KI doesn't announce something soon I may just get a Carowinds PP for 2010. Same thing goes for KD http://www.kingsdominion.com/shop/shopping_season_pass.cfm
  5. That stinks about the Air Crows. They were a favorite, as were the swings on the other side of the park. Glad you had fun and even better at 1/2 price.
  6. Glad to see Rocky is still alive & well. Let's do the Time Warp again has so much more meaning when you did it 20 years ago. Now that is the real time warp.
  7. Sorry for the delays in getting up the rest of the PTRs. We just got back from SFOG & Dollywood and have CP Coasting for Kids tomorrow. Somewhere in between I have to work.
  8. I agree that the glasses policy would be an ADA issue. Also can you imagine some one that wears glasses (safety glasses to boot) would get something in their eye on a ride where they made them remove eye protection. I wear glasses and always have a strap on when riding coasters. This policy is dumb. OH, great TR BTW. I love seeing other parks. We have thought of heading out to DL, SFMM & KBF for a coaster trip.
  9. Well, we found another ride that gave me that WOW feeling. El Toro at SFGadv left me breathless at the end of every lap we did. The air on this ride is the most forceful that I have ever felt. I am a pretty big guy and had to be stapled in tight to get a green light. With this I figured that I would not get air, boy was I wrong. At least now I know that I will have 2 rides that will always deliver the thrill.
  10. You don't have a 0 as an option. I think the theming will be gone durning the off season. My guess is that it will turn into the Great Pumpkin patch.
  11. Sounds like things are going from bad to worse for Coney Island.
  12. Of course that was before KD took a step back and changed their website to now say that it is OTSR not just OTS lapbars.
  13. Your kidding. AC is just a mediocre B&M. The first hill is a joke with the false first drop. There are a few decent elements to it but DB is a much stronger ride with much stronger G-forces both positive & negative ones. Now Nitro at SFGAdv on the other hand is right up there with DB. This is the best of the older generation B&M sit downs IMO. We will be on Goliath tomorrow to be able to compare it as well.
  14. Of course it is opened just after we got home from SFGAdv. Since I missed KK and Talon at Dorney. I feel that a follow up visit next year will be in order. Maybe even head north after to go to SFNE.
  15. I agree Terpy, While I have only ridden Hydra from you list, I was completely underwhelmed. What is it with a slow barrel right out of the station? I almost felt like they put some track in the wrong spot. Talon was down with a broken lift chain so we did not get to ride it. Dorney was the most disappointing park we have been to this year.
  16. This was our big coaster trip of the summer. 5 parks in 4 days. We started out Friday night and headed to the in-laws in Wheeling to drop off the dogs and spend the night. The next morning we left around 7:30 for Altoona and Lakemont park. This is a smaller park with 3 adult coasters and a nice group of flats. The admission was right at $10 for an all day wristband. The highlight was riding Leap the Dips. This coaster was built in 1902 and is the oldest operating coaster in the world. We started of with a ride on the Toboggan. These are often found on the fair circuits. The lift is the most exciting part of the entire ride. The cars are very tight and on the bunny hill at the end I hit my head on the roof of the car. Next up was Skyliner. This is a classic John Allen coaster with some nice pops of air & a great view of the ball park. We were worried that the ride was closed when we headed over. We had not seen a train run yet. It seems that no one had made their way over yet, so we got a Zen ride on the first train of the day. We followed this with another lap with out even stopping in the station. We went back later and got a total of 4 laps on Skyliner, but this time we had to share the ride. When we walked by Leap the Dips, it was closed for maintance. I was worried that we may not get a lap in when we saw the maintance guys adding new lumber to some supports. Luckily the ride opened about an hour after the park opened. While we were waiting we did a number of flats including the Ferris Wheel, Carosele, Tilt-a-whirl, Twister, Round-up, Antique cars and Nancy & Elizabeth did a lap on Toboggan. At this point we noticed that Leap the Dips had opened. They were only running one car but there was only a one car wait so not to bad. This ride has the most comfortable seats of any coaster I have been on. They felt like my lazy-boy at home. While this may not be a intense as Diamondback, it was still thrilling. No seat belts or lap bars. You are just sitting there with nothing holding you in. We got another lap on Skyliner before heading over to SkyDiver. This was the tightest ride I have ever been on. The pad was even tight on Elizabeth. It was a lot of fun as you controlled how much you wanted to spin upside down. So we got 4 laps on Skyliner, 2 on Tobbagan & 1 on Leap the Dips plus 7 different flat rides in just over 2 hours. We jumped back in the car and were off to Elysburg and Knoebels.
  17. Just got off the Phone with them. They have to mail the certificates and it takes 7-10 days. I guess we won't be doing the zip line.
  18. I think we should have a KIC group trip to KD next year.
  19. I never got to it as we were getting ready for our BIG Coaster trip. Now I have both to do.
  20. I am tempted but a bit worried. We are leaving Saturday for our SFoG & Dollywood Trip. I can not find if it is a print at home certificate or has to be mailed out. They are in Ohio, but depending on how long it takes them to get them out would depend on if I can use this deal.
  21. We got a couple of new great woodies that fit this catagory. Lightning Racer at Hershey Park. Wow this ride was incredible. IMO this is the best coaster in the park. Comet also at Hershey Park. This is a Herb Schmeck coaster from the 40's. One of the best classic coasters (before I was born) I have been on. Phoenix at Knoebels. Also a Schmeck design that started out in Texas but then was moved to PA in 1985. The train leaves the station then it is total darkness for a few turns then out you pop onto the lift hill.

Matt, if your going on a weekend, consider spending the $$$ for a Gold Flash Pass. The Sunday that we went was so crowded that I am sure we would not have gotten all the coaster credits in without it. Be aware if you do go for the FP or GFP, that Ragin' Cagun & American Eagle don't have a FP line. Also that AE and Iron Wolf don't open till 11:00. If you opt to not get a FP, then get to the parking lot 45 minutes before the park opens. As soon as you get in head to Superman and work that side of the park first.
  23. We had a great time hanging with y'all. To bad we left before the group grope photo. On the other hand we did get a couple of night laps on DB.
  24. Jackson, I thought the idea of dueling Invertigo was pretty funny. Lighten up a bit or else I'm going to keep rocking the Ferris wheel.
  25. Cool, your getting close to century mark. Have you thought about where you want to get your 100th. My 10 year old will be getting her 100th this weekend. I was hoping that she could have done it on Leap the Dips at Lakemont but it will probably be on Phoenix at Knoebels.
