We had a great time at SFoG. For us Georgia Cyclone & GASM were horribly rough. But Ninja wasn't so bad (about the same as Vortex at KI). Others have said the opposite. I think the best thing is to ride them all once and then reride the ones you like over & over. The only park that I was disapointed in was Dorney Park and that was mostly because Talon was down with a broken lift chain.

Invertigo? That's a new one. I'm guessing you don't like it because of the head banging. I guess that happens on every inverted coaster. One more thing: Is T2 at Kentucky Kingdom? Yes, T2 is a SFKK. It is the worst hang & bang I have been on but not the worst coaster.

I guess the coaster gods were with me when we rode Ninja at SFOG. I rode it 3 times without any roughness or headbanging.

I thought Hurler at Carowinds was supposed to be the bad one. I loved Hurler at KD. We were just at Carowinds this past Saturday. Hurler was running fine and was a lot of fun. Hurler at KD was rough and painful. One other note, Hurler at KD while not overly busy was sending out mostly full trains. At KD they normally only had 3 rows of riders. -
As you should Angie. Even after 80 laps the jolt in the helix was still painful.

Cold Water Thrown on Zoombezi Bay

I feel that they could add some 48" thrill rides and get a pretty quick return on investment. -
Since we seem to have a bunch of Best Coaster polls, how bout one for the worst coaster you have ridden. I will start by nominating the following Hurler at Kings Dominion Georgia Cyclone at SFOG Great American Scream Machine at SFOG These were all more painful then SOB IMO and were one and done rides. So what coaster have you ridden and wish you didn't?

CF would win the Worst Coaster IMO for Hurler at KD. Funny thing is Hurler at Carowinds was a great ride. -
Glad you had a good day at KI and got your 15 rides in. I must say however that I have you beat. 80 laps on Gemini and a total of 92 coaster laps in 1 day. I could have done more but I left several hours before the park closed. And yes I was very sore the next day.

VKat said Prowler was a great ride but I have trouble believing it is better then Diamondback. -
Cold Water Thrown on Zoombezi Bay
DaveStroem replied to RailRider's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Well it did say "seemed". First off we were Zoo season pass holders. So there was an upcharge for Zoombezi Bay. Then after dropping some $$$ for that we headed over and got hit with the tube rental. Then when we wanted to ride a flat ride that required more $$$. It realy felt like they just kept putting their hand in my wallet to see if there was anything left. -

I wonder how the 8th best wood coaster (prowler) can beat out the 7th best steel coaster (Diamondback) for best new ride? -

I totally agree. The price does include the zoo as well but if your going for the water park it is about double what it is worth. -

I haven't been to every water park, so I'm no expert, but I have never seen anything so ridiculous. If you don't rent a tube, can you still use the "LAZY" river by walking it? Thanks for the heads-up. I would not deal with something like that very quietly. EDIT: I can't find anything on their website that communicates an upcharge for tube rental. http://www.zoombezibay.com/attractions.aspx They changed the policy for 2009. They no longer rent tubes. And yes people walked in the lazy river. This made it a PIA for those in tubes because the walkers were slower then the floaters. -

We had season passes to ZB last year. The park was not well run and seemed that everything was an up-charge. You had to rent a tube to use in the lazy river. We chose to skip the season passes this year and get CF ones instead. The Columbus Zoo is 1st class but Zoombezi is at best a 2nd class water park and Jungle Jack's Landing is more like 4th class. I could see them adding to JJL with some thrill rides and an adult coaster to get the teens to purchase a wristband. -
Platinum Pass Renewal Price Somewhat Released

I also got an Email that CP's price is $140 for new or renewal PP this weekend and they give you a CF windbreaker + a 1/2 off coupon for a friend. I plan on doing this since we are going up on Sunday anyways for the GOCC ERT on Maverick. They are also having some other GP/PP ERTs this weekend. Saturday night is TTD & Sunday morning is Millie. -
My Opinion on the Future of Cedar Fair
DaveStroem replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
We have been to a lot of parks this year. When a park offers something that seems like a value, I will spend the $$$ for is. Case in point: at BGE they have a meal deal that is $20 per person. This included 2 meals that included entree, side or dessert and drink + 2 other drinks during the day. We normally pack a cooler & eat at the car. This time I spent $80 and bought the meal deals. They had value. Another example is the Sky Flyer. At KI they offer this for $5 early in the day or to gold pass members. When they are doing this there is always a wait for the Sky Flyer. At other parks they want from $25 -$40 for this and they sit empty. Which is better, having your staff doing something and making some $$$ or having them sit on their thumbs watching the crowds walk by. -

I saw in another site that someone got their 2010 MA PP renewed for $140. I hope that is what they are at KI. For 2009 I paid $150 with the 4 pack discount. -

SHOOT THE RAPIDS at Cedar Point

So I wonder what the deal is with Whyte Lightning. I also am wondering about the tweet that stated you will not get wet. Maybe that is referring to the line "you won't get wet on this ride, you will get drenched". There was also a post about laboring over the plans. Could it be possible that there is more to come from the boys up north. 1,2,3 I just don't get them making such a big deal teasing us and then delivering a water ride. -
Could SFKK's Chang be in danger?
DaveStroem replied to a topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I have been to SFA, SFKK, SFGAm, SFGAd & SFoG this year. Every park was clean & the staffs were freindly. We don't eat much at the parks from a finacial stand point so I won't comment on the food. We had a great time at all of the Six Flags parks & I would return to any of them. SFKK has the weakest coaster line up, but that being said, it was still a fun day. -

SHOOT THE RAPIDS at Cedar Point

I personally am not a fan of water rides. So naturally I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping for some good wood to come to the Ohio side of Lake Erie. Maybe next year. -
I too don't understand KI's flip-flop policy on flip-flops. It must have been a rough day on footware for DB. I was on 2 different trains where people other then Giga lost a flip flop. One woman was quite upset about it.
