Thanks for your reply. I think many coasters have the occasional delay of 20-30 minutes long, doesn't matter the manufacturer. I don't think Dollywood has a lax'd maintenance department and I'm sure that if there are delays during testing, they'll get the ride up as quickly as possible.

Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees

I'm not sure I understand this logic. That's like saying last summer: I don't think Valravn is going to go where it's rumored because that's too close to Rougarou. Well, I guess that's true. I'm just a tad bit skeptical because both Diamonback and a giga would be so tall next to each other and the skyline might look uneven. Rougarou and Valravn are two different ride experiences, so that's probably why they are so close to one another. As a Giga and Diamondback are different ride experiences. As far as the skyline, it depends on your vantage point/ride location/etc. if it were to be uneven. Look at Diamondback from the parking lot....then look at it from Coney Mall....the skyline looks different from there. -

The thing that bothers me is that this made the news. It's not all that uncommon. Gatekeeper media day, while on Millennium Force a friend (I didn't know her at the time) had her seat belt break as we were going up the lift. Her and her husband got the attention of the ride hosts...they stopped us and evacuated us because they determined it to be unsafe. This didn't make the news and there were cell phones out, I had my picture taken sleeping (it was posted on Facebook by someone I didn't know, I hadn't slept at all the night before). A picture could have easily been taken, but to those who had their phones out, it wasn't a big deal. I guess what I'm saying in my opinion it's more common than these folks think. Only so many of the "incidents" get reported. Anyway.

Let's hypothetically say in 5 years they sell/install 50 with over a 1-2 year period. That's 10 polercoasters they'd have to design, 10 polercoasters to engineer, 10 they'd have to fabricate, 10 they'd have to construct and install. Each order can take up to 24 months to complete as stated in the article. I sure hope they'd have enough staff and area to work to complete this goal.

All the talk on the Anniversary Stuff.....remember 40th Anniversary we got Soak City. But again I'll say, what has happened in the past doesn't mean that it'll happen in the present/future. -
I highly doubt it was anything other than Banshee's lights. The webcams after dark and especially after a storm have altered views (especially when a lot of the park is not lit). Before the park opened this year, I saw what I thought was someone welding something near Vortex....turned out to be a light that's been there for years.

Are RMC coasters unreliable? Asking to find out myself. I don't seem to remember hearing anything about mass downtime once they open.

From what I gather, it's been testing constantly so it should be good to go in the next few weeks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No its not, its just in the outer limits of the park... It actually is, the steel was moved to the "coaster graveyard" has since rusted and I'm guessing it has been removed from property. The cars were moved to Kings Dominion for parts for Shockwave...well Shockwave is no longer there. There is currently no TOGO Standup Coasters standing or in working condition (in pieces) in the United States. -

Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?

You must! Great ride! -
It's "new" for a wooden coaster....it kinda goes back to Son of Beast days where it was sort of marketed as the only wooden coaster to go upside down.

Sorry for double post but it's been a while Lightning Rod to open in the next few weeks: http://wate.com/2016/04/26/dollywood-says-lightning-rod-will-open-in-next-few-weeks/

Last time I went to CP in 2014, Maverick was the longest line, I think it was 90 mins. or longer. Capacity could be the thing that is prevent it going to other parks. ^^ Bingo! As of now, current signs point to Cedar Fair not working with Intamin. However, that's not to say they won't in the future.....guess we'll have to wait and see. -
^^^ Great pic! I'd assume the pumps get a refurbishment at least every other year if not every year. We may only be paying attention now because we're looking for clues. But I totally agree, it's great to see that the park takes care of these things!

One of my local news affiliates shared a story and a video from a sister station in Texas today about Wonderland Amusement Park in Amarillo Texas. A safety belt failed and it was sort of caught on camera: See the link below for more information: http://abc6onyourside.com/news/local/caught-on-cam-boys-terrifying-roller-coaster-mishap-goes-viral

While moving? Without Ride Operators even noticing? Without SECURITY even noticing? It's more than likely impossible to get to the seat even while moving. Even if they managed to do so, someone on the ride would tell an operator. The ride would shut down (possibly This is more than likely a worst case scenario). Security would come (If they manage to stop the guy). They'd probably get charged with trespassing and get banned from the park. Not only that, but I think the way to get into the tower is locked by maintenance anyways. I was referencing Maintenance off of this post: From my understanding the inside of the tower can only be accessed by maintenance and to park the gondola on top it would have to be in Maintenance Mode unless it had a fault already and got stuck up there temporarily. In no way was I talking about park guests.

There is a ladder to the top. In the picture below look to the right. Source: http://www.coaster-net.com/site-news/960-WindSeeker-construction-update-from-cp/ They may be able to climb onto the center portion of the gondola from the top and be able to secure themselves to the ride there.
