Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
To your point of #3, unless the KI&MVRR Tour is changed from last year (we walked to the engine house, heard a few stories and walked back, not sure if we'll see anything else. Well, unless you have confirmation that the contract isn't going to be renewed, its plausible. The original person who posted about the DA contract has not confirmed that it was signed, therefore, it is speculation, not credible. No, it has not be confirmed. The contract likely was for 5 seasons, not 5 years from the date it was signed. Most don't realize that the Dinosaurs are typically within 20-30 feet from the path, the area all in between from what I remember when walking through there as an employee isn't all that flat or useable. Source: Avatar on KIC From Google Maps Your husband must be very secretive, you never call him by name or title. I strongly believe that it won't be made my the make of "cowboy coaster." What credit? I have yet to hear anything about some boat ride credit....I assume you are talking about Shoot The Rapids, in which case that was at Cedar Point....if any park got a credit for it, it would be Cedar Point. -
No. Not everything is a clue.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk

Hoeter and I are doing that this weekend. I would normally agree but they look like the same thing only a couple stories taller and a couple hundred feet longer. Compare TTD and Kingda Ka.....only a few feet taller and a few hundred feet longer.....they look like the same thing minus Kingda Ka's airtime hill.....Kingda Ka is bigger and definitely not better. The thing that drives me crazy is that people claim it to be boring and not amazing yet they haven't ridden it. -

I don't see how the rumor is plausible though, the extension of the contract hasn't been confirmed and the state of those Dinosaurs is embarrassing to the company who made and owns (not sure if they are leased or what) them. -
So as far as I can see: 1) Oldschool75 2,3,4) Joncars05 +Wife & Child 5) IndyGuy4KI 6, 7) NoChickens and MrsNoChickens 8) Hoeter 9) Magenta Lizard 10) chugh43 11) freaks76 12) rcwizard13 If I missed you, sorry....feel free to add yourself to the list

Kennywood's Noah's Ark Goes Retro
Creed Bratton replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I'm so excited to check out Noah's Ark again! In the past few years I made sure that I went through the attraction, I loved it as it formerly was and I'm sure I'm going to continue to love it as it is now! -
I registered yesterday....2 pm Beast Tour! electricsun....the answer is yes....you want to go two more days.

I know... There had been some quotations asking about what portions would be closed, hence the picture. All good! I didn't see those posts!

I know they used to do a carousel horse (not sure when that was around) and the Liberty Bell (can't remember if they still do). However, that's really nice! I'd love to see more topiary bushes around the park....including the Peanuts characters like at Cedar Point. Thanks for sharing!

Banshee Brew Fest is the reason for that. Will be the same way next weekend.

This gave me a good chuckle. "Blender Manufacturing Company." -

You are comparing Cedar Fair who purchases coasters somewhere between $18-30 million to picking up something at Walmart because it's cheap? I'm sure Cedar Fair would prefer to purchase a coaster that isn't cheap and reliable, as would I. If we are going to compare, I'd say B&M is Target and Intamin is Walmart. Also good luck getting answers to some questions in regards to Project 2017. -

I highly doubt the maker of the cowboy coaster, aka Maverick, which is Intamin will open a ride in the Cedar Fair chain anytime soon. -
I believe it's a Bring A Friend day...so expect crowds to be heavier.

It's a lovely smoking patio

It has been said by a top Cedar Fair official, that for now you will not see a new coaster at the front of the park at least integrating with the front gate. That has been mentioned on the site a few times. I also don't see Cedar Fair using the parking lot near GWL or by Action Zone as they typically use that portion of the lot for busses and preferred parking. Coaster designs can be made to fit an area that has a lot of trees or not....it depends on the park. It's not specific to the coaster manufacturer. -

Here? I'd love to have a Dive Coaster in my backyard! -
Just curious, I've not ate at Hanks in a while, what made it not good at all? The one time last year I waited in line and left (there weren't trays and the staff couldn't figure out what way was up) I happened to look at the meat, it seemed like it was shredded chicken but it was so incredibly saturated in the pan in whatever liquid it sat in, I decided I couldn't stomach it. I saw them place a hunk of chicken on the burrito and it was dripping with whatever that liquid was. I'd rather my burrito not leak water.
