Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
Thank you for stating this! Folks seem to forget what's been said. On my multiple trips on the train this weekend, I noticed a bunch of markers down in the ravine before pulling around into the station. Upon further inspection (NoChickens and a few others saw too) that they were marked "Set Pile." I couldn't get a picture of them due to the depth of the area and angle of where I was sitting. I looked up "set pile" and this is what came up in a job description for a pile driver: "Operate pile drivers mounted on skids, barges, crawler treads, or locomotive cranes to drive pilings for retaining walls, bulkheads, and foundations of structures, such as buildings, bridges, and piers." Saw this on the way home Monday....looks to me like the rumors may be going away -
The workers were not in a lock-out area. It's a restricted area. There have been Diamondback photo ops for different events semi-close to that area in the past. Low-zones are typically the lock-out areas. Diamondback was down for a while when I took this photo but they were testing it. As someone else said, they wouldn't construct a guest path in a lock-out area. I think I ended up riding the train about 15 times over the weekend and heard many statements of when WWC would open. Saturday, in 2 weeks, hopefully soon, in a few weeks, etc.

My issue with Chicken Shack (as found out on Monday) is that they had 1 cashier and folks wanting to refill souvenir bottles. I had waited in line for a few minutes, as I go to get my drink (3 free water cups) a young teenaged girl enters through the exit and tries to get her drink at the same time I am. I could have been nice and let her get it, but I was tired of standing in line. As I filled my first cup, to get the 2nd, she tried to reach in and fill hers, I said "not done yet, sorry." Then as I filled the 2nd and went to go get the 3rd she tried to reach in to fill hers, I said "still not done." I wish the drink area was set up differently in there or the lines for the registers were better placed.

As far as the coupons, they come at random times whether a stand/store is open or not.

They've started frame work for fencing/light poles and I'm assuming nets for the WWC entrance. Took this today. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk

Camden Park New Ride for 2016
Creed Bratton replied to Creed Bratton's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Did you ride the same model? How many times do you go around the circuit? I've seen a few of these added as of recent (I've not been on any) but I'd love to see a longer circuit one. -

I can only agree with this, I've got 3 from Cedar Point, the metal snaps easy (on of the pegs where you put it into the base snapped off on one of mine). Also be careful when taking the pieces out of the sheet, you can cut yourself (I did that on my first one oops!)

^ Yes I did. I've also heard other attendees (not from KIC) say they felt their shirts shrunk after washing. Edit: Just in case anyone wants another view of the weekend for #Coasterstock you can check out my Twitter: https://twitter.com/coastercrwchris

Surprise, I don't eat ribs!

Liking the shirts this year, the logo looks great! I felt like the shirts last year were almost a one time use because mine definitely shrank after washing it.

I love how "credits" that allegedly are from Cedar Point's removal of Shoot The Rapids are somehow transferred to Kings Island. -

My friend has it at Cedar Point and I enjoyed what I saw from it.....so I figured I'd get it at KI since I'll probably be there more often.

GHOST TOWN IN THE SKY:
Creed Bratton replied to westcoaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
So this may sound bad, but I don't feel like I've seen a lot of effort put into place for this to work......so I'm not surprised. There may have been, I don't know for sure. At what point does "Ghost Town In The Sky" become a Ghost Town for good? -
That's what I was hoping to do, but wanted to make sure it wasn't cheaper online first! Thanks!
-
Has anyone bought Season long FunPix in the park? If so, was the price different than it was online? It's $39.99 plus fees and taxes.... Just wondering, I'm hoping to purchase this weekend.

GHOST TOWN IN THE SKY:
Creed Bratton replied to westcoaster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Ghost Town Village was set to reopen this summer as a sort of flea market/craft show kind of thing. This was posted on their Facebook today: https://www.facebook.com/GTMAGGIE/?fref=ts -
Train status monitor on Fury
Creed Bratton replied to jbum123's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I like the monitor from the guest standpoint. I can't see the lights on the side or back of the seat. So I like to look at the monitor to see if my seat is locked or if I need to pull the restraint down more to save myself the embarrassment of my seat being called out. To be honest, I'm completely blown away by both videos.....especially since I never got to visit either park. -
