  1. Board To Death was better IMO than Urgent Scare....if one of the two need to go, I'd say Urgent Scare.
  2. Sadly the area directly around the property isn't the most business friendly. Not even a few minutes/4ish miles down the road, sits an empty lot that once had the hub of the South East Columbus business. See the picture below (screen cap from Google Maps). This hub featured retail, food, Sams Club, grocery store and a movie theater. The area of town started to decline and all of the business started to pull out. The movie theater stood for about 4 or 5 years if I remember correctly. In the picture below you see a long building, that would be Ohio's Department of Commerce...I find quite hilarious that it's there where this massive footprint of a once bustling area of town. Travel a few miles up the road and what do you see? Other businesses shuttered, other businesses covered in graffiti and lower income housing. Travel just a little further and what do we see the building that houses (or once did) Fort Rapids....currently shuttered. In an area where businesses are struggling to stay open, an area that lacks character and lacks the ability to stay afloat. Now Fort Rapids does have successful neighbors, but the area it's in doesn't support it's reputation. It too has low income housing around it and unfortunately a lot of the clientele of Fort Rapids didn't respect the property. I hope that if a new operator takes over (yes I said if, because I don't see anyone wanting to deal with the headaches) they've got a lot of work to do to update not only the property but the building, staffing and reputation (security and all).
  3. ^^^ I could be wrong, but I believe the metal laid on the stairs/catwalks/other surfaces are different on some rides and attractions. Some I believe have different textures for non-slip. I.E. Diamondback....I think the flooring of the stairs/catwalks on the lift hill are diamond treaded (see picture below) Source I'm fairly positive the reason the tread is the Diamond style for non-slip (not because it's named Diamondback) since there is a possibility of moisture accumulating on the lift hill cat stairs/catwalk due to the splashdown.
  4. Iron Dragon VR is currently testing. It's not required. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  5. Thankfully they fixed my issue right away. The guy next to me at guest services came in with tickets he ordered on Saturday night....that at the gate said they were invalid. He was ticked and rightfully so. A supervisor in guest services said you know that's our bad...I can see the order here and you are good to go into the park. I personally didn't hear the whole conversation but I am happy the supervisor just let them go into the park without any more hassle. I did get to experience something at the park for the first time (a few things but this one is more interesting)............ Iron Dragon VR! I was one of a few who got to test it out. I won't give away too many details, but the whole process was fairly easy. I hope that if this sticks the either alternate trains or cars. To be honest the ride hosts working with us did much better than those at Six Flags Over Georgia (the park who had the program rolled out publicly). The loading procedure was quick, making sure the headsets were calibrated was not terribly long and we were on our way. You could tell there was a story line and it was a great one to be honest. The graphics were pretty sweet, I didn't feel nauseous. I honestly didn't even feel like I was on a coaster. I had no idea where I was until we were told to take off our headsets. It was kind of funny as we pulled into the brakerun you could tell on the VR things were slowing down but the next thing I heard was "riders how was your ride?, etc." I didn't realize we stopped at all. I honestly would give VR on Iron Dragon a 10 out of 10. That says something for me, the one who was incredibly critical of VR especially at SFOG.
  6. Had a great trip to the park yesterday. Getting into the park was a hassle. I had left my pass at the hotel a few weeks ago before we went to Carowinds so I had to get a new one. Got in there fine, dining plan worked great and all. When I got to Cedar Point yesterday I went to enter the Marina Gate. I saw that when they scanned my pass it popped up a red x....so the girl said my pass wasn't valid. I said...uh...it is. So she went and called someone....she scanned it in the building and said I would be good to go. I went to Guest Services anyway to make sure everything was on it, dining/FunPix, etc. When I got to Guest Services the supervisor (the one who called me to the counter) asked what I was there for. I told her everything. So she went and said yeah, your picture isn't here. I had my pass from before I got a new one and said told them I had my old one with me. So she transferred picture and dining over to the pass. She said I needed to go to a FunPix location to get that transferred over. So across the midway I went. It got transferred over easily and I was well on my way...just a headache to start out my day. I did a lot of walking and just relaxing in the park. I got to finally see All Wheels Extreme (for the first time). I know a cast member so I was happy to see him. Also watched the Lusty Lil's show. I love that show! Overall great day.
  7. I turned the volume on mute, but the video gave me a headache, the constant in and out of focus on top of the trying to zoom in and out.
  8. For those wanting to see the actual axe Don was holding. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  9. Maybe someone knows, for Wicked Twister are there any big boy seats or tricks? I tried a few weeks ago to ride in the back row but the seat belt wouldn't buckle. It's the only "high thrill" coaster I haven't been able to ride this year at the park. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  10. Drove by on Wednesday of this week and it was dead, not a car around or anything. The big sign on top of the building that stated "Fort Rapids Waterpark" has been removed. I highly doubt it opens anytime soon. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  11. They do, lol....it's like yesterday was National Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day....they don't stop serving the creative flavors because it's not June 30th...
  12. It's apparently Amusement Ride Safety Week in Pennsylvania. In the video from the link, it was stated that each park in Pennsylvania pretty much is self inspected, unlike Ohio. http://www.wpxi.com/news/agriculture-secretary-visits-kennywood-offers-amusement-ride-safety-tips/375259723?utm_source=ITPS+Amusement+INdustry+News&utm_campaign=ae9297485f-Friday_7_1_167_1_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_51d9c64022-ae9297485f-231732317
  13. No I didn't want to waste the time as it can be hard finding my size even at Walmart. It was a pleasant day and I was able to find a some shady spots so I just people watched, read on the phone and even got a bit of nap in. when we headed over there we intitially just planned for an hour but they were having fun so we stayed until 6. I think we will do KI next week and are thinking about an overnight stay the 11-12 for my youngest's birthday. Now I am trying to figure out where to stay and what kind of ticket pass to get my wife. The boys and I have platinum, but to take advantage of Soak City and ERT we need to get her one and stay offsite or stay at a CF property and get daily admission for her. Either way will cost a lot. I am leaning toward just getting her a platinum and getting a $80 room, that way we might be able to bring her for day trip or two to KI in the fall as well. When staying up in Sandusky, depending on how close you want to be to the park, there are some cheaper hotels (Non CF property) that are just a great place to lay your head down and helps with the budget. Check America's Best Value Inn (it's an older hotel but not in terrible shape).
  14. I prefer Power Tower to Drop Tower...it's the ability to be thrusted up for me. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  15. Glad you had a great time! I'm heading there on Tuesday! Did you go back or stop somewhere to get new shorts? Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  16. I want to say they only have to submit plans for what is being worked on.....to me the layout could be changed. Again, just my thought, not fact.

  18. Shoot the Rapids trademark is still live..... http://www.trademarkia.com/shoot-the-rapids-85002635.html maybe that'd be this new attractions name? Just kidding! I think it'd be terrible!
  19. I'm not making any statements on what I think it is....just providing information. Someone above me stated that the chain had to be center.
  20. Lift chains do not have to be centered...for example look at Outlaw Run. Source
  21. If you go the Orange route to the resort gate you'll pass the Soak City gate....yeah there are 2 gates in that area which can be confusing. I just recently started using that lot/route and I love it...you beat the crowds to the back of the park
  22. Sorry for the double post, but wanted to make sure there was a notification of the updated info: To get to the Soak City Lot: You may have to tell the folks at the tolls you are heading to the Soak City Lot for the resort gate. Follow the red line around to the lot: To get to the resort gate from the Soak City Lot, there are 2 options, I suggest following the orange line for a good view of Magnum:
  23. There's no real way to tell that until you are there. Out of my numerous visits, I've yet to see a security check at the resort gate where King Ding Dong would be entering.
