Decoding Episode II: Rivertown 2017 and the Falling Trees
Creed Bratton replied to jcgoble3's topic in Kings Island
When I think of old pick up trucks in the woods I think of some horror movies. -

I'm interested in the color of the trucks.....maybe that'll be the color of the train(s)? -

That would be cool, but I would still like the big log flume back even more. It's practically made for the rivertown section. What was the old log flume called back where the crypt was? Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal Here's a thread all about it: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/10502-kentons-cove-keelboat-canal-topic/ -

For anyone wondering, I did check with Don via email about RSVP'ing for the announcement. He said that there isn't an RSVP for it, it's open to all guests like Banshee's announcement. -

I think it's interesting that we're having an announcement in July.....in previous years announcements were spread through the month of August and even in September (Soak City). What has happened in the past doesn't mean it'll happen in the future. Just an observation. -

At least they aren't the stumps that are joked about by the train folks. -
All of the information has been kind of mum. For good reasons. Anything about the sensors/lift hill issues have all been rumor. It is likely that the recall from Wildfire was quickly remedied with a different set to replace the originals, or something. Dollywood is also in a different country than Wildfire so the United States may have a different way/standard of dealing with recalls. On this I don't know...just guessing. The original recall could be ongoing.
-
Definitely not the sensors....never was. We don't know for a fact that Wildfire is using the same cylinders or not.

Still just rumors. It's the middle of July and there hasn't been any word or indication the ride will be close at all this month. -

I'm assuming it depends on their contract. There could be different terms that could prevent Dollywood/Herschend from suing RMC. We also don't know what's going on behind the scenes between RMC and Dollywood/Herschend.

Why take the launch out if that's not the issue? The issue is the cylinders on the trains not the launch....so why take it out? If they can't resolve the cylinder issues they may not be able to continue supplying their own trains and there may be other issues that pop up (with contracts for example).

It looks like Dorney is also doing Christmas In July http://bit.ly/dpchristmasinjuly Not really to the scale of what Kings Island is going to have.

Tower 2, still saving the story for when I have time to actually type it out.
-
Uh, what? It clearly looks bent to me. The front edge (closest to the camera) initially goes straight up, then abruptly tilts about 15° to 20° to the viewer's left. That's what I call "bent". It's all about perspective From Dane Thomas

Not everyone here has Twitter, not everyone has the ability to check it out of a whim. Please start linking things to Twitter here if you are going to talk about them in your posts. -
I've had similar experience with pebbles.
-
It doesn't look bent, it just looks like the steel expands at the top. Here is Wave Swinger at Cedar Point during Winter Chill Out. My guess, it is getting ready for rehab.

Are there any pictures of preparations already taking place? Would love to see them!

Would be an awful low stall if it were for that.....which I don't believe it is. -

Can you please include a screenshot of things that you see on Twitter? Not everyone knows what you are talking about. -
I can......one day I'll share. Maybe during a certain season.
