  1. The Beast is a Coaster Landmark through ACE: http://www.aceonline.org/CoasterAwards/?type=3 Modifications to the trains on Blue Streak are what caused it to lose the status from what I understand, see Jason Hammond GOCC's president's post here: https://pointbuzz.com/Forums/Topic/interesting-observation/2#558845
  2. Same here! I didn't feel like I needed a seat belt but I kept it on! It would be common sense to keep it on. Common sense isn't so common any more.
  3. If they were to announce something that week I bet it would be on the 28th, being a Thursday.
  4. I know it may not mean much, but I believe The Beast is an ACE Landmark Coaster.....so changing the trains would take that distinction away I'm sure. Not that many folks care about it, but the large number of ACE members may.
  5. Hey welcome to the thread We are anticipating an announcement, would it happen on the first day of the event, July 25th (a Monday) or one of the other days of the week?
  6. Because we're already talking about it in another thread
  7. I'm not talking just about the plastic cups though.
  8. May seem out of the blue, but these events don't just happen. They've probably been planning it since last year at the latest. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  9. I still think they just need to put all season drink on passes. Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  10. Really no indication for any of the "events." I wonder if they have the capability for movies in Timberwolf. It'd be good to see that area of the park used again. I'm going to assume most of the stuff though will be in Planet Snoopy (as far as crafts, Santa and North Pole mailing).
  11. Depends on the day pal. I know earlier in the season, the line was about a 1/2 hour due to the ERT crowds. Not sure how it is now though.
  12. The trips I've been to the park and rode FOF they were not assigning seats. They may do it because there are too many folks scheduled for the ride at that time, it's a part of a rotation. They can only have so many folks on the floor checking restraints. Just a thought....may or may not be the reason.
  13. Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is now open per their Facebook page. I don't know if we'll see what the investigation finds, but I know with the incident at Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster, there were at least 2 witnesses that saw the woman remove her seat belt before being thrown from the ride.
  14. I'd even say seeing the views at Carowinds
  15. Bahaha....I'm assuming since I know calakapepe he's talking about all.
  16. The Coaster at Goats on the Roof is shut down at this point now. http://www.local8now.com/content/news/Second-mountain-coaster-shut-down-following-accident-386661391.html?utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook_WVLT_Local_8 Apparently, the owner didn't notify the state that someone broke an arm while riding. Happened the same day. Both of these incidents seem to be human error on the guest side.
  17. Being discussed over here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/32221-christmas-in-july-2016/?p=739793
  18. Paper cups is extremely expensive and a would be a huge problem in waste management. Are they really that expensive? You would think with an exclusive contract there would be some sort of deal on cups and supplies. Maybe if the parks would ramp up recycling of the paper cups too would help in cost.
  19. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Christmas-in-July Santa, Movies, Crafts and Fireworks!
  20. Getting parts and erecting a new set are completely different things. See Arrow Suspended Coasters i.e. The Bat.....Arrow is out of business but parts are still available thanks to S&S.
  21. See the full story here: http://m.cleveland19.com/19actionnews/db_330498/contentdetail.htm?full=true&contentguid=u8sOutMd&pn=&ps=#display This is part of the reason I didn't buy a cup. Also, because I don't want to carry it around and then put it in a locker. I'm reminded of my conversation with Jason McClure at Winter Chill Out....I suggested putting all season drinks on a season pass instead of having the cups..he seemed interested in the idea and suggested I emailed him as well as having others email him with the suggestion. Maybe it's time to do so? Edit: I also see that VR is going to be more widely available: http://www.ohio.com/blogs/airtime/airtime-1.489637/cedar-point-s-iron-dragon-takes-a-virtual-turn-roller-coaster-to-have-vr-headsets-at-night-1.696692
  22. The company that made the ones at Cedar Point and Kings Island (moved from Coney Island) no longer makes the rides.....in fact got out of that business in the early 2000s it looks like. I believe this is part of the reason the park got rid of them: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/29293-sky-ride-accident-anniversary-42477/?p=610429
