  1. Mean Streak had a fair amount of retracking, several years actually. They also had some going on before the ride opened to the public/after the season started. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I stumbled upon a page on Facebook that features Westland Mall in Columbus. https://www.facebook.com/westland.mall.5/ Searching through pictures, I came across the following, featuring Kings Island In Motion Show......anyone have more info on it? *Note the ride models below the stage. *I do not know who owns these pictures*
  3. I'm wondering now, how will Season Pass Sales for the 2018 season go with Winterfest starting in 2017....will the major sales be during the same time it is now, before the end of October or will they be before the end of the calendar year?
  4. I follow a few pages on Facebook dedicated to Geauga Lake. Some claim the ride could be dismantled and stored until someone bought it to rebuild. Would it even be worth the cost to dismantle and store? Would the ride be in well enough shape to do so? Side note, some reports coming in that the ride has started to be demolished. 5. Be sure to check out the work being done on Mean Streak. Word on the street (in pictures) is that they are attaching steel cross beams to the pre-lift section already. There are.
  6. Wasn't sure if this was the right area to post, but why not! So as I'm looking through a magazine I received in the mail, I noticed an ad for S&S Sansei Technologies is offering a few new and response coaster concepts. They are featuring a Twisted Looper a response to the B&M Wing Coaster, a Free 4D Spin Coaster (has been out for a bit) a response to the Intamin Zacspin Coaster, a Family Inverted Coaster a response to what I can tell a Vekoma Suspended Family Coaster and a 3L Launch Coaster of which I can't recall if there are similar styles out there for S&S to respond to. Here is the ad: So a few questions to pose, what do you think of the offerings? Do you see any being installed anywhere close to us? Are these concepts enough to get their products out there? 7. Should have been at the park sooner.
  8. So I know they have plans in place, but I just looked at pictures from WDW before the closure.....and it got me thinking, what do they do with the animals in Animal Kingdom on the safari?
  9. Again, I believe it's the truck that's working at the Mystic Timbers site.
  10. You also may want to note that the offerings of HUSS Giant rides are much slimmer. They don't offer a Giant Top Spin anymore. Many of you are correct, the ride tore itself up. The ride cycle wasn't really dependent on the theme. It could have ran the same cycle with or without the themeing elements. The cycle could be programmed really to do anything at any point. Paramount set up the TR:TR cycle including the themeing.....once it was turned into the Crypt under Cedar Fair, a row was removed, the themeing elements were changed as was the cycle. TR:TR/Crypt in the drive box had 2 control panels. One for the show elements and one for the ride operation.
  11. I can't see the name on the truck, but it is currently working at the MT site.....and it's not RMC, it has a red-ish logo next to the name on it.
  12. I haven't seen the sandwiches at KI, so I'm not sure on the size...however the last I saw a Tom and Chee sandwich it was fairly big.....worth it.
  13. The lowest portion of Mean Streak's lift is now gone, as well as the station, transfer and pre-lift track are gone.
  14. Depends on the coaster, what's going on after that ride and how many people are in front of me for the front line. If I can get right on in another row, I'll do that, but if it's a 2 train wait for the rest of the train and a few extra for the front row I'll wait for the front row.
  15. From the pictures I've seen, there is at least one of the blue Gerstlauer trains in Coney Maul.
  16. I think it would be hard for them to plan and staff it for this winter at this point of the year. Big events take a lot of planning, a lot of work behind the scenes before the ground work you even see when setting up and then implementing. See Haunt meetings starting in June/July.
  17. Didgeridoos? *cough cough* I wear a waterproof watch all the time in waterparks, including Soak City. I have never once had a lifeguard say anything about it. The concern with snaps and buttons is that they could drag along the slide and damage it, but if you're riding in the proper position, that shouldn't be a concern with the watch. On slides that require you to put your hands behind your head, you typically have to point your elbows forward to keep them off the sides of the slide anyway, which brings the watch forward and well out of harm's way. Any and all restrictions are for safety, also known as I don't get scratches on Trop Twist or Pineapple. The scratches that snaps, buttons, etc can do on a fiberglass slide seriously hurts, a lot. I know a lot of people here don't go to the waterpark (or have been) as much as I have, but trust me, it is greatly appreciated when lifeguards check for these things because it can and will hurt your back. A clock tower, seriously? I'm sorry, but that would make no sense and would stick out like a sore thumb. Sure, the placement of more clocks around the park would be great, but that's void even at the park as there is only one floral clock. You could always ask for what time it is with any of the park employees, as I am sure they will be more than accommodating to do so. Not necessarily a clock tower, but a nice clock would work and has worked in parks and water parks. Source This clock is at Waldameer. They have a clock just like this in the new addition of Waterworld. It's painted blue I think...I couldn't find any pictures of it as of now...but it's tasteful and not an eyesore. A clock or two in Soak City would be welcome...as would be the main park.
  18. NTG I think started at the end of one season, worked through the next and opened the following. Mean Streak could follow the same timeline, but there are other reasons it may not..... 1) Not a full conversion/re-profile 2) this isn't RMC's first major project so they could possibly have the art/science down well enough that it may be finished in a smaller timeline.
  19. Can I ask where you got that? Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  20. As far as Skycoaster, the only one mentioned on their website is a different style....not to mention Ripcord at CP is on the ground in pieces for the move to wherever it's going. However, the crane wasn't on property from what I could tell prior to the end of Sunday night. As far as the Waterpark...maybe? Doesn't Cedar Fair partner with Adena Corporation for a majority of their installations?
  21. Well apparently it is not closing. From Bowcraft http://myemail.constantcontact.com/BOWCRAFT-AMUSEMENT-NEWS-.html?soid=1101665622042&aid=7LKUVxEPD-4 Sent from the cellphone Zach Morris used in Saved By The Bell using Tapatalk
  22. I visited once.....to ride Crossbow...it wasn't open....one train was under a tarp.....we walked the park, walked the platform of Crossbow, turned around and headed to our next destination. This was in 2011. Here are some pics for that stop: *Disclaimer* we did ask what appeared to be a full-timer if we could go on the loading platform and were told yes as long as we didn't touch anything.
  23. My ride early on this year....it was terrible....I was spent afterwards. As far as Mean Streak, I got my last ride this past Friday...wasn't terrible...wasn't great. I did receive a button! I hope at this point the speculation turns out to be correct. I had an absolute blast at the Point this weekend, even getting drenched in line for TTD. Rode TTD twice this weekend with only waiting about 5-10 minutes both times. The 2nd time was in the front row!
  24. https://www.tapinto.net/towns/scotch-plains-slash-fanwood/articles/scotch-plains-planning-board-to-discuss-bowcraft-11 As of this weekend, it was still open.
