From what I've heard from videos of No Coaster Con in Chicago where Pete Owens spoke, it seems like they are putting in all efforts to get it fixed to run more reliably. I have a friend who works in the rides office who has said the park has been in constant contact with RMC/third-parties as work is completed to ensure it runs smoothly. We won't know until closer to time whether it'll be open or not which kind of stinks.

I agree with that but I'd also hope that they'd have a lemon chill stand too.

Whither Conneaut Lake Park Now?

Conneaut Lake Park Leaders Approve Management Company http://www.meadvilletribune.com/news/local_news/conneaut-lake-park-leaders-approve-management-company/article_5b20bba2-e80f-53df-aa58-6dca4978c48a.html?utm_source=ITPS+Amusement+INdustry+News&utm_campaign=f832ac937c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2017_01_18&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_51d9c64022-f832ac937c-231732317 -
Be as confident as you can, if you don't know an answer that's okay....try your hardest to answer honestly. Don't say I don't know. Try not to say uhm a whole lot. Don't be afraid to ask them questions in relation to the job. If you do ask questions, I'd stay away from asking about benefits, pay, etc. They will cover that stuff with you more than likely from the get-go. Don't be afraid to ask, what is the favorite aspect of their job or even ask them what's the hardest part of this job, how can I be the best at this potential position. Breathe, show that you are enthusiastic but don't be so enthusiastic that you can't stand yourself. Since you are interviewing for rides, they more than likely will ask you where you'd want to work. Be honest with them. I know several people who have interviewed and worked at the park in rides....2 specific examples with this stick out. Person 1 was asked, "what rides would you like to work?" Their answer, "anywhere." Person 2 was asked the same question and answered "I really don't want to work with young kids, so I'd prefer not to work in Planet Snoopy." Flash forward to the beginning of the season, Person 1, was placed in Planet Snoopy......quit a few weeks into it because they really didn't want to work with kids.....Person 2 was placed at Diamondback and worked as long as they were able to. All that to say, if you seriously don't want to work at a certain place, they're not really going to mark you as unhireable because of it....they'll just have to place you where they see fit and try to not place you at the place you don't work. Although it's never 100% guaranteed you'll end up where you want to. It depends on staffing levels when you interview. Hint, I was Person 2. There's probably other stuff I'm forgetting right now, but feel free to PM me anytime you have questions before hand or even after.

Cedar Fair Coaster Trends
Creed Bratton replied to SonofBaconator's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I guess my question is what is the point of creating a spreadsheet of these installations? If you are looking for specific trends, I caution anyone with thinking just because an installation happened after x or y, to not get their hopes up. History does sometime repeat itself, however, in the world of parks, it's not always the case...folks looking at trends for installations were believing that Kings Dominion would be getting a new roller coaster this year because of x, y and/or z. They were highly disappointed to learn that those x, y, and/or z factors didn't necessarily lead to a new coaster. -
There isn't always more of them. They have a staff for special events like this, some are there for registration some are there for activities later in the day...while some folks are able to work 12+ hour shifts, not everyone is able to (minor labor laws, full time vs part time), etc. It's more of people need to actually follow directions when they register as Magenta Lizard said.....the people who fail to do so, made the lines much much longer. But then again, they don't even have to do the event for us.

The distance and the man in the reflective coat are exactly what's messing with my perspective. Lol I didn't even see them in the station....thanks for pointing them out!
-
It's just a waiting period....but trust me, you'll want to be there at 6:30, because if not, you'll be standing in a long long line waiting to get checked in. The team does a great job checking everyone in, but it does take some time.
-
For some reason, this doesn't look tall enough for me...I can't really tell where the actual platform is....I feel like I'd be ducking down as I walked into the station.
-
^^ The menus will likely be released closer to the date and/or at the event.
-
It's not going to be a drop track. Very very likely.
-
As a few have already said, it's essentially standard water line for the station......Diamondback has a water line running to it, in fact there generally is a garden hose towards the back of the station on the unload side. It likely will be hooked up to the main water lines. Also think of the location, it's not too far from RFYLCB.

Glad you got it! Way to be excited!

We send out membership cards at various times, there really isn't a set schedule of when.....with the holiday season now being over, it should be sent out soon. You will receive them before Coasterstock and the normal season. The membership start date will be reflected when they are sent out. Please send me a PM with the information you used to begin your membership and I'll figure out when you should be receiving your membership credentials.

Don't forget the ride is themed to a lumber company that is being taken over by vine overgrowth like medusa as nature takes back it's land. (Info from the press release announcing the ride).

So looking at the random photo thread, I saw a post from TopGun1993 that made me want to start this thread. The reason? He posted a photo of the "station"/Pit area of Thunder Alley......out of all of my trips to Kings Island before the attractions removal, I never did it. I could say that I regret it just for the fact of it being a missed experience. I feel like I missed out on some great views of Son of Beast (operational and not). So my question is, is there something you did or didn't do at Kings Island (or any other park for that matter) that you regret? Why?
-
Wait you love the water cannons at WWC? Wouldn't have known! Haha!
-
More than likely will not have either.....Thunderhead just has brakes in the station and transfer shed. Those items don't necessarily help with capacity, clearing the blocks, having fast/safe crews and no bins will do that.

Where would you want KI to build their Giga? (if they do)

Look at your avatar.....black and gold? Something your avatar doesn't go with.
