  1. I've heard rumor that he will still be in park, but will be traveling more. Just "word on the street."
  2. Saw a few pictures and they are essentially standing on the corners on the Causeway, not crossing the road.
  3. As far as the International Street Fountain upgrades that has been talked about since Matt Ouimet came into the picture for Cedar Fair. I remember talking with Don (I think it was him) about upgrading the fountain and was told we basically have that option but we have to see where to put the capital, would it be better to repave the parking lot, add pavers to ___, etc. or upgrade the fountains that still work well.
  4. Out of the times that I've visited the park, the first few featured heavy lines with a lack of man power behind the counters. The quality of the food was not terrible. I enjoy the food at Reds, but think the experience takes too long. To wait 40 + minutes for a majority of salads at the table is quite insane. I did try out the Gluten Free Chicken Fingers at Coney Potato Works and they honestly were the best chicken fingers I've had at the park. My biggest pain with the food department at KI is the location of the self-serve soda machines in restaurants. Some of them are too close to the cash registers and the line of food. It is a pain having others jump next to you to get their refills when you're trying to balance your tray, food and get payment out.
  5. I would think that RMC work at the Mean Streak site would actually be done by contractors not employed by the park, same with Hotel Breakers.....I could be wrong but that's just my guess. Either way, I hope that this gets settled quickly and that the park is ready to open on time in 2017.
  6. I agree! The program is wonderful! I happily added it to my pass for next year.
  7. Heck I think I'd do an upcharge for a Whip.
  8. I had a dream a few months ago, that I was back working for the park and was required to do a lift walk on Diamondback (that I've done in real life)...as I walked the lift I became more and more nervous as I reached the top. Up there I looked around, observed and listened for the trains as they were testing (which wouldn't happen in real life). Suddenly a huge wind blew and my harness came undone, sending me toward the ground near the soccer game. All of the sudden, I heard 3, 2, 1, fly and heard screams coming my way. No sooner did I look, the person on Xtreme Skyflyer, connected with my falling body, caught me and we proceeded to land safely. I hope it's a little bit longer until my next lift walk. Even it it's not, I'll make sure to double and triple my safety mechanisms.
  9. I'd rather see flats go into other areas of the park....I don't want to see Rivertown being over saturated with rides.
  10. I try to forget this ride and so does my body.
  11. I still don't know why a ton of people need lockers or need to bring their entire house into the park with them.
  12. Boss and Cornball Express are my favorites of CCI's that I've ridden.

  14. I still wish that the all season drinks would be an addon for the actual pass instead of having a cup.
  15. When you want to skip work to go to a park.
  16. I think it was about 5-6 times this year. I spent more time at Cedar Point.
  17. I renewed my pass through Cedar Point, but did the add ons of All Season Dining and FunPix. I'm doing it through the easy pay program which will end up being about $32 a month. I also did the autorenewal program. I think all 3 programs are good options. (Note I didn't get the all season drinks because I dislike that you have to carry a cup and then pay for lockers to store them if you don't want them stolen).
  18. I read something earlier (can't find it) where they were going to be trying to recreate the accident with water dummies. No plans on opening the park this week as of now.
  19. I recall seeing a recent post on another site with a picture of the STR site being ripped up, so that is a somewhat logical possibility, as any other possible place would be a really tight fit. I wouldn't imagine that it is all that expensive to install it, so maybe it would be a temporary install until they decide to put something more permanent on that site?I also have heard speculation that it could go to the new Sports Park. My wife and I rode the version at SFSTL some 20 odd years ago but not since. I did notice buried on their website a few years ago they had an all season pass pass offer for it so for about $60 you could ride it one time each visit to the park. I don't think my boys are ready for it yet, but if they were and CF offered something similar I would really consider it. I have seen a recent post as well where the STR site is being ripped up. All of the rumors I've heard from various sources have been that RipCord would be relocated there. They are keeping it on Point...from what I understand it won't be going to Sports Force.
  20. There's actually been a lot of work done, installation has begun. A lot of track and supports have been removed. The deconstruction/construction that has been completed so far is in line with how RMC did work on Cyclone at SFNE. As far as just because they installed Valravn this year doesn't mean they're not going to debut another ride next year....what has happened in the past doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the same this year or next. Introducing the longest "Wooden" roller coaster in the world! From Maverick to Millenium Force. It's Mean Streak R3BORN!!Isnt the track that has been arriving RMC's I Box track? Yes it's I Box!
  21. While this isn't Kings Island, this will give you some ideas of things to come in 2017: WinterFest Debuts At California's Great America November 25
  22. I'm personally thinking it'll be for 2017....typically season pass sales get extended about a day or two after the season ends...I think they'll announce soon after Halloween to sweeten the deal for passes.
  23. Here are a few pictures posted from Geauga Lake on Facebook (not affiliated with the actual Geauga Lake) Drone Footage from above...the station is still standing. I believe the Lift Hill was to the left of the picture. From Tim Williams on a Facebook Group called geauga lake's funtimes https://www.facebook.com/groups/328339562737/?ref=br_tf&qsefr=1
  24. I'm so glad you said you witnessed your first diamondyak! When I worked on the ride, I had to walk out to the brakes next to the storage track (because we went down) to check on everyone. As I stepped toward the back of the train, someone leaned over and yak'd everywhere. I told a coworker, we have a Diamondyak out on the brakes. Thanks for bringing that memory back haha.
