A Quick Question about the Hotel Breakers at Cedar Point
Dbfan replied to BeastForever's topic in Trip Reports
I believe they have a small donut stand in one of the shops in the lobby, I just grab two of those on my way out and eat them while I walk to the entrance. -
Maybe somebody could ask at the 5@..Wait...Nevermind. I think its just a thing for company picnics, you find a sign, degrees lead you to other trees with signs, and you finish somewhere.

Holiday World... New Coaster?
Dbfan replied to Coney Islander's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
They may not have had a coaster in 5 years, but look at since then: 2 record breaking rides, Brand new trains on the Voyage (Hopefully by the end of this year) and more. It might not be coasters, but they are still adding great rides. I would not be surprised to see a small ride enter HW next year as opposed to years past. -
I know that, but why does it say: Is the old train back or is it still 2 on voyage, one of them being from Raven.

What rides will be at KI when you bring your kids there?
Dbfan replied to KI FANATIC 37's topic in Kings Island
I really hope to let my first kid enjoy there first roller coaster on The Beastie. Hopefully it is still up by then. My predictions: Racer still operating X-Base expanded with a new coaster and a flat and....Bathrooms! Beast no longer there, now a blank land open for development SOB and Flight Deck gone, expanded Action Zone with a flat and a small wild mouse ride. Thats Kings Island in 15 years I think... -
Darn, looks like my *wait till the end of July to go to Holiday World because it almost guarantees the Timberliners will be ready by then" hypothesis did not work out. Oh well, at least I will get to experience the Voyage a couple times with its original trains. I thought the Voyage trains got shipped out? Did they ship them back once they realized the Timberliners would take longer than realized?

Here is how I have done it to my friends. Just try Diamondback. If you like it, it will give you the confidence to ride everything else since its the biggest in the park. If you dont like it, then go to The Racer, then Vortex, then beast, then FOF, then try Diamondback again.

Im not voting, I have only ridden one, ill let you guess which one...

I think SOB's closing is really hurting this rides ridership too, its a long walk all the way back there, just for that. When SOB was open, I would always ride both of them 2-3 times in the morning, with a ride on Drop Tower and Deliruim, and not return to Action Zone for the rest of the day.

Worst park experience? I would have to say Islands of Adventure. I went there once, and I was 47 and 3/4 inches tall. Of course I missed the 48 inch on their roller coasters. At the time I was afraid of Water Rides (Still something im a little scared of today, the no restraint thing doesnt go well with me) so no Jurrassic park. I pretty much had to spend the day riding MIB, Spiderman, and Dr. Doom. It is to this day the most dissapointing trip to a theme park I had ever had. Its not the parks fault, I guess mine for not growing fast enough. Worst Park has to be Six Flags St. Louis, it has been awhile, so I dont know if it has changed, but I remember it as very very dirty and smelly when I was there.

Ive seen portable Wild Mouses and log flumes before at the Indiana State Far, but never something on the scale of that coaster. Looked like a very fun carnival. Good TR.

Welcome to KIC! And very nice name.

^ Think of how dirty that water would get...

New for Holiday World 2011: Timberliners on Voyage!
-
How about just a building which inside shows the timeline of KI, with pictures, and maybe some cars. I think it is a little much entire trains. That takes up lots of space.

I used to love those remote controlled cars. They used to have those everywhere. My favorite was the boats, I believe in Oktoberfest.

Walt Disney World: New Park?
Dbfan replied to coaster_junky's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I could see a Disney Theme Park with thrills, but somehow I don't see it with Disney World. I see them building a large offsite park in Orlando to compete with Sea World and Universal for Thrill rides. Large coasters would just ruin the scene of Disney for me. -
Welcome to KIC With your long resume of park jobs, I have to ask, are you employeed by KI?
-
Great TR! You are extremely lucky to walk on Firehawk, good call on going to that first. I have ridden in once in the 7-8 visits to the park since its opening purely becuase of the long lines. And the guy with the DB rides was Gary Coleman (Not the actor). I don't believe he posts here but many members know him and have enjoyed rides with him.

Quick question to those of you much older than me. What were the old effects of the queue/ride? I recall seeing warning signs about smoke lightning and all that, and it looked like the queue went under the station and had effects. Of course now that is all gone. Any of you want to tell me what these effects were?

I like Db colors, but its the repeating of those colors on what seems like all new CF coasters that makes me mad. I want something unique. Maverick-Red and White Intimidator-Red and White Diamondback-Red and Yellow I305-Red and Yellow TTD: Red, Yellow, and white. Seeing a pattern?

The hill of Sob, although probably the biggest waste of money, is the best part of the ride now. Who's idea was it to not only got that high, but stay that high for a long time? And its the best part of the ride now because its the only thing you can experience. Looking at it.

Am I the only one that thinks HW is growing a bit too fast? Since 2006, they have added significant additions each year, and another hopefully coming in 2011. I really enjoy Holiday World, but I hope it doesn't lose the family atmosphere with too many large additions.
