  1. Like other members have said, waiting in line alone can be either the worst thing ever or the best thing ever, depending on what you make of it. I recall waiting in line for two hours for Flight of Fear alone twice. The first time I kept to myself and didn't talk to anyone, and by the time I got to the station I was so bored I tried counting the number of people in line. Thesecond time, I ended up striking up a conversation with some very nice people in front of me, and by the time I got to the station I kinda wanted to follow these people around for the rest of the day. The one thing I've learned about going to a park alone is that there's no reason why my being shy should get in the way of having a good time, and so I don't let it.
  2. But what type of monster? LordSkippy, browsing through the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons Second Edition Monstrous Manual.
  3. Oh, the joys of KICentral. I absolutely love it. LordSkippy, snacking on some delicious chocolate chip cookies.
  4. Obviously Project 2014 is a parking garage. Obviously.
  5. Well then I guess you'll never experience the magnificence of the Knoebels Carousel.
  6. Does this sound familiar: A new coaster is coming to a park you frequently visit, and on said park's most popular fan site certain members get into a debate on coaster companies, but nine months later when the ride opens nobody gives a flying feather because the ride is fun and a new coaster by a company that's not your favorite company is better than no new coaster at all. The stubbornness of some people is amazing.
  7. The whole B&M vs Intamin debate is completely irrelevant. To be honest, I don't care if a ride was designed by a conglomerate of the greatest coaster designers in history or an insurance salesman; what matters is the ride experience, and anyone who claims one company always provides a better ride experience than the other doesn't round round get around enough.
  8. Once, a ride op tried to convince me The Racer was the oldest ride in the park. Yeah, no. If I'm not mistaken, it's not even the oldest coaster in the park as Woodstock Express opened the same year, albeit under the name Scooby Doo.
  9. EDIT: Double post. I blame mobile.
  10. With the way the footers are currently grouped, I'd be surprised if Project 2014 didn't in some way go over Adventure Express.
  11. Rumor has it Kings Island is getting a new ride. Yeah, right. I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. To anyone complaining about the off-topic nature of this thread, I've seen threads derail far more badly far before ever hitting 5,000 posts, especially on non-KIC sites. I mean, if you think THIS is off-topic, please don't ever visit a popular retro video gaming message board. Personally, KIC is one of the most productive and on-topic forums I've ever had the pleasure of being a member of, and it's always nice when a topic like this comes up and kinda creates a mass consciousness, in a way. For all of its flaws, this topic always seems to provide a good read, and, if only for that, I enjoy the speculation.
  13. That was for that new-fangled Twitter contest thing.
  14. I think it's far more likely that they need easy access to the construction site through the park.
  15. YouTube user AdamTheWoo does similar videos, albeit in a more lighthearted fashion. I'm pretty sure he has a video of LeSourdsville Lake.
  16. More footers! Woohoo! On the topic of scarecrows, maybe they know something we don't. What if their heads don't do no thinking? LordSkippy, channeling a tiny bit of dearly departed Mr. Barrett.
  17. Whatever Project 2014 is, please let it have a banana roll.
  18. Maybe Kings Island isn't getting anything for 2014 and Cedar Fair is just perpetuating the greatest hoax in amusement park history. Hey, it could happen.
  19. Yeah, Conneaut Lake Park by far. It's such a surreal place, I almost have a hard time believing I didn't dream the whole thing up. The thing that stands out most in my mind is the carousel. Before the ride began, I had a pleasant conversation with the ride operator (which I find strange in and of itself) but when he went and started the ride, he left. I kid you not, left the carousel building and only came back to stop the ride a good five minutes later. I didn't ride the dark ride at time (Devil's Den, I think?) because I was absolutely frightened by the dilapidation on the facade, a decision I now regret.
  20. This discussion is pertinent to my interests.
  21. I highly doubt this coaster will be an animal rights activist. (Perhaps it should be pentacoaster?)
  22. There's a possibility, but I seriously doubt it. Welcome to KIC, by the way!
  23. There's just no pleasing some people, is there? Anyway, my snack of choice for this thread is chocolate chip cookies. Anyone want one?
  24. While we're on the subject of Disney parks, I have to say, Magic Kingdom is my favorite park by far. Why? Ain't no other Disney park with an Enchanted Tiki Room. (Except for Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland in California, but that's besides the point.) Although to be completely honest, transportation to the Magic Kingdom is laughable. First you gotta park your car, then you have to take a tram to the Transportation & Ticket Center, then you gotta take a monorail or ferryboat, and THEN you can enter the park. When it's all said and done, it's probably about a half hour process between pulling in to the Magic Kingdom parking lot and actually entering the park.
  25. ^ Clearly meant to confuse us further.
