    I agree, bad idea.
  2. Am I the only person that thinks this and Dinosaurs Alive are alienating the newest 'blockbuster' attracton, WindSeeker? WindSeeker and Vortex will literally be the only two attractions at the end of Coney not themed to dinosaurs. I quite honestly am trying to stop thinking of all the crying children, strollers, and parents berating the staff because they have to pay extra to get into Dinosaurs Alive that will be at the end of Coney this season.
  3. I love my retro Arrow suspended coasters. Behind that are probably terrain woodies.
  4. I would absolutely love to have one of those. Though I do imagine it's very unlikely anybody cares enough to have them taken out of the wall. Were those faces always that light grey color, or were they repainted when Scooby-Doo came in?
  5. Did you use a flashlight to peer in? I've never been able to see them with only the lights provided in the hallway.
  6. I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but the old Diamondback gift shop next to the splashdown is now a guessing booth. Out in front of the Crypt and in the old International Street photo booth is a snack place called "Nutty Buddies" or something like that. Somewhat ironically, what seemed to be the most popular items on the menu had nothing to do with nuts. One thing that was unsurprisingly the same was Tower Gardens. Same old rotting foam rocks, nodescript marble pads, lack of water, weeds growing between the pavers, and overall abandonment.
  7. Most of the signs in Coney have gotten a new coat of paint and some have been relocated-Monster's is now atop the ride-op booth and Dodgems' is to the right of the entrance. Speaking of signs, WindSeeker's sign does not fit the Coney theme, but it looks nice anyway. The building next to the Flight Commander queue is now an Icee stand. The Subway in Coney looks like it lost some seating, and some of the shingles have been replaced. The arcade on the left side of the X-Base pathway now has a Plinko game. Speaking of games, the giant stuffed gorillas have been replaced by Bob Marley bananas. The Beast's lift hill appears to have some new Saw-esque music. Don't know if this was a perminant change, but the lights in The Beast's second tunnel were on. The Coca-Cola Oasis' giant bottle has been replaced by two bottle-shaped sheets of plastic with water running down them. As ParkMake mentioned, Boo Blasters has also got some improvements. The fog effects are working, there are a few new ghosts placed throughout the ride, and the mummy at the beginning doen't float out at you-rather, it tries to, but is blocked my a metal gate.
  8. Allow me to count the problems I have with this commercial... Bred to shred sounds like either a slogan for a skateboard or a paper shredder. The rap is cheesy, to say the least. Most of the CGI animations are for coasters at other parks. The rap is really, really cheesy. I almost seems like they tried to make it cheesy. Son of Beast, the ride which the park is (seemingly) trying to make the general public forget about, is featured in it. Did I mention the rap is cheesy? The kid at :05 can apparentl shoot a CGI WindSeeker out of his knuckle. Finally, the rap is exponentially cheesier than the entire 'Fun and Only' idea. Oh, and also, the rap is cheesy.
  9. So...where is this greenhouse? In one of the old Lion County Safari buildings?
  10. Is the Steeplechase a legitimate Steeplechase roller coaster?
  11. Isn't that from the Wish Upon a Star segment containing The Beast?
  12. I got a cool pillow at the Age, Weight, or Birth Month game in Coney Mall. Also, I don't know if this counts as 'winning,' but a ride-op on the Crypt once gave me a stuffed gorilla when I was walking down the exit path.
  13. On the Fox webcam, are Zephyr's lights turned on or is it just a trick of the light?
  14. Is that the real Racer, or just a model? Either way, great picture!
  15. As other members have mentioned in this topic, coaster statistics were slightly exaggerated way back when. Which park would you rather go to, one with a roller coaster 94 feet tall, moving at 61 miles per hour, or one with a coaster 88 feet tall, moving at 53 miles per hour? Though, the discrepencies in the statisticts could be due to the fact that the ride hadn't been built yet.
  16. They're on the map...or rather, the Euro-Bungees are.
  17. What about the maintence costs? EDIT: Terpy beat me to it.
  18. Would you please explain to me why the future of Son of Beast is a matter of life or death? If it really was a matter of life or death for any park guest, there is no way it would reopen.
  19. I'm sure this will be a nice addition to the park. Will I ever go through this? Most likely not. Five dollars is a good amount to put towards an ol' Funnel Cake. I wonder how good these animatronics will be.
  20. I believe he means psycoaster-a ride so emotionally terrifying its psycho. See: Thirteen at Alton Towers.
  21. From the Journal News article: "The attraction will be the "biggest of its kind in the world" and be open for the start of the 2011 season, according to KI spokesman Don Helbig." If it is a walkthrough (which I now think it will be), it'll have to be a long path.
  22. I still believe it's highly unlikely that whatever it is will open on opening day. From the looks of it, construction is only beginning, and unless it's a nature trail (which I dobut-see red shipping container) much more work will need to be done. Can it be done? Possibly. Is it likely? From my personal experience, probably not, but I'm no expert on ride construction times. The only new ride I can envision opening with the park this April is WindSeeker-though a mid-season opening would be a nice change of pace.
  23. As I've said before, it would be nearly impossbile to open this 'thing' before the park opens for the 2011 season.
