  1. You know, I'm honestly surprised at how little we know for sure regarding "the 2014 project." When the first teasers appeared in April, I expected us to have the whole thing figured out by mid-July. Well, here we are in mid-July and we're still mostly in the dark.
  2. What's so guilty about it? To me, it's just a great old-timey dark ride slash coaster type thing. What is Blazing Fury, anyway? I would assume it's considered a powered coaster with dark ride elements.
  3. As many flaws as that news clip has, it DID give us a general idea as to what to expect from "The Rivertown Project." Does that make this "The Action Zone Project?"
  4. I don't think it's a case of the accused trolls just "having different opinions." I'm fine with someone having a different opinion than me, but I'm not fine with said person trying to shove that opinion down my throat at every opportunity. For example, I'm not particularly fond of the Voyage, but I don't go around posting "voyage sucks ravine flyer 2 is better" for no good reason; I state my opinion when it is pertinent to the discussion and I do so as politely as I can muster with correct grammar, capitalization, and punctuation (and in doing so, I follow the KIC Terms of Service.) Also, I don't try to prove my opinion is right and other people's opinions are wrong when people challenge my opinion. Be civil and people will tend to be civil to you. As my signature says, "The smile that you send out, returns to you."
  5. Flying Eagles! LordSkippy, shaking his fist at Backlot Stunt Coaster.
  6. All of the clues seem to be pointing to Banshee, so clearly the ride will be named Corn: The Ride.
  7. I have yet to ride Invertigo, Drop Tower, and WindSeeker. I'm terrified of tower rides (the Eiffel Tower elevator makes me nervous) and I didn't like Sidewinder at Hersheypark or The Bat at CW.
  8. What it comes down to is this: thinking about what Cedar Point would be if the Intamin coasters were never built is irrelevant because they were installed and there's nothing we can do about it. I could understand the existence of this topic if it was an intelligent "alternate timeline" topic, but this is obviously just another attempt by YoungStud to shove his concept of Intamin superiority in our faces. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I don't care what company designed a ride as long as the ride provides a good ride experience, and anyone who thinks one particular company always provides a better ride experience than another doesn't get around enough.
  9. The likelihood of me being there is moderately high, woo-hoo.
  10. Wouldn't the upcoming midnight actually technically be tomorrow morning? Or am I still wrong on how that works?
  11. This happens every time something new is being built. You move some dirt around and pour some concrete, and everybody loses their minds. Especially members on Kings Island Central...
  12. It's the Curse of the Shuttle Loop. Every time it seems like I'm going to finally get the opportunity to ride a Schwarzkopf shuttle loop coaster, something prevents me from being able to.
  13. Call me crazy, but I'm not that big a fan of cable lifts. Sure, they're fast, but part of me enjoys the clicking of the anti-rollbacks and the slower pace you get on a chain lift. Not to mention you don't have to wait for a catch car to get all the way back down the lift hill... To me, chain lifts seem like a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."
  14. No, we'd get the job done. Just in an extremely indirect and convoluted fashion. Which makes Don's tweet even more accurate.
  15. Clearly this will be a high-tech super advanced dark ride coaster themed to the Pink Panther, containing the world's most advanced animatronic of Peter Sellers. Parts of the ride will be scattered throughout the park connected by teleporters so the ride will literally be "all over the map." Hey, it could happen.
  16. Having just gotten off Vortex about five minutes ago, I can say 5-1 is as smooth as ever. Groovy times.
  17. What are you talking about? That IS the ride.
  18. I just had a conversation with a good friend of mine who is also a Kings Island enthusiast but doesn't post here on KIC, and he told me that he's beginning to suspect that this ride will be corn themed.
  19. Using an understanding of the past to predict the future doesn't necessarily work that well in the amusement park industry, especially on as small a scale as Kings Island, 2009-2013.
  20. No. It's going to be super awesome. LordSkippy, having a groovy old time.
  21. Wait, Cedar Point may be getting a dark ride? What is the meaning of this blasphemy? But seriously, considering they don't have Disney Imagineers working at Cedar Point and they can't go back in time and buy a Pretzel/Bill Tracy, I don't have high hopes.
  22. Hard to believe we've hit 200 pages in a little over two months. Is that some kind of KIC record? I kinda doubt it, but I'm not sure. The more footers that pop up, the more I begin to believe the B&M Invert hypothesis. Nevertheless, I can't shake the feeling that this might be a wing coaster, despite Ouimet's promises otherwise. Anyway, here's to another 200 pages of ramblin' on. Edit: 400th post, woo-hoo! Time to celebrate by baking another batch of chocolate chip cookies, sitting back, and watching the thread go on.
  23. The only thing I'm beginning to notice is the fact that this thread has suddenly and inexplicably become far more civilized than it was twenty or so pages ago. Strange occurrence, to say the least, but pleasant nonetheless.
  24. Wow. If I had a dollar for every cancelled Disney ride/attraction/park area I would like to have seen completed, I could probably afford a one-day Magic Your Way ticket with Parkhopper. Most disappointingly, Animal Kingdom's Beastlie Kingdomme and the Fantasia-themed boat ride that would have gone with it.
  25. Oh boy! More footers! The more the merrier, I s'pose. Can only mean a bigger ride, right?
