The official "Bring the Flying Eagles home" thread.
LordSkippy replied to Shaggy's topic in Kings Island
I do love me some Flying Scooters. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to ride the ones at KI before they were forcibly extricated. -
Okay, pot. (That is what we in the business call "irony.")

If I'm not mistaken, Terp's confidence in the area still being Action Zone at the start of the season is based not upon some top-secret information, but rather on this tweet from last week, with emphasis added: (Source: https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR) One does not need to be a detective to see the area in question is clearly referred to as Action Zone, so you don't need to take Terp's word for it.

Not always. For example, one would be more correct in saying "an honorable sacrifice" as compared to "a honorable sacrifice," although h is a consonant. The English language is a mysterious thing indeed.

Cheetah Hunt leaves riders stuck
LordSkippy replied to Browntggrr's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It's not every day a relatively new high-profile coaster gets stuck on an area that's not a brake run. I fail to see how this would be a non-story minus the storm. -
Oh, how much I want to set up an experience system... - Go to Kings Island at least once. [10 Exp] - Ride one ride at Kings Island. [10 Exp] - Ride that same ride again [10 Exp] And so on, until I level up.

I fell in love with amusement parks at Kings Island. Does that count?

How long does Intamin have left?
LordSkippy replied to Doge's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I do believe a topic similar to this already exists (http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php/topic/28061-intanim-dying-a-slow-death/), but that being said, I think Intamin has long enough left. -
Post made my day.

What ride are you going to ride first in 2014?
LordSkippy replied to TheBeast1116's topic in Kings Island
Banshee, on Media Day. As for Opening Day, it's tradition to do Viking Fury first. -
Oh boy, finally a topic that gives me an excuse to talk about Fairy-Magic Funland. Several years ago whilst exceedingly bored, I wrote up the fictional history of a fictional amusement park named Fairy-Magic Funland. The gist of it was that Fairy-Magic Funland was the most ludicrously unsafe amusement park in existence, and I mean so ludicrously unsafe the park must have been cursed. Anyway, the singular roller coaster in Fairy-Magic Funland was a (fictional) kiddie coaster named Rolling Coaster (or Fairy's Flight; the park couldn't seem to decide) that had previously been located at two other parks, the first of which completely burned to the ground after the coaster was installed, and the second of which saw the coaster derail and hit two patrons and a costumed character. Dark? Absolutely, but it sure was hilarious at the time. So yeah. Rolling Coaster is quite the interesting name.

KICentral And Coaster Crew To Partner In 2014
LordSkippy replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Kings Island Central Newsroom
Since I'm assuming one must be a member of Coaster Crew to attend the to-be-announced "partnered events and outings," will all future KIC events be partnered events with Coaster Crew? I don't want to have to join a second enthusiast organization just to attend any future KIC events. -
But is it that? I can't honestly say I've ever seen Vortex trains dispatched quickly enough to where stopping a train on those block brakes would be justified.

Wow, that is one incredible picture.

I remember quite distinctly, in either 2008 or 2009 the Boomerang Bay soundtrack had an obscene amount of Beach Boys songs. I can't quite remember what percentage of the soundtrack was music by the Beach Boys, but at the time I thought it was around 15%. (I haven't been back to the waterpark very much since then, so I can't attest to whether that percentage has changed significantly in the past five years.) But I digress. Yes, I do like the incorporation of many different decades of music. After all, it made me remember the otherwise unmemorable waterpark soundtrack.

Probably exactly like that, but at Kings Island.Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week.

Seems like a bit of a stretch to call the Enchanted Voyage compass an "attraction," if you ask me. To be honest, I'm not even sure if there ever were any giant compasses in the park besides the one on top of Enchanted Voyage.

Although it might have been a bit boring, the old iteration of what is now Action River was at least somewhat relaxing - one might even say lazy.
-
Funny, I've only just now realized that there are no original rides from that area of the park still around.

Miniatur Wunderland
LordSkippy replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Yet another great reason to take a trip to Germany. -
I can guarantee you if those in charge of such decisions thought a lack of complete synchronization detracted from the general public's experience, we wouldn't have a whole topic dedicated to remnants from past attractions. That being said, there is something to be said about looking concise. Thank the stars above the AZ Water Tower screamed its last scream...

With all due respect, I don't see any way Congo Falls will be moved from AZ to Soak City. It's the only water ride on the Action Zone/Coney Mall side of International Street, and for that alone I don't see it moving.
