  1. Maybe that's why they had so many inclass "Take a Bath, Already" PSA films back then.
  2. I understood you perfectly. My brother is a DC fan, I'm Marvel. We will concede to each other if the others' comic affiliation has done well. Despite the fact I prefer Marvel comics, the Joker animatron looks great. My brother will love it.
  3. I don't think the issue is with the actual games, it's with the people who don't know how to act respectful with their prizes. Granted, the bouncing is annoying to my ears but that's just a personal pet peeve of mine, not anything I'd be making a real fuss over. However, as mentioned by another poster, I've seen balls hit people, knock food out of hands, etc. I'm not trying to suck the fun out of anyone's experience, it's just that their right to fun ends when it violates the rights of others. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk And on this, I agree with you. I wish more people would respect the rule of respect. I think in my case, (my big fuss budget is body odor), I let myself get angry and peeved over something that, though it would be nice if they used some super strength deodorant, or in one case of standing in line of FOF, perhaps decided against that onion bloom the night before, it's just not in their personal upbringing to do.I love the Ephemora A/V Geek section of archive.org. Just like everyone else, And laugh the same as everyone else at the 1950's personal hygiene films. But part of me wishes those instruction films were still in circulation.
  4. About basketballs and annoying stuff like that- I'm not fond of them, and yes, to some people they are a piain in the butt, Yet at the same time, we all have to remember not to be Cartman. Other people and their habits are going to go against our personal safe zones ( I hate using thosr words), But those people are in the park for a good time, too. I think sometimes, well, at least in this forum, we forget that other people have the right to enjoy their visit to the park too. They are also entitle to fun, games, and relaxation, and yes, even smoking in the proper areas. It's not our private domain. Sometimes I got through discussions and people are simply being cranky, like little kids who need a nap. Perhaps, well, in my case, at least, it might do to be a little fuss budgety and let go of our tiny peeves and enjoy the phenomena we have with KI. Really- how many people in the world are lucky enough to have a park nearby where we just drop in a few times a week if we choose?
  5. I was grateful when on my first KI date with the guy that ended up being my husband, he won a 4" tall pink elephant in a birthday hat. I was so glad that it was something that could fit in my pocket, and not a big huge monstosity we'd have to fuss around the park all day.
  6. I'll have to research into whose putting out the report a bit more before I make a judgement.
  7. They are a pain. I constantly have to move out of the way of a rolling basketball because someone can't handle it.....as upstop mentioned, they get passed on the midway without regard to anyone else around. Working at the park and in rides, they were always a pain because someone would always complain their ball got stolen out of the bins....people would bounce them in the station adding to the already loud platform making it hard to hear for operations. If a ball gets loose and lands on a coaster track that's an issue (when I worked at the park) the ride had to be shut down to retrieve said ball. They just screw with things. But mostly they are obnoxious. If you look at the pictures of the new stand being built, it's built right over the old smoking area. If it's not moving, I'd like my funnel cake without a side of smoke. I'm sure it is being moved because of state law (having to be a certain amount of feet away from a building entrance). I suspect, at least I hope so, that the smoking area will be moved a little further back from the walkway. As I recall, The smoking area by Lost Parents got moved further back and away from Lost Parents, perhaps its a trend going throughout the park. If they kept both things in the same place, it would be like sitting in the 'bum chairs' of a New York diner.
  8. Found out a few winters ago, they are pretty easy to make. How far away from South East Columbus do you live? Make me some? hahaThey would be cold by the time they got there. I recommend looking for the recipe on Allrecipes.com., but it makes a Huge batch, so it's best to have a lot of eaters on standby.
  9. Found out a few winters ago, they are pretty easy to make.
  10. That's a grand video. Made me smile. I like the rec idea. It doesn't have to be acres of sports fields.
  11. It was my childhood dream to own a miniature DisneyWorld model of the Nautilus, so I could- get this- use it in Lake Cumberland. Only in a kid's mind do big dreams and small dreams meet.
  12. Ok- The two DB yellow supports on the farthest left side are right where I can watch them shake as I eat fries. Thanks. I can see where it is now. What I recall, behind you as you are waiting for fries, there was a chance game? And now they are putting a funnel cake there, now?
  13. The smoking area by the Potato Works? It's across the walkway in an alcove, about 40' away..The more pictures I look at, the more I'm confused about what is going where.
  14. This reminds me of an incident where my sister and her friends trespassed to a private property to sled. Another group also snuck in and was sledding, also, but there was a rocky creek at the bottom of the hill-which is probably why the owners forbade sledding- and one of the girls from the other group fell into the ravine and broke her ankle. My sister is histrionic by nature, and thought the girl was joking, making a big deal of nothing, as she would, and grabbed her by the ankle and dragged her as a joke. The ambulance cost a lot, and the owners of the property were not pleased. It took a long time for me to explain to my sister what was wrong with the whole gig. I imagine these fellas thought there would be harmless fun. I feel bad for them. (Slightly off topic: Magenta Lizard, about The Beast in roller skates. I had a biker friend that we took to the park once, a very vomitty roller rider. We convinced him to try The Beast of all things, despite his horror of roller coasters. No no, we say, its mostly lats, it's like... "Red Barchetta" on a track. Try it. After he got off the ride, he said he wanted to gear his bikes to the tracks and ride it that way.)
  15. I've perused the Sally site, looking at their gags. They have the Running Shaggy on their site, though I don't think it's KI's Shaggy. I like 3d models in haunted houses. For me, the upkeep of the ride is important. I wonder how much Sally charges to refurbish, seeing that Boo Blasters is being so raggedy.
  16. I miss the days when there was something to look at during the train ride. The kive act was hoaky, but fun.
  17. For me it seems to bottleneck a bit. Either that, or the Slow Walkers of America are just drawn to that bridge(Speaking of which- Terp, you probably already knew this, but Bob Elliot of "Bob and Ray" has died. Sad for OTR fans.)
  18. Scanning these pictures for my friend Harry.
  19. Are the carriages on a fixed pivitol revolution, or free, like the spinning on The Monster? I have a curiousity if, during an e-stop, a passenger would be able to right themselves into a more comfortable position.
  20. Perhaps the dirt on the rails is just a temporary buffer for driving over the raised tracks. The only place I've seen any leveling of the road to the tracks is at both designated stops.
  21. I saw that, myself, when looking for the razed buildings. Okay- people were kvetching about the lack of love for Rivertown, and there you go, something's happening. Now my mind is itching with the "What would Ouimet do?" Question. I'm just getting used to having an actual park attendee in charge, and not a nickel and dime man.
  22. Long time for renovation. They replicating the Taj Mahal?
  23. The execs that come up with these schemes usually have their secretaries deal with the problem, and don't understand the irritation of dealing with someone going by a checklist. I've been keeping up with this case since it first started. From what I understand, It's the Disney theme parks that are doing this, and not the tech from the other divisions. Disney has fingers in many soups. If this scheme were to succeed and cut costs, or put more money in the decision makers pockets, the rest of the tech fields might be affected. Then you'll see the gear that holds Thor up when he flies, and he'll have that goofy blue haze that you see in Jurassic Park movies.
  24. And over cooked. Mine was burned more times than not. Boo. That type of service doesn't give any value for my chintzy bucks. I find myself going to the same eateries over and over again because, just like everyone else, I want to get what I pay for. One bad round of eats and that place is off the list. There's Frog Leg King Houston restaurant that had a great rep until it passed hands. I went there with older friends who frequented it back in the day, and I tell you, you've not seen anything until you've seen senior citizens almost break into a riot over poor food quality. Even if it was just one bad day, words get passed around. Now they only rec that restaurant to people they hate.
  25. Haha! The least they could do is paint the goalie to look like Mark Twain.
