  1. I predict some very angry guests who, after buying regular Fast Lane, realize they can't use it at all on The Beast. It will be interesting to see how well this experiment goes over.
  2. Welcome to KICentral! This is a public forum not affiliated with Kings Island or Cedar Fair. If you want any kind of answer from someone representing the park, you need to contact the appropriate person/department instead of posting in this forum. (Probably HR in your case.) With the notable exception of Don, employees that do post here are representing themselves, not the park. I'm sure Kings Island has specific guidelines about posting to public websites, which you should probably become aware of.
  3. I think the link he intended was http://lebeauleblog.com/2013/03/20/kings-island-and-the-wintertime-blues/ ^ Did you enjoy our "early spring"? (To be fair, he didn't have the option to predict 8 more weeks of winter.)
  4. More than you might think. Making vector art look good at a very small size can be tricky.
  5. It's almost certainly a cache issue related to the WordPress upgrade. (i.e. the cache of the homepage content is being stored way too long, such that the recent post data becomes stale)
  6. The proceeds from the "first riders" go to a good cause, and means much more to the beneficiaries than most of us can probably fathom.Of course it's great that charities can benefit from the "first" seats. Hopefully the "open" media day doesn't reduce enthusiasm for that auction.
  7. ^ Being official "first riders" isn't going to mean as much, then, since anyone can join a coaster club and ride it even earlier.
  8. ^ Thanks, I stand corrected. I was going by the data on usps.com.
  9. ^ The actual postal address is (since the late 90s) in Mason, and it doesn't include the Kings Mills 45034 zip code: 6300 Kings Island Dr. Mason, OH 45040 Perhaps using the historic address, with the city as "Kings Island", is part marketing and part slight to Mason. Or perhaps the park just likes the Kings Mills post office.
  10. Read post #13.
  11. ^ People still use mouse pads? Good to hear that they're going to be done "right". Perhaps throw them in with several loads of laundry as well; washing machines are often unkind to printed logos.
  12. Maybe in the area between the tower and the seats? If people saw that cage before riding, I think more than a few would choose to stay off.
  13. Just making sure... you know that KI is only open Saturday of that weekend, unless you work for the compan(ies) that have the park reserved on Sunday?
  14. It certainly won't be empty; there will be lots of school trips since this is Math & Science Week there. http://www.cedarpoint.com/group-sales/educational-programs . Definitely take advantage of early entry and the last few hours of operation. Don't be at the front of the park at 10:00am, and each lunch before/after the school trips do. When I went one of these days on a field trip in high school, crowds were decently large, but it was possible to ride everything between 10am and the trip's end at ~5pm. In general, Cedar Point stays much busier in the middle of the week than Kings Island, as it's a resort destination.
  15. ^ Personally, I'd prefer a screen-printed shirt from a quality manufacturer, even if it costs a bit more. Iron-on images tend to come off, and cheap shirt blanks look and feel cheap. For what it's worth, my favorite t-shirt blanks are probably Fruit of the Loom.
  16. Great logo! Would pick-up be possible to avoid shipping, on KI Opening Day for instance? My size varies by shirt manufacturer (American Apparel, Fruit of the Loom, Hanes, etc), so my decision would be based on which shirts are used. (It can be small, medium, or occasionally even large.)
  17. EDIT: delete this, please
  18. The first time I rode Maverick, I vowed never to ride it again. When I tried it again (much) later, leaning with the turns while protecting my head with my hands made it tolerable. Enjoyable, even. I don't think I'd ever do it at night, though. I'll have to try a front seat.
  19. Oops, I opened the duplicate topic first. A full-service restaurant returning to KI is an extremely welcome change. Hopefully they'll have a replacement for the buffet as well. (Either another buffet, or more counter service to fill the void.) Stunt Crew Grill, maybe?
  20. A full-service restaurant returning to KI is an extremely welcome change. It's certainly a major renovation, and it certainly is "Red". Rivertown Junction seems like a wise location. Hopefully they'll have a replacement for the buffet as well. (Either another buffet, or more counter service to fill the void.) Stunt Crew Grill, maybe?
  21. ^ Both types of links work fine in Firefox, for what it's worth. Perhaps you could try with that? The issue might be a Chrome extension, so you could try disabling those.
  22. Like "Breakers Bay"? (An allusion to the Hotel Breakers at CP) Or, slightly off-topic, "Hurricane Hannah's" waterpark at Geauga Lake in 2004, renamed from (Six Flags') Hurricane Harbor. (An allusion to the snack bar near CP's front gate)
  23. The organist near the end of Boo Blasters is an allusion to the Phantom Theater "Maestro". The queue room is noticeably empty nowadays.
  24. ^ Are you clicking a link that's supposed to direct you to the most recent post or the first unread post, or does this happen with all links? Does it happen with http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/21765-random-photo-of-the-day ?
