^ The character issue was a brief glitch while the domain was being changed. If you're still seeing unrecognized characters, you can fix it by "forced" reloading - CTRL+SHIFT+R on Windows/Linux, Command+SHIFT+R on Mac, or clearing by your cache from a mobile browser. Holding down the SHIFT key while reloading the page forces your browser to download the entire page again, so it's helpful if it has remembered a glitched version of a site. Because the domain switched from www.KICentral.com to KICentral.com, forum cookies and some remembered passwords have been deactivated. If your progress on a post was saved automatically, content from session(s) prior to the domain change will not be restored. If you need this post content, it's available in your browser cookies. (Feel free to PM me if you need specific help finding or reading cookies.) If you saved your password in your browser, you might need to save it again. If you forgot your password, you can retrieve it directly from your password manager. (eg. LastPass, Chrome, Firefox) Theme preferences (eg. forum background images) may have been reset. There will be brief, sporadic downtime of the forum tonight as we launch more updates to the site. At some point, a cookie change (www.KICentral.com->KICentral.com) will require everyone to log in again.

^ We're indeed working on some major site updates; stay tuned!

The barcode number on your season pass receipt should work to verify your purchase in the online store. The same barcode should scan (once) at parking tolls as well, for use on your first visit.

^ The on-ride camera will almost certainly use one.

It's working now because I temporarily patched the Tapatalk plugin to fix the bug. --- ./mbqClass/lib/read/MbqRdEtAtt.php.original 2017-03-09 05:18:29.248269536 +0000 +++ ./mbqClass/lib/read/MbqRdEtAtt.php 2017-03-09 20:26:40.000000000 +0000 @@ -75,7 +75,9 @@ if ($attachment['attach_is_image']) { $url = \IPS\Http\Url::external($attachmentBaseUrl .$attachment['attach_location']); - $thumbnail = \IPS\Http\Url::external($attachmentBaseUrl .$attachment['attach_thumb_location']); + if (!empty($attachment['attach_thumb_location'])) { + $thumbnail = \IPS\Http\Url::external($attachmentBaseUrl .$attachment['attach_thumb_location']); + } } else { The plugin erroneously assumed that IPS generates a thumbnail for every uploaded image, when it actually generates them only for large images.

CoasterMania & HoliWood Nights 2017
malem replied to malem's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
HoliWood Nights is $82 all-inclusive for the event & two days of admission, or $61 with after-4:30pm admission on Friday. There aren't any processing fees or taxes that drive the cost higher, except for the "Procrastination Tax" for on-site registration. CoasterMania tickets go on sale this morning and will sell out - perhaps very quickly. Those planning to attend should buy tickets at their earliest convenience. The cost for Cedar Point season & Cedar Fair platinum passholders is $35 plus a $5.99-$9.99 processing fee per order. -
Thanks for the heads up; it looks like the Tapatalk plugin for InvisionPower needs an upgrade to fix it. I think Dane's going to do that.

^ I got the same e-mail. There must have been a mix-up. Just reply back with who each ticket should be registered to, and they should be able to check that everything is in order.

^^ With only two servers showing up, they probably should have closed that location early and sent employees elsewhere. It's hard to draw conclusions looking at Closing Day staffing levels at a seasonal park. ^ The menus noted that dining plans don't include gratuity, but many diners likely ignored it or didn't have cash. Some KIC members carried cash at the park solely for Reds Grille tips.

The longest I've seen Panda Express's line is just under an hour, when it stretched to the front doors of the Festhaus. Guests knew they were in for a wait joining a queue that long. I'm hopeful that the new drink plans will speed up food lines in 2017; refilling souvenir cups takes a lot longer than grabbing paper cups.

Cedar Point (+ Other CF Parks) May Change All Season Drink Program
malem replied to Tr0y's topic in Kings Island
^ You should be able to order Coasterstock tickets (or a season drink plan, or FunPix), using the ticket number on your Gold Pass voucher. That number is effectively your pass number until you pick up your ID card at the park. -

^ You'll owe the 6.75% in sales tax whether you buy online or at the park. For people who haven't yet registered for Coasterstock, doing both in one transaction would be a way to avoid paying online processing fees on multiple orders. Coasterstock tickets are only sold online. -
Fast Lane Plus Season Pass
malem replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Personally, I don't see this coming to the Ohio parks. Fast Lane is a cash cow here; season passes could diminish the value that guests get for the $90+/day they already pay. That said, if it comes to KI, I'd definitely buy it. Wouldn't be hard to visit on enough Saturdays to make it worth my $1xx. -
Leafed out trees in time for Opening Day might be one benefit of the unseasonably warm "winter" we've been having.

I turned Thumbor on, which proxies external forum images through the KICentral.com server. If anyone has problems with images in posts, let me know. The benefit is that all images load over HTTPS and are automatically resized if necessary. We're also caching images, so threads don't lose their photos if an image host goes down.

I wish I could have been there, but sadly it didn't work out. Thanks for sharing such a detailed trip report!

Cedar Point (+ Other CF Parks) May Change All Season Drink Program
malem replied to Tr0y's topic in Kings Island
^ The refills wouldn't be equivalent; a souvenir bottle holds more soft drink than a paper cup. Some might still prefer the bottle plans, such as if they don't want drinks linked to a particular pass or if they share a cup between family members. Keeping them separate products seems to make sense; guests can choose which works best for them. -
Cedar Point (+ Other CF Parks) May Change All Season Drink Program
malem replied to Tr0y's topic in Kings Island
Winter Chill-Out attendees at Cedar Point are reporting that a drink plan without the cups was officially announced today. The cost is reportedly the same as the current all-season souvenir cup price ($26.99), though I'd expect increases as the season progresses. Note that there's no official word yet on KI's 2017 drink offers. I personally don't like soft drinks, but I'm half considering it for large cups of water, including from locations that don't stock complimentary (Kinzel) cups.
