  1. ~2 oz once you consider how much of the cup they fill with ice. Ice is just water, only colder. So it is still between 6 and 7 ounces. I was referring to the immediately drinkable liquid content. Most people probably don't want to wait for the ice to melt. Incidentally, I spotted an unopened bag of "Kinzel cups" on a counter this evening. The plastic bag was clearly marked "7 oz. cups". They don't look like 7 ounces to me. 4. Don tried to claim during the Q&A this evening that the Golden Tickets were voted on by people like us and had nothing to do with advertising money. No disrespect to Don, who probably has to say that to get the general public to believe the award, but I think that's a load of PR bull****. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
  5. Hopefully when I'm there. The last two years, the chainsaw was added the weekend after I went to Haunt. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
  6. Yes, and the same for Wolf Pack. According to Don, there were so many people doing the tours that if they had allowed pictures, the lines would have been too long and they wouldn't have been able to get everyone through in a reasonable amount of time. They had to ban pictures to keep people moving. Transmitted from Wild Space via my datapad's DROID brain
  7. Why? I wasn't around when that was used, so I don't know why they stopped using it.
  8. Yes. I'm not worried about being stuck up there for three hours on a nice day; I know I can handle it, and I don't sunburn easily. It's only the threat of lightning that keeps me off of it. Meteorologists can tell when conditions are right for storms to develop out of thin air (or at least that's how the layman sees it), and can guess with some level of certainty when and in what general area they are likely to pop up. Especially looking only three hours into the future, they can give pretty accurate forecasts.
  9. You could have that with Drop Tower, Power Tower and basically any steel ride. The difference being WindSeeker takes up to three hours to be fully evacuated. Coasters take, what, twenty minutes? Do you have a recent time frame of this? Has a WindSeeker been evacuated this year? I just think it's kind of silly to slam a ride for the possibility of being stuck on it when there may be a storm coming, even if there isn't a risk of storm. It has taken three hours to evacuate in the past, and until I see evidence of evacuations taking far less time or not happening at all over a long time, I will continue to not ride WindSeeker when thunderstorms are in the two- to three-hour forecast.
  10. ^ The Festhaus usually has sports on the TVs between live shows, and I think all shows are wrapped up for the season already. The Reds Grille might as well show football, since the Reds game on Sunday doesn't start until five minutes after the park closes. So I would say that that would be not only doable, but very likely as well.

  12. My big issue with the WindSeekers, whatever the name, is what would happen if the ride stalls fully loaded at the top of the tower five minutes before the park shuts everything down for thunderstorms approaching the area... and then this 301-foot-tall lightning rod is struck before it can be evacuated. It is for that reason that I will not ride any WindSeeker when thunderstorms are forecasted for within the next couple of hours.
  13. So let me see if I've got this straight, YoungStud: you claim to know what the general public will want to do and imply that nobody on here can possibly know otherwise because the simple fact that we are on a coaster forum makes us all enthusiasts? There's one major flaw in that line of thinking: YOU are ALSO on a coaster forum, therefore according to your own line of thinking you are also also an enthusiast and thus cannot know what the the general public is thinking. Give me a break.
  14. Yes, Giraffica was operating when I was there July 9 to 11. It was closed during HoliWood Nights.
  15. Maybe make an account nominally for him, but which you control? That's the best I can think of, since you only have a half hour left to RSVP.
  16. ^ German food is served in the Bier Garten. Why serve the same foods in two different places very close to each other? Serving German food in the Festhaus would make more sense if it was halfway across the park from the Bier Garten, but then it wouldn't be in the Oktoberfest section.
  17. What's going on with Giraffica? Is there something wrong with it specifically, or did they just close it as a reaction to the StR accident?
  18. I'd love to, but I will be at Stricker's Grove that day.
  19. Yeah, listen to your son. Seriously, though, don't think that saving on admission is the only way to get your money's worth out of the upgrade difference. The ability to get ERT at CP without staying on site is worth part of that difference. If you're the kind that prefers to stay on site at CP, Platinum Passes can get you a 10% discount off the standard rates at all CP resorts except Lighthouse Point and Camper Village. I'd say that two days at CP would be enough for me to feel that I've gotten my money's worth. Drive up in the morning, spend the afternoon and evening in park, crash somewhere for the night, get to the park in time for ERT the next morning, and stay until mid-afternoon before heading home.
  20. Yes, you'll pay the difference between what you actually paid for the gold pass and the then-current price of a platinum pass. So if you upgrade next year, your total cost will be equal to whatever the full price of platinum is next year. As others have said, it would be cheaper to buy platinum now while it's on sale if you think there is a strong chance that you will get to other Cedar Fair parks next year. 21. Diamondback and Delirium have test seats at the entrance that you can use to determine whether you can fit. On all other rides, you can walk up the exit and ask an operator to let you try a seat before waiting in line. (Most people don't know that you can do the latter.)
  22. When I was in hs I had to get up early to milk cows and worked on the farm while I was not in school. And another layer is added to the mystery that is YoungStud...
  23. Let me guess: you helped design it, Mr. Architect? Well, I`m technically not an architect yet. My official title is an intern architect. I have so far only taken one out of the seven licensure exams to get my Architect license. I passed the structures portion so far. Ah, OK. Good luck on the other six!
