Which parks use the system directly linked to your card and do not need "charged"? SeaWorld Entertainment parks, for one, can use it either way. You can load cash onto the wristbands and use them like a gift card, or you can link the wristband to your credit card and charge purchases to it to your heart's content.

Tips for Introducing someone to coasters

If you gave me $100 I might actually go through Madame Fatales... We just might hold you to that. -
...what? There is so much wrong with this suggestion that I haven't the slightest clue where to begin.

Having used HW's version of the system on every visit, I will definitely make use of this. It would relieve me of the big hassle of digging through my fanny pack or cargo pockets for cash, and it speeds up the line as well.

Tips for Introducing someone to coasters

Correct, I don't have kids. I think your last sentence neatly sums up what I was thinking, that "[persuading] someone to try a new experience when there is no reason to believe they are in danger is part of life". I'm of the belief that you can't know whether you like something or not until you try it, but sometimes somebody's not willing to try a coaster on their own and needs a little extra incentive to give it a spin. If they do give it a shot and decide they truly don't like it, I would take my cue from that and not try to push that one anymore, at least until the next season. But if they do discover that they like it, then they just might loosen up a bit and be willing to give other coasters a shot without needing any more bribes, and a new coaster enthusiast may be born that day. Either way, they've actually tried it and know whether or not they like it, which is something they didn't know before, and so they've learned a little bit about themselves. And that in my mind is a good thing regardless of the outcome. -
Splash River and Tidal Wave Bay. As for the dry side or other parks, I got nothing, unless riding the Cedar Point WindSeeker on the day that the Kings Island WindSeeker opened counts.

Since you can legally shoot on-ride photos and video from the Eiffel Tower, anybody here want to create a POV of the Eiffel Tower? -

Simply out of curiosity, what about the gray area between letting someone go at their own pace and forcing them? By that, I mean offering them a bribe to get them to ride something they won't ride on their own. The bribe would vary depending on the person involved; examples might be a stuffed Snoopy from the gift shop for a preschooler, a "coupon" to stay up past bedtime one night next week for a preteen, some cash for an older teenager or adult, or whatever else makes sense and is appealing to the reluctant rider. I think it would be fine as long as they are given free choice to accept or refuse, without the same rejected bribe being "pushed" on them continuously (though I don't think it would be a problem to up the bribe occasionally the next time you walk past the ride, or even let them negotiate). P.S. I'm just asking out of curiosity. I don't actually have anyone I'm planning to do this to. -
Where exactly in the picture are the cargo shorts? I can't seem to find them.

And I understand this point, but at the same time, look at the teaser trailer for Banshee. You have buried The Bat already, and I think that teaser honestly puts the name change to rest. Whatever happens will happen. If you happen to goto Cedar Point during Halloween you will see a grave for the old Shoot The Rapids. And perhaps the new one as well before too long. I can't see Cedar Fair tolerating the problems with that ride much longer, especially in light of the recent string of high-profile problems on other Intamin rides.
-
Do you know what kind of closure those have on the cargo pockets? I can't tell and won't consider buying them unless I know for sure.
-
I've been thinking about trying cargo shorts for a while, actually. I bought a pair at Walmart a couple years ago, but they were so thick that they took forever to dry after water rides. I rode a water ride mid-afternoon and the shorts were still wet the next day. Never wore those again, and never found a pair that wasn't so thick until today (actually yesterday now).
-
Mind you, this is only an experiment. There is no guarantee here, express or implied, that these will become my permanent park shorts. And even if they do, the fanny pack will be kept as it still has other uses.
-
OK, I gave in and bought a pair of cargo shorts at American Eagle Outfitters this afternoon for $20. Pic: We'll see how well they work and how comfortable they are next time I go to the park. That may be next week or not until the birthday bash, as I'm seriously considering going to the Beach instead next week to pick up a season pass while they're on sale, since I won't be doing much traveling next year. Imaginary bragging rights. Cedar Fair does not release attendance figures for individual parks, be they season-long or daily numbers.

I wouldn't ride anything, and neither would I leave the park (I don't want to be stuck in traffic). I would find shelter in the park instead. I don't mess with tornadoes. I know what they can do. I was at home when the 2000 tornado struck Xenia. That tornado, I believe an F4, passed less than a quarter mile from my house, close enough to damage the roof. Houses two blocks away directly in the path were reduced to piles of rubble. I've also seen pictures and heard stories of the 1974 tornado. My mother was at home watching her younger siblings that day. When the tornado approached, she took her siblings into the bathroom. Minutes later, the bathroom was the only room in the house left standing. Like I said, I know what tornadoes can do. I don't mess with them.

the climb the ladder....by Adventure Express? I would guess you need to keep your feet all the way to the outside to balance the weight? Specifically, place your hands and feet on the ropes, not the rungs, IIRC. This ensures that your contact points are exactly equal distances from the center. Also, move one hand and opposite foot simultaneously, and don't stop. I've known that for years. I still can't pull it off.

Can we please edit down the huge piles of nested quotes? It's a tad annoying to have to scroll through nearly two screens to read three words, plus it wastes data for those on mobile devices. Thanks.

Learning the trick to the ladder games is usually very easy; more often than not, the operator will be happy to tell players how to do it and even demonstrate for them. Actually pulling it off? That's the difficult part.

6 feet at 13 years old? There are a few rides in the park with maximum height limits. Enjoy them while you can.

Ours were moved to Carowinds, not Kings Dominion.

Efficiency. For safety reasons, a train cannot be rolled forward into the station until the other train has cleared the cobra roll, in case of a rollback. By the time one train has cleared the cobra roll, the other train has usually run the course and is sitting empty at unload, ready to roll into the station and be loaded. So running three trains would have no appreciable effect on capacity and would only succeed in stacking every time.
