  1. Once on a ride with a KIC group, I got a 2920. That was without the ride stopping. I have no idea how I managed a score that high, but I would never be able to duplicate it if I tried. I suspect there was a bug in the system that day that was resulting in extra points.
  2. Interesting. I've had the snake almost every time (which is about half a dozen times). I've only seen The Bat once, and never the tree.
  3. Ah, I get it now. Thanks for the explanations!
  4. So this is a bit off-topic, but I have a dumb question. What does this mean? Specifically, what does it mean when someone talks about an "E-ticket" or "D-ticket" ride? Are other letters in use for this kind of thing, and what do they mean as well?
  5. I love how everyone is automatically assuming that it's going to get the RMC treatment when in fact we have zero evidence to suggest it will other than SIX's past history with RMC. Anyway, I found it rough back in May, but not super-rough. It's just sad to see Six Flags continue their war against wooden coasters.
  6. So it's still smooth until the MCBR, but after that you hit a bumpy road? Got it.
  7. Having not ridden Voyage since 2014, I'm not currently qualified to offer my opinion on this, but keep in mind that there is a difference between a rough coaster and a violent coaster. Being violent is part of the design of a ride; being rough is not. Voyage has always been violent, but not always rough. It was certainly rough when I first visited in 2011, then in either 2012 or 2013, they did MAJOR track work that eliminated most of the roughness, without neutering the violence. It was still running like that when I was there in 2014, but it sounds as if it may have developed some new roughness since then. I just want to make sure that people aren't experiencing violence and mistaking it for roughness, because they are two different things, though not mutually exclusive.
  8. Because most people generally adore Banshee, whereas people have mixed feelings about Vortex. One is more likely to (over)reach for excuses to remove a ride when they don't like that ride. It's partly confirmation bias; a person looks at a short line for a ride they like and exclaims that it's a people-eater, then the same person looks at the same length line on a ride of the same capacity that they hate and complains that it's unpopular and needs to be removed.
  9. We have a user named "Roll Call:"?
  10. I think he meant "receipt". If I flip the "i" to before the "e", my autocorrect tries to change it to "recipe".
  11. Part of Beast's track is very close to the fireworks launch site. For safety reasons, The Beast has to suspend operations in time to unload all trains before the fireworks start, and then must wait on a track inspection after the fireworks to check for track damage from falling embers before resuming operation. The shutdown typically lasts about 25 to 30 minutes (9:45pm to about 5 minutes after the end of the fireworks), though if there is a concern requiring a closer look at the track, that can be delayed further. On nights with a 10pm close, anyone in line by that time will get to ride. For midnight closes, Beast will reopen following the shutdown and operate through closing time.
  12. If you want to spend an hour reading stupid comments on Facebook, go to the NASA page. Many of their posts get attacked by flat earthers. I'm not kidding. I sometimes use their posts as free entertainment.
  13. Embedded social media posts and embedded forum posts do not show up on Tapatalk, nor does Tapatalk give any indication that it has stripped this stuff out. For that kind of stuff, you'll have to use the website (which is mobile-friendly) in a browser.
  14. My ticket has been purchased, thanks to a bunch of Pokémon cards that I sold last night. Hopefully next week will fly by! (yeah, right... )
  15. Per a recent post on the Facebook event, the deadline is July 8, which is this Saturday.
  16. I'm very interested in this! I've actually never been to Coney Island before. Is there a deadline to purchase tickets, or can I wait and make a last-minute decision? I'd like to know how much time I have to make a decision.
  17. Yes, it's in case the train overshoots the station. The same happens at the Cedar Point Frontiertown station, with the crossing right in front of the station being closed as the train approaches, reopening once the clear signal is given, and then closing again at dispatch. That's not it, since the crossing is designed to block access to the tracks while open. Also, as with CP above, the crossing is reopened while the train is loading and unloading.
  18. If you plan to spend a significant amount of time in the waterpark, with rerides on the water coasters and/or hitting up all of the slides, then yes, two days is a must even with moderate crowds. The park might not be as big as KI, but there is certainly a lot to do, and the major stuff is generally very rerideable, which eats up more time.
  19. Then I would suggest picking just one park. While KK can be done in half a day if you're not keen on the waterpark, HW, despite its size, deserves a full day to truly appreciate it. I would not recommend doing a half day at Holiday World.
  20. Wow. I should have dragged myself out of bed early this morning and gone to KI today. I was considering it, but after doing the Columbus Zoo yesterday, I didn't think I could malem that hard.
  21. I would recommend an overnight trip. Spend all day at Holiday World, then stay in a hotel in that area (I like Santa's Lodge just down the street). Then in the morning, drive east (remember to account for the time zone change) and get to Kentucky Kingdom at opening. Stay there until you get bored, then head home.
  22. LOL! NAC is right. I don't care what the park says on that matter.
  23. Yikes! I hope the day improved after that?
  24. Yes, you can leave backpacks in the station on all three woodies. I don't know if that is true for Thunderbird, though. Also, just to be clear: Legend (if you want to), then lockers, THEN Voyage without the backpacks. Repeat: Legend, lockers, Voyage, in that order. Trust me on that. Your legs will thank you later, because you reeeeeeaaaaalllly don't want to backtrack from Voyage all the way to the waterpark lockers and then double back all the way through Thanksgiving. Comprende?
  25. I tried to vote "no", but apparently it forces me to answer the second question in order to submit my response to the first question. Since there is not a "no" option for the second question, I therefore cannot vote at all.
