I want to remind everyone of the little stunt Greg Scheid pulled at the Tropical Plunge announcement back in 2015, at 0:46 in this video: We certainly got the ride for 2017. Now we await the attraction for 2018, which is apparently not a ride.

Drop Tower can be addicting. It takes some guts to get on it the first time, but when you come back down, you're like "holy crap that was awesome!" and now you can't get enough of it. Enjoy!

To be fair, the park knew 100% full well what that hashtag would result in. Without the hashtag, us enthusiasts would not have hyped it up nearly that much. They could have just cut the POV animation and told us there was a surprise in the shed and left it at that, and we wouldn't have discussed it that much. But the moment they dropped that hashtag, it became a specific question that demanded an equally specific answer, and that led to the massive speculation and thus the excess of hype. So I think the park AND the enthusiasts share the blame more or less equally for overhyping the shed.

Can we not have this debate again and just leave this thread in the pre-Banshee era where it belongs?

^ Excuse me while I go beat my head against a wall repeatedly.

Yesterday, I had the pulled pork at the Smokehouse after I met up with @AustinR. One worker piled the pork onto the bun so high that we said "whoa!", and the other worker standing next to him turned to him and added, "Yeah. Whoa." That sandwich was MASSIVE and probably double the amount of meat they were supposed to give me. I honestly would have been perfectly satisfied with just half that much. As it was, I only finished half of the sandwich, and half of the heaping serving of corn pudding. Then later that evening, at Reds Grille, I had the chili. Very good chili, with a large serving for a very inexpensive price. Definitely a budget-friendly option.

Getting off The Beast, a little kid turned to his parent and exclaimed, "You said there was no drop!" Also, I'm in line for Flight of Fear, and there's an older woman about 15 people behind me whose shirt says "F*** It" on the back (without the censorship). I'm thinking "how in the world does she think that is appropriate for a family park?"

Spotted from The Beast queue ramp up to the station: Looks like we can say goodbye to Sorority House and Nightmare Alley.

I uninstalled the app a few days ago. For several days, my phone was getting warm and the battery was running down unusually fast, and I finally identified the KI app as the culprit. I force-stopped it and rebooted the phone, but it continued to cause the same problems, so I deleted it. Goodbye, I never really used you anyway.

Wouldn't a series of cameras be sufficient for that? Then you just need one person in a control booth monitoring the CCTVs. Based on Kenban's map above, the main pathway remains intact between the red and yellow areas.

Wow. Thanks for the hard numbers. That's far, far less than I thought.

^ Also, gas can be expensive these days, especially when you're running a dozen or two engines all day long. EDIT: Maybe not. See @Kenban's post below.

See: Hulk at IoA. Then again, Universal has a drastically different budget than Cedar Fair does.

The same error is back.

Welcome back! The subject of Vortex and its possible removal is a controversial topic around here. Some love it and some hate it. If you go over to the Polls section, there is a five-page thread debating Vortex with a wide range of opinions. Here's a direct link: https://KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/32691-the-Vortex-poll/ Check it out and add your thoughts to it!

For anyone still seeing the error page, bypassing your browser cache (Ctrl+F5 in Firefox or Chrome) will fix it.

I'm getting it too. I sent a message through the "contact us" link on the error page with a screenshot of the error.

Hopefully they have found a better use for it than just a giant smoking area.

I prefer GrandSon of Beast.

I have a bug to report. This is the second time it's done this to me, and I can't pinpoint any way to reproduce it, unfortunately. Occasionally, a new post in a thread won't show up as new, or indeed show up at all, in the thread list. It shows up in the forum list, both in the "last post" column and by marking the forum unread. It shows up in the thread itself, including the bar across the screen that normally separates old posts from unread posts. But on the thread list, there is no sign of the post, with the thread marked read and showing the last post as the post previous to the bugged post. After reading the post, everything is correctly marked as read, but the thread list continues to not show the post in the last post column. This time around, it was Kenban's 11:59am post in the Giga Speculation Thread under Rumors (which I've now read) that was showing this problem.

Gold pass benefits for other CF parks?
jcgoble3 replied to TheRickster's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Where are you seeing that parking is not included in Knott's Platinum Passes? When I go into their online store to season pass add-ons, it lists all season dining three times, once each for Regular, Gold, and Platinum, but lists all season parking only twice, for Regular and Gold only. All season parking is not offered for a Platinum Pass, which would tend to make me think it IS included with Platinum Passes (though, unlike KI, apparently not with Gold Passes). EDIT: Upon actually looking at the Platinum Pass listing in the store (which I should have done first ), it clearly says, "Pass includes general parking during the 2017 season." So it is included. -

Doesn't the DMV always suck? -
Interesting, thanks for the information! I guess it probably was a slow run, though it certainly didn't seem as such. Others in the group, including some in adjacent cars, did not get scores above the typical range, so it does seem odd.

I do not recall any change to the usual ride speed, or being able to hit the same target more than twice (once entering the scene and once exiting the scene, which is frequently possible at normal speed). Also, I didn't think they had a "slow" option, just a "stop" for that purpose.
