  1. I'm looking at the source code of the home page of the site. For one, they have a syntax error on line 5. For another, why in the world are they blocking search engine crawlers? Line 12 has a noindex directive, and their robots.txt is literally blocking everything. And a Google search for the park's name returns a link to the site with the text "A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots.txt". My head hurts.
  2. 117,000 season passes. 600,000 total attendance. Something doesn't add up here.
  3. Cool. Do you know by any chance whether this new version will fix the issue with the plain text editor not wrapping long lines properly that was discussed on the previous page? And I don't think this gets said often enough around here: Thank you for all you do to keep this site running, Dane. I really don't know what we'd do without you.
  4. 3 to 5 months? How about 3 to 5 days? There's a half-day this Friday and a full day Sunday with cool temperatures in the forecast, and Saturday has even colder temperatures (high in the low 50s) with a chance of showers. I'm betting that the park is going to be dead all three of those days.
  5. I can't even recall the last time you got excited enough to use exclamation points and/or underlining.
  6. I made a purchase at Sweet Spot early on Friday evening. The lady who rang me up had to have a supervisor walk her through every step. When I commented that it was good to have a "dry run" day like that with season pass holders, she said that they had an actual dry run earlier in the week, but the Sweet Spot wasn't open for that, so she had been on the register in the Emporium. Which apparently has a totally different interface from the one at Sweet Spot, since she couldn't find the button for a single buckeye, and then couldn't find the button for the Gold Pass discount. So it indeed seems like that was her first experience with that register interface.
  7. Did I look anything like this? (source)
  8. I posted a lot of pictures in the Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread Friday evening. Ugh. Well, that knocks one food stand off my list. I can't stand pulled chicken.
  9. And on the subject of pairing people up on the Gliders, those tubs are NOT designed for two adults (or adult-sized teens). I found that out when I rode with thoe124 Friday night. Neither of us are very large in the waist area, yet we were barely able to squeeze into one tub, and by the time we got the seat belt buckled there was only about four inches to spare. In addition, thoe124, who is quite tall, had to angle his legs over to my side of the car in order to get his knees out of the way of the control wing. So it's not really practical for two adults to pair up.
  10. I haven't seen those yet, but I've had several apparently Flash-based ads that completely crashed Firefox.
  11. (This is for Android; the process should be similar on an iPhone.) First, go into the main settings screen (from the "home" screen of the app, not from within KIC) and turn on notifications and select the ringtone you want. Then open KIC, hit the menu button, and choose settings, then notifications, and select what you want to be notified of. The default choices are a little aggressive, so you'll probably want to turn some off. I have mine set for notifications for subscribed topics and PMs, and nothing else.
  12. Tapatalk and push notifications. Oftentimes, I have no idea how I'd keep track of things at a meetup without them.
  13. This is why I always go to the one on International Street. The Coney Mall stand has always been slow for me. I rode in 3-2 yesterday, and it seemed slightly rougher than last year. However, that could be my memory playing tricks on me.
  14. Kings Island opening day is trending on Facebook.
  15. I stood in the Fast Lane line (with a front-of-the-line pass won from the spin-the-wheel game; yes, I'm still addicted that darn thing) for the better part of two cycles, and the Fast Lane line is literally right next to the control panel, so I got a good look at it. Unless there is a speed setting on the digital display, there isn't one at all. There certainly isn't a knob or button for speed control. I tried to take a picture of the control panel, but by the time I got up there, it was fully dark, and I couldn't get a decent shot.
  16. Yes, I noticed this also. Early in the evening, I wanted a quick snack, but not something that would spoil a full meal later in the night, so I bought a single buckeye from Sweet Spot. The lady who sold it to me had to call over her supervisor to walk her through ringing it up, and then had to call him over again when the scanner couldn't scan my card for the 10% discount. The supervisor got it to scan, but it didn't scan correctly, so he ended up typing in the pass number manually. The whole sale transaction ended up taking about three or four minutes. But she was very friendly about it and apologized several times, and I told her not to worry about it because there's always going to be slowdowns and problems on the first day. I think I may have been her first customer.
  17. Yes, the Banshee first rider shirts were being given out during "ERT". Of course, there really wasn't an ERT session on Banshee that day, just a chance for all the Gold and Platinum Passholders to immediately form a three-hour line before the regular folks were allowed in.
  18. Eh... maybe. I didn't get any good snaps, but then again, I've never achieved a snap on any scooters anywhere, so maybe I just don't know the right technique. However, they feel identical to the ones at Cedar Point. Yes and yes.
  19. Rivertown's Coca-Cola Freestyle station:
  20. I managed to ride The Beast without breaking it. Currently sitting at the Reds Grille waiting on my dining plan meal.
  21. https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR/status/589142821908705280 OK, that's tempting. But my wallet still says no.
  22. Shake, Rattle, and Roll is down with what I think they said is an electrical problem. Second ride to break down with me on it today. Second ride I've ridden today. I think I'm bad luck. [emoji14] For future reference, there are car numbers on the backs of the cars. The ring with car numbers 1 through 7 is the ring that starts spinning first.
  23. homestar92 is reporting that the Woodstock Gliders line is so long that they are utilizing temporary queues.
