  1. That's what I thought too... until I launched a podcast magazine promoting good things in my home town. Believe it or not, Facebook is an incredible business tool and social media is the future of marketing. To be fair, many of your comments could easily be applied to people posting in a forum about amusement parks. Point well taken. What comments could we apply to people who moderate forums about amusement parks?
  2. This is one of the best Terp proofed questions I've ever seen posted! Well done young Wordsmith.
  3. I fully believe "KingsIslandPR" is the official public relations representative for KI. I'm also very appreciative of the time taken to keep us KI addicts updated about things going on at the park. I'm curious if there has there been confirmation that this is actually the big man Don Helbig posting? Or is it someone who works for Don in public relations.
  4. Dude you are disagreeing with the KI official spokesperson about what KI plans to do with an area of KI. Do you also disagree with what flavor Graeters ice cream offers each month?
  5. If it's the same movie they up charged for last year, I would've felt really cheated to have paid to see that. It's free now and other than getting out of the heat for 15 minutes, barely worth the walk back there. I'm real bummed that we didn't enjoy the motion seats and Spongebob more often. We never got to experience Days of Thunder. Maybe KI isn't under contract to show it thru 2018 and has something new and exciting planned for the venue. I hope.
  6. Snow-woman and I were melting at the park Saturday around noon so we decided to give the Dinosaur 3D movie a shot. As we walked back to Action Theater We saw Vortex line all the way out of the que. A lot of people were heading to WS but turned around after seeing it was closed. We headed back and we were suddenly all alone. It was amazing to go from a packed park to a completely deserted area. The girl working there let us pick from a small tray of glasses(a far cry from the barrels needed for the Sponge) and we were the only ones sitting on the very uncomfortable benches watching the 10 minute commercial that had maybe 4 minutes of actual dino 3D action. After we left there was no one waiting to get in to the next show. We went by DA entrance and no one was selling or buying tickets, and no one was walking toward the exhibit. I am not trying to hate, second guess, or flame KI about anything. I'm just curious if other people here have noticed the same lack of attendance to action theater, and the exhibit. I hope it was just a temporary lull. Please share any observations you've had.
  7. Yeah, kinda chauvinistic there standbyme, Guys have to wear non-suggestive shirts, but girls run around naked. If your doing away with fastlane, why not do away with lines completely?
  8. For the record, anyone who wants to give me the finger and $10 to get in front of me in line...I'll be the one at the top of DB's stairs this Saturday and Sunday with a wad of cash and a big smile on my face.
  9. You ought to run for President! Can't...I'd only be willing to release 25% of my tax returns.
  10. Consider this next time you're waiting 25% longer in line: Those people buying Fast Lane passes are getting you 25% closer to waiting 25% longer in a line to ride a brand new, double super happenig flat ride or coaster.
  11. Bittersweet definition: both pleasant and painful or regretful... You observed the results someone else doing something at some time to someone elses stuff? I'm so confused.
  12. Anyone notice that 2 episodes aired and 2 independent parks' coasters have won? I'm guessing Cedar Fair and Six Flags coasters in the upcoming episodes are in trouble. Is this rigged to get more people to the independent parks? I guess we'll see.
  13. So you'd rather observe Son of Beast than log into facebook? You spoke the name of what is not to be spoken!! AAAAHHHHHHH... ....and yes.
  14. Facebook is a self serving, ego fueling, privacy invading, waste of brain cells that could be put to better uses like watching grass grow or wood rot. I'm proud to say I've never posted or looked at anything on Facebook. Sounds like the level of discussion on the KI Facebook page lives up to my expectations.
  15. Sadly, I remember identical posts like this last year.
  16. My fav, "This better not take too long!" off topic, I like your new avatar picture.
  17. I am making zero judgement about this, but this is some interesting KI marketing that I wanted some thoughts on: Saturday morning, during the ERT Downpour, Snow woman and I were taking cover outside DB's souvenir shop (cause rain melts Snow ). We were standing near the smoking area, I looked in the 2 crane/reflex games and was quite surprised what the prizes were. The only prizes in both games are Zippo lighters. I know it's a captive audience, and they're marketing to the crowd at hand, but they look a lot like the other games scattered around the park that are geared to kids. I didn't really see anything stopping a little kid from going up and winning a shiny new zippo. I'm a former 20 year smoker that hated being preached to, and VERY far from being any type of morality police, but this just seems a little odd. Please share your thoughts, thanks.
  18. The Zippin Pippin at Libertyland in Memphis. This is the same coaster Elvis Presley used to play the craziest and most dangerous practical joke I've ever heard of. Back in the 70's, the only thing holding you in was a manual seat belt(like on Beast), Elvis would regularly rent Libertyland out for him and his friends overnight. He'd ride in the front seat and after the train left the station, the ride op on E's request would briefly stop the train on the lift hill and Elvis would hop out and stand on the lift hill out of sight of his guests still waiting in the station. The train would run it's circuit and when it returned to the station everyone on it would be screaming wildly that Elvis flew out! Shortly after the complete freakout of the station guests, Elvis would walk back down the lift hill to the station, cracking up with the guests on the train. ****PLEASE DON'T TRY THIS******* I think Elvis might have been a few sandwiches short of a picnic.
  19. ^Wow! It's amazing that someone would go to the trouble to change half the sign to Soak City while leaving BB at the top. Great Catch. I'm curious if it changes by next weekend.
  20. I get the feeling railroader19 is desperately trying to get to 100 posts. If this is true PLEASE just go to an old post and type, 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, 99, 100, in separate posts. Because once you hit 100, people here will take every topic you post more seriously. (plus you get to sit at the cool lunch table)
  21. So you have one token, no picture, and you start a topic about it. Standbyme has a $hikpot of tokens AND a picture of them. I'm going to starting a topic called, "Standbyme Wins!!"
  22. Generally, when starting a topic, you want to pose a question that others can reply to and further a dialog. I don't know how to reply to your topic other than, "ok".
  23. Dude, how many topics are you going to post this in? I noticed you also STARTED one. Geez....Call The Park!
  24. He keeps a clicker counter in his pocket like the ops who count Fast Lane people, and clicks it every time he gets on. Congrats fellow warrior!
  25. Well put. I'm Out of likes. If you buy a Big Mac you deserve to enjoy it don't you? This Interpreter is a genius!
