Not that i'm trying to defend anyone. But you will always have a few bad apples in every bunch. But I have to agree with what everyone is saying. When I was at PKD back in '98 they actually were giving out deflated basketballs, so I wish PKI would do this too. Too many times have I seen while being a PKI ride op, a basketball rolling down the station, and almost landing in the track.

Yeah I remember back in the early years of operation of Vortex, you used to barly be slowed in the block break. You used to fly thru the corkscrews.

That can't be your favorite seat, that's my favorite seat as well. Seat 7-1 (Last car first row) Has always been my favorite, just love being pulled over the top of the lift, and down the drop.

I do believe that Paramount Parks only manages this park, and has no other control of the park, other then from a managment kind of way. -
I'm not saying the parks are unsafe. I'm just saying what happened in the past. We have not heard of anything happening at Six Flags park is quite some time and i'm very glad to hear this. I am planning on taking a trip to Six Flags Great America, and i'm still going to ride The Demon. I don't think the parks are unsafe.

Very true about the maintence. Look what happened quite a few years ago, after Six Flags laid off a bunch of maintence people. They were alot of ride accidents and even some deaths. I remember in '98 when "The Demon" at SFGA got stuck in one of the loops. Boy that would had to be scary.

Are you telling me that Six Flags are so cheep, they couldn't even tear up the ground where the old parking lots were when they decided to bulid a coaster on it. That looks horrible. It would look so much better if they ripped up the parking lot, and at least put some grass in.

As far as themes for the next big ride. Hmmm that's a good one. Just because Paramount Parks is already considering this I would say Adams Family.

I believe that HB land will be redone next year and a new bigger Nick Central. So I think a Nickeloden theme will be used next.

Vortex has never seemed rough to me ever. But call me crazy I do find it a little bumpy though in the rear seats of each car. I don't like those seats anyway cause i'm a taller guy at a little over 6 feet tall. And my knees aways hit the back of the seat in front of me. *side note* Notice that person with the weird screen name has only two posts.

I lost my cell phone on one our employee ride nights back when I used to work there. I belive I lost it on Face/Off. Lesson learned don't ever wear kaki shorts on rides unless you have cargo kakis where you have a button to close your pocket. Pockets in kakis are a little more losser then jean shorts.

First of all why are they starting to close the park down just because of the thunder storms? Last Friday was the first time I ever heard of them doing that. I can understand because of the weather we had last weekend, but because of a storm. A thunderstorm could only last a few minutes, but could last a lot longer. I remember on a season pass night years ago when they used to be from 5pm till 11pm anyone remember that? They were some bad storms move in about 8pm and lasted for like an hour and half. And all the rides re-opened like 9:45pm. So is this a new thing that Paramount Parks is doing, closing the park completly because of storms? I know Bush Gardens used to to this. Back in '87 we took a trip to Florida and went to BGT and they shut the park down because of a storm, and about the time everyone was leaving, the sun came out.

I would love to see a B&M in PKI. And I can't see why they won't ever get one. I'm sure they will one day. I don't want to start any rumors, but Vortex will not last forever, so who knows what will replace that.

Back when I was still in school, my Mother and I always had a tradition of going to PKI on the Friday before Memorial day. The park was always either open to the public, and for a couple years PKI had a season pass private party on that night. One of my other traditions I use to have, I use to go to Vortex for the last hour of the night, and ride it over and over again, until the fireworks went off.

The first time I went to PKI was in '87, the year Vortex opened. I was only 7 years old, and Vortex was the first big rollercoaster I ever rode. I've been going to the park ever sense and have had a season pass sense '88. I also do feel the park changed a little when Paramount took over in 1993. But some good things came out of this too though. I also even had the chance to be employed by KI from the '99 thru 01' Seasons. But I still KI is still one of the best theme parks in the mid-west.

Whats going on with the home page, not displaying the latest topics?

Okay mistakes happen, So sorry. But just because I made a misake doesn't mean you have to call me a name. I didn't call you a name. So I don't feel name calling on this site should be allowed. Sorry I made a mistake. And I wasn't ripping on you. I just figured that the pic was on PCW's site that it was from PCW.

I don't blame them from closing the park at all. The weather was really bad this past weekend. Cold and snowy. In my opinion no one should have even wanted to go to the park this past weekend, unless you lived close. Hopefully this coming weekend will be better. Looks like though temps will be in the 60's with some rain.

because it is PCW and not PKI.
-
Anyone have any idea why PCW's version is going to open before PKI's. Doesn't make alot of sense if you ask me. I thought PKI finished buliding their's before PCW's. And ours isn't even open yet!!

The ads on the websites are pretty cool. I wonder if they will be updated as new ads are put on TV?

That's interesting. In my opinion, I think Viacom would be crazy to sell off the parks now. After all of these years investing money into the park, and with all the movie themed rides and attractions. I know it's possible they could sell them, but whoever did buy, would have to invest alot of money unbranding the Paramount Parks. (Removing Paramount from the entire park). I would think that would cost some money.

That's cool. I would like to see this for myself in my No Limits game. Nice job.

I'm not going to vote for any of the choices listed. But I think the worst restaurant in PKI would have to be skyline footlong express. Why do we need this? They could sell footlong skyline hotdogs at the other skyline stand in the park.
