Has anyone redeemed and printed (I assume none have been used yet) a reward for $x off a 2013 pass? I have one at $10 for a level 2 reward, and another at $20 for a level 3, and assume there will be another option at level 4 if/when I get there. My question is, can I print off both the $20 and the $10 reward and use both? I'll have to purchass multiple passes, so I suspect I can use one on one pass, and the other on another, or perhaps I'd have to do them in seperate orders, but they reward voucher might limit your options.

Yeah, I rung that one up for my 4 year old as he loves trains. I think we're going on friday evening and might use it, so we'll see what exactly is all entailed, but when I first hear about it, I thought it was for some sort of behind the scences, go back to the storage/repair shed kind of thing. At least that was what I was hoping. At any rate, it will make his day, so its worth it at any rate, but next season I'd likely choose another reward if its just a meet the conducter, get a photo by the train kind of thing.

That ride looks like incredible fun.

Forgot to mention this, last week (Tuesday I think) they had metal detectors or bag scans or something installed at the front gate. Can't remember exactly, but we had to roll our stoller off to the side, the worker saw the infant sleeping in the stroller and told us to come on thru. I'm not sure how much they looked into other people's bags/purses, he didn't check our diaper bag tucked in the stroller. I have no idea if that is for the rest of the season as a reaction to the Dark Knight incident, if it was just that day for some specific reason (threat of some kind) or what.

No rust preventative coating? Really? On many things, that's considered paint. I've never paid close enough attention to know if the exterior of that building is painted or its just siding; either way if there was nothing on it to prevent it from rusting, the building would be completely brown by now.

I'm guessing more than 1 visitor has walked thru the main gates and instantly thought of Paris, so I guess they figured it out. Or, perhaps they could have IM Pei design a brand new opening into the park, but then people may start questioning if they're in Cleveland or France.

I think some of you are giving the girl who took my order and the order of my mother in law 2 spots up way too much credit/offerring her way to many excuses. Could she have had a bad day? Sure. Could there be something going on in her life that leaves her distracted? Sure. I never once got upset or raised my voice or anything, whe was working to make sure things were right, which I appreciated, but I'm guessing the manager of that location would have been less than satisfied with her order taking capability. If I have to explain a basic order 4-5 times, think how long that slows the line down, cuts into profits at that store b/c people see a line longer than it should be and get something else. The food was good, that was about all i cared about. I ate at the same skyline in the park last year and the buns were so stale that I haven't been back since. In fact, if not for the instant reward, I wouldn't have gone back again the other day. The quality of the coney compared to the coney I get at any other skyline was similar enough that I might stop by there again this season. However, if I saw the same girl taking orders again (not sure I could even pick her out of a lineup, so I'm not sure I'd even know) I probably continue on my way to something else. At the end of the day, customer satisfaction is goal #1. Waiting 12 minutes w/o explanation (perhaps there was a good excuse) or having to repeat your order 4-5 times takes away from ones customer satisfaction, which reduces the odds that said customer becomes a repeat customer, which limits the amount of revenue generated in that location. And to get off the skyline example, and move to another location w/ a constantly sub-par product this season, the diet Coke in the festhaus has been very watered down several times (if not every time) At one point I was convinced the carbination was out, waited for them to change it out and my diet Coke was still flat. If we eat in the park, we typical stop by the festhaus and get pizza and a couple of pops. The Diet Coke has been so consitantly bad that we went to the LaRossas by Diamonback instead last time we went that route for dinner in the park. The diet Coke at that location was what you'd expect. At the end of the day, it may not matter to the park, but the festhaus lost a family of customers this season to another spot in the park b/c they're pop isn't up to snuff. Interstingly, across the festhaus at panda express, they're pop has been good all year. I'm sure we'll go back to the festhaus again next season, but if their pop is sub-par, it may be the only time we dine there. Certainly we'll spend the equivalent elsewhere in the park, but if a manager's pay is based upon sales (I have no idea if that is the case) the person who manages the larossa's side of the festhaus will be seeing less sales. I'm not one to regularly voice my opinion if my service is poor or food is a lower quality than it should be. I'll return food if its unedible, but I'm pretty easy to please so a mix up doesn't bother me too often. However, I am one to vote with my pocket book. If a place is consistantly below my expected standards, there are other places I'll spend my money at.

It sure does, but if they want to call it international street they shouldn't use one cultures architecture. They left out both Italian and French architecture... And don't say the tower counts. Its not the same What exactly is Italian and French Architecture? Is that the style of buildings they use in the colder climate alps, the style they use along the medeterrian, they style they use by the english channel, the style they use in the much hotter southern Italian climate, the style they use in Venice? Are they to be modeled after the Old Paris, or new Paris (which is actually older than America, let alone Kings Island, itself)? There is no singular italian or french architectural style. There are/were many styles favorable in different time periods and different locations based upon the climates in each. I've been in houses in Switzerland, germany, Austria and scottland that you can pick up and plop in Mason and nobody would give it a second thought. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for an architectural renovation along International Street. The return on investment would be extremely small, and most changes would go unnoticed by the average customer. Keep it clean, keep it servicable and everything else is gravy.

There is one in a gift shop on International street, somewhere close to the FestHaus. Can't remember where exactly, but we used it earlier this year.

Bat may or may not have over-reacted, but we decided to use a (4) cheese coney for $0.99 a piece instant reward we got the other night. My mother in law went up with my neice ahead of us while we were gathering our son together proceeding over that area. I'm not sure of her exact experience as I was 2 spots behind here, but I believe it to be fairly similar to mine based upon our conversation when we sat in the patio area. The food was put together fairly quickly once the order was taken, however the girl taking the order was about as slow as possible. Me, handing over the coupon I'd like (4) cheese coneys, no onion, plus a plain hot dog, a 20 oz Diet Coke (showing her the wrist band) and a water. Her: you can only use this on cheese coneys. Me: "I understand that, I'd like (4) cheese coneys, no onion" plus the plain hot dog. Her: "so you don't want chili on your coney" Me: "no its a coney, I want everything except the onions", plus the plain hot dog. She typed something in then proceeded: "you don't want chili on the plain hot dog?" Me: No, I just want the (reading from the board) "plain hot dog on a bun (or whatever the exact, similarly worded description is on the board)" her: "OK.....wait, what didn't you want on the cheese coney's? Me: "no onions, please" she sends back the order Her: "Did you want anything else besides the coney's?" Me: "Yes the plain hot dog on a bun, plus the diet Coke and a water" She finishes the order and takes my cash. Then proceeds to ask me again what I'd like to drink another 2 or 3 times. I never did get the water. On the plus side, the food came out quicker than the drinks at this point, the buns were super fresh (unlike when I ate there last year) and was enjoyable. I think my mother in law had to tell her that she wanted chili on her coney as well. After experiencing this, I wouldn't be surprised if bat had to wait the 10 minutes that he said if this girl was on the grill that day.

I guess this is a case where not one size fits all. Personally, our recently turned 4 year old is pretty tall for his age. Some nights, I suppose when he's going thru growth spurts he can eat like a horse, other nights, like when we were at Kings Island on Tuesday, he didn't finish his plain hot dog on a bun from skyline. He'll likely be 48" tall and on The Beast, Racer, etc.. next spring/early next summer prior to his 5th birthday, but he'll hardly eat the equivalent of an adult at the backyard BBQ. However, with that said, the pricing structure makes sense and remains consitant. I've never partaken in the back yard BBQ, but it seems like a relatively good deal, even at $10.99 compared to most other places in the park. Fried chicken, potato salad, ice cream and a drink for $11.00, good luck matching that at larosa's or hanks. The park's website does call it the Junior/Senior plan which would leave me to assume it would be the same qualifications as the junior/senior ticket which is what we were just told. When you start assuming things you get into trouble.

Few people that attend Kings Island regularly attend other Cedar Fair parks. Those that do regularly attend other Cedar Fair parks probably aren't attending multiple Cedar Fair parks for their Planet Snoopy. Those that are regularly attending multiple Cedar Fair parks with a main eye on Planet Snoopy (ie young kids) likely still believe in the Easter bunny and aren't that worried that Planet Snoopy in mason is similarly themed to the Planet Snoopy along lake erie. But if you don't like it, what is the alternative? The mouse is obviously out. Nick is obviously out. Don't know who owns the rights to H-B, but that would be completely lost on any kids today. Snoopy is classic and timeless, and its used for multiple advertising campaigns around the country. My 4 year old son sees a met life commercial, he might as well be seeing a Kings Island commercial as he always attaches the snoopy on the blimp with his memories and experiences of seeing snoopy in Kings Island. Planet Snoopy works very well in that regard, not that I think it matters all that much in the end. I have the same experience on Woodstock express as I did when it was called The Beastie as kids did during the turn of the century when it had a nick themed name. Surf Dog v Avatar, same ride. Flying Ace Ariel Chase vs whatever Nick name it had, same ride, etc, etc, etc....

Flight Deck, Top Gun, doesn't matter to me, I still call the Scooby Doo Beastie as oppossed to Woodstock express or whatever the name was inb/w. W/o knowing the exact property line, I took to google map and notice a security fence lining the south side of columbia road and what appears to be a gate cutting across the last entrance to the back of Great Wolf Lodge and the rest of Columbia that takes you into the park (behind timberwolf) The green houses are back in this area, which I assume they still own, the old ride (sign, trams, etc...) graveyard is back there, which I also assume they own. There is also what appears to be the layout for part of KI campground. So If I use that, I assume they own the land b/w Top Gun Flight Deck and columbia road just south of Great Wolf Lodge.

I sincerly doubt the higher ups have no idea what is going to be built there. You don't make the decision to take down a large structure like SOB w/o knowing where you're heading down the road. They may want to re-use existing footers (if possible), reuse the station, reuse prior site work from SOB. They're plans may well extend 5-10+ years into the future, but make no mistake, they have a "plan" for that area. Like every other plan, I'm sure its subject to change as time marches on, but I doubt they said, "we'll lets just tear it down so we can stop taking questions on the rides future, then we'll figure out what we want to do next."

More proof to my theory about the save SoB crowd - so many who loved it and/or wanted to save it only rode it once or twice (if at all). I think many were in love with the concept, the records, and built a better memory of SoB as time wore on than the reality of the ride deserved. Again, this comes from one who enjoyed SoB (more with the loop), rode it when in was open, initially wanted it to reopen, but long ago realized that the current path is best for KI. I think you can say that w/ just about anyone in regards to past pleasures. As time marches forward most people tend to forget the (heart)aches associated w/ their memories and fall back on the good times. The same could be said of past loves (that don't end totally badly, then you tend to just remember the bad times and wipe out any of the good times and why you initially fell in love), past cars, old friends, or even old roller coasters. The idea of SOB and the fact that it still jumps into your vision each time you visit the park with so much promise trumps the forgotten memories of the pains it caused that have long worn off.

Is there any reason its still not open? It would be a nice place to walk up to and get some lower level pictures. It can't be that hard to seal off any areas where people could climb out of in a moment of stupidity. Question about a rumor I heard more than once as a kid. People would say "don't wear red on such and such a day at KI because its gay day and that is the designated shirt color to wear to let others know if your gay" It always seemed an odd rumor to me, but since there are several people that were there that day, perhaps there was truth to those rumors.

Folks, Adventure Express is now a wooden roller coaster! I'm guessing if you asked the average person attending King's Island if Adventure Express was a wooden coaster or a steel coaster, you'd get 90% or higher tell you that its a wooden coaster. Few attendees actually care what any ride is classified as, only if they find it fun to ride upon.

How 'bout, in honor of Son of Beast, the world's only (read "not first") looping water slide. Unless of course there is an existing looping water slide still in existance (I know of only 1 ever, but others here know far more on that than I)

Perhaps I didn't state if properly, but I'm not thinknig about a "kiddie land" like Planet Snoopy per say, but an area with a group of attractions good for the 42" - 48" and above crowd. I would think a flying eagle type ride would work great in that area as its a ride the whole family could ride. But any rate, tggrr makes a great observation. I have little doubt that Luminosity is heading KI's way. Revamp/upgrade timberwolf for the luminosity stage, then any new rollercoaster running behind it could implement lights to interact with the luminosity experience. Makes a whole lot of sense from multiple angles.

the problem w/ Shaggy's layout (which I think would make great use of the land) is that the ride would potentially (likely?) have to be shut down anytime timberwolf is in use. Now, as far as I know, that is only 1 time a year (the jesus rock festival). I know the Jesus Rock Festival (sorry, can't think of the exact name) is popular w/ those that attend, and IIRC, I've read that it draws pretty strong crowds, but still, one area that big for 1 weekend a year? Seems like a waste of space/resources unless that festival is bringin in a bunch of revenue compared to the cost of upkeep in the area. So w/ apologies to those that love that weekend, my proposal would be to take the layout that shaggy presents while taking out timberwolf at the same time. In the meantime, I'd turn the timberwolf area into an island like experience, w/ a moat/pond sorrounding the area. I'd combine the water features into ride overs for the new coaster, then I'd take the Island and add another "young riders area" I'd turn Planet Snoopy into an area ideally serving kids 40" and under, while turning this new area into an experience for kids 42" - 48" and their parents. I'm thinking the return of the flying eagles, a junior coaster type ride (kind of like how Flying Ace Ariel Chase is 44" requirement), etc... then w/ my mind on the future, I'd take the walkway behind delerium, along w/ the removal of the go karts to creat a path back to a new area of King's Island that could utilze the land around and behind SOB.

The Smurf ride (though I appreciate the interaction "shoot 'em up" style of Boo Blasters, just wish the guns worked better and the effects were better) The potato sack slide The Backwards Racer The monorail, safari ride (not sure what it was called), though my memory of that is so faded it may not have been as good as I remember it.
