Not sure if this would be considered in the Potato Works category:

If I remember correctly, the Knott's Rides Closed list said WindSeeker would be closed through October 20th too. It might just be that they are leaving it in the list of closed rides, and that February will show the next rounds of down rides. Edit to add: http://web-beta.archive.org/web/20121011230108/http://www.knotts.com/things-to-do/thrill-rides

Page 31 of the KKRC_ResponseOct2012w.pdf from earlier in the thread: "THE IMPORTANCE OF MARQUEE RIDES It takes big rides that make a big statement to give people in the secondary markets a reason to drive to Louisville. This was proven in 1997, when the former Kentucky Kingdom (before its sale to Six Flags) unveiled Chang, the tallest stand-up steel roller coaster in the world at the time and built by one of the top roller coaster manufacturers in the world, Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland. (This is the same manufacturer that will supply the new coaster planned for installation at Kentucky Kingdom in 2015.)"

For anyone who is wanting to sign up, the subject of the e-mail is "Register to win a winter tour" - check your spam folder if you don't see it. Remember to enter with the same e-mail address you use for the newsletter. I am signed up for the newsletter, and I can't find any email about the winter tour. I checked the spam folder too. The last newsletter I have is from eight days ago; I don't think I have been getting every issue.

I just sent mine. After thinking things over, I have The Racer above The Beast this year, probably because I somehow didn't ride it at night all year. 1-Zippin Pippin 2-Phoenix 3-Legend 4-Georgia Cyclone 5-High Roller 6-Thunderhead/El Toro 8-American Thunder 9-Prowler 10-Raven/Voyage -
(Edit) RingMaster was quicker with the dentist reference, so I'll instead say that sounds like a cool tool.

These are supposed to be photos that you took, not ones you found posted online. That photo is from http://www.negative-g.com/KingsIsland/KingsIsland2010/Kings-Island-2010-9.htm. It is also copyright infringement if you don't have the permission from the photographer. (Even if he didn't display the Copyright 1999 - 2013 Paul B. Drabek at the bottom of his page.) Also, from http://www.negative-g.com/PhotoUsage.htm : Web Site Usage 3. Cite the photos to "Paul Drabek/Negative-G.com" as well as link them to Negative-G.com.

It isn't that far of a stretch from saying the "PTCs are what makes the ride so great" to me reading that as you would like for them to stay on the ride. It seemed quite illogical that you would want to replace the thing that makes the ride so great, so I asked what I did. I really don't see why it offended you so much.

Oh, thanks. I don't think I've ever seen it open, maybe it is for the best.

That bugs me to. If the gate is closed it just looks smoother. However without the animatronics, it is sort of a boring ride view. Not much to look at. I'm confused...what is the gate?

20:50 would translate to 8:50 pm, not 4:50 pm. The "-04:00" merely indicates the time zone as an offset from UTC (in this case Eastern Daylight Time); it doesn't mean to subtract four hours from the time given. Also consider whether you reset your camera for the end of DST last month; if not, that would contribute to its clock being set wrong, meaning it would have only been one hour off (about 7:50 pm). Sunset that day was 8:46 pm, and given the angle of the shadow on the top of the yellow portion of the tower cast by the checkered portion, it's reasonable to say that the sun was low in the sky, and the sun is hitting the tower from the west, which backs up that conclusion. So I would say that it was taken shortly before 8:00 pm. jcgoble3, playing forensic photograph examiner My camera has automatically switched to Standard time, as current photos show a -05:00 at the end. Further investigation has revealed that my camera appears to be about 2:16 ahead of real time, 20:50 - 2:16 would be about 6:34pm. I am now suggesting a time of 6:34pm on May 18, 2012.

Two minutes after I took a pic of the Festhaus clock which said 12:00. According to the exif file: 2012-05-18T20:50:45.60-04:00 May 18, 2012. 4:50pm if my camera's time was set properly, but I don't think it was(It is showing an advanced time of two hours now. Probably a little earlier in the afternoon. Maybe just before 3pm EDT, but that is really just a guess.

Yes, after finally reading all the rules, that is accurate. Unless 'Old Helicopter rdie' means Backlot Stunt Coaster.

You're supposed to give one easy and one hard. Both of those would qualify as "hard", methinks. Okay, then I'll change Option 2 to a photo of Snoopy Starlight Spectacular area (the stars with lights and huge flowers and things area)
