"Potterland" Expansion at USF Now Official
kblanken replied to jzarley's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Looking at the attendance numbers for the last few years, SeaWorld took a bigger drop than WDW did. Whenever I hear of somebody visiting Florida for a theme park vacation week, it has always sounded like they visit Universal for just a day or two, and still visit WDW for three or four days. If Universal gets more people to stay another day, instead of adding one more Disney day that that could change the numbers a bit; but in some ways more people visiting Orlando for theme parks could be good for Disney. -
That is similar to how I feel, but about the Wingrider coasters instead.

Flight of Fear has a new blank spot right about where there used to be a Fort Kinzel sign.

Today was the first time that Cedar Fair gave me the 'terpy turnstile treatment'. My renewed Cedar Point Platinum pass didn't work at the parking gates. The nice lady (all of them were nice today) told me to go inside the season pass building and get it fixed. In there, I showed my card and the confirmation report that I printed off. It took three people to figure it out, and an additional computer, but they finally switched to something that showed I was good. They told me it will work at the gate. At the gate, it flashed a big X. They asked if I had already been in today (no), if it was a platinum(yes), and they had me visit guest services. In guest services they ended up finding my info and matching it to something, and gave me a new Kings Island platinum pass to replace my old CP pass. The new KI pass worked after that, but I won't be surprised if I get to visit the Cedar Point guest services in a few weeks. My pass still says a hand stamp is required for re-entry...it also states that I cannot get into Kings Island FearFest. I'll probably be getting a stamp any time I plan to do a re-entry.

WindSeeker is running now.

A bumblebee. Flying around on an inverted B&M themed to a bee, named Stinger.

What did I miss? me doing an edit...I spelled something wrong when I was mentioning something else spelled wrong.
-
So should we watch for a sticker over 'occurance', too?
-
Ohiocolts has a photo report thread that shows half the menu including prices.
-
So, an inverted B&M to go along with the other inverted coaster and suspended coaster in Action Zone? They could theme the entire area to upside down world.
-
Obvious? Some of us are still in the dark about what is coming.

From this thread, there is a transcript showing what was mentioned at that time: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/26972-a-diversion/

I'll probably save more if the percent discount thing comes true, but I did have fun with the interactive part of watching my FUN Perks go up, and the whole program.

Last year the Stunt Crew Grill had burgers. I don't think it was open towards the end of the season, but sometimes there was a mobile burger cart that showed the same menu. Interesting that there are 'Saratoga Chips'...are those just fresh cut potato chips?

Little like the Smurfs? Are you helping them escape from Gargamel?

It describes gravity as 'the force that pulls everything towards Earth's center'. Not a very good way to define it, considering the National Geographic Society is a scientific and educational institute.

Fast Lane "Plus" Comes to some of the Cedar Fair Parks
kblanken replied to CoasterGeek101's topic in Kings Island
Lo-Q also just bought Accesso, which Cedar Fair uses for tickets and phone apps. -
Is this referring to how the two sides split (or break) away from each other to do the turnaround? (As in, not meaning there is an intended rest period, or an intended speed-dropping brake)

Silver Dollar City 2013 Coaster
kblanken replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
They are a similar concept, but Outlaw Run has a single solid bar that runs across the lower legs. (FoF has a bar with extra orange things if I remember right?) there are photos of the seats on the newsplusnotes site from their IAAPA review: http://newsplusnotes.blogspot.com/2012/11/scott-and-carol-present-unveiling-of.html -
Prince George's County will have highs almost 50 degrees if you want the weekend to be a wild one.

Silver Dollar City 2013 Coaster
kblanken replied to Captain Nemo's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
I just came back from a couple of days at Silver Dollar City, and the ride is great. It isn't much more than half a minute long, but the whole ride is intense moment after another intense moment. First drop was crazy, and the rest of the ride felt like a GCI ride that was cranked up to 11. The crowds were quite heavy while I was there (Friday afternoon and Saturday morning/afternoon), and ride wait times were 45 minutes at the shortest for Outlaw Run. I heard one guy tell another guy he thought the ankle restraints hurt his shins, but otherwise all reviews and conversations were that it is phenomenal and a definite hit. I very much enjoyed it, but not my most favorite. As a comparison to SDC's twin park, I have a slight preference that Thunderhead is in the closer of the two parks.
