Bag stolen at Kings Island, think it was my friend or accomplice
kblanken replied to icee96's topic in Kings Island
Clintonville is a neighborhood within Columbus, and does not have their own Police force. Was it perhaps Circleville instead? Circleville is south of Columbus by about 30 miles. (Clintonville the neighborhood starts four miles north of the Statehouse and goes north for several miles) -
It looks like Zamperla considers it both a coaster and a thrill ride, and that the hill in the middle of the ride is the difference between the Disk'O Coaster and all the other Disk'O type rides. (Edit to add) Rcdb.com is just a listing of what the guy running that site thinks are coasters. He considers Blazing Fury (Dollywood) and Underground (Adventureland) coasters, but no mention of the gravity pretzel rides. Other people have differing opinions on what a coaster is.

Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad
kblanken replied to CP&LERR Fan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
The weekend June 22-23 in a few days Cedar Point has a CP & LE Railroad 50th Anniversary celebration. I think they are offering tours of the engine house and are giving out special pins. -
Yeah, but Firehawk has a really long line sometimes.

Well, you could take a boat to it too.

Yeah, Knoebels doesn't really have a border, but there are some cabins that are between two roller coasters. Anyway, the one in California Adventure looks like it is inside the park, even if it has an entrance thing (a similar placement if KI was putting a hotel in this area.)
-
Knoebels and Disney's California Adventure have either a campground or hotel within the park.
-
No track support below that.
-
Other than the angle not being constant for the duration of the turn, it only goes about 3/4 of a rotation.

Diamondback has 2 helices 2 as in the one just before the mid course brakes and also just before the splashdown? The 'first' helix on Diamondback is debatable as to whether it really is a one. Oh, and the corkscrew on Vortex is a helix.

My hybrid CP/KI Platinum Pass went through without fuss at Cedar Point and Dorney Park too. I couldn't get a Pepsi though.

How long had it been since you rode it last? In the off-season before 2012, they did some retracking that made it really smooth. Here are a couple threads from a year ago talking about it: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25428-ride-the-beast-soon/ http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?/topic/25849-the-beast-2012/

KICentral Day Group Photo in International Restaurant
kblanken replied to Dane's topic in Kings Island
......That actually looks worse than hotsauce in Skyline crackers..... I think that looks like it would be awesome. Is this actually available somewhere without buying a funnel cake and then a blue ice cream separately? ......and I actually like putting hot sauce in Skyline crackers. I seem to always do that before the food comes out when I'm eating in a restaurant. -
It came from a twitter message by kingsislandPR on June 12th. It might involve the Red's Grille in some way, but it wouldn't be an announcement for the restaurant. I'm guessing there will be some famous Reds or Bengals players coming later this season or something like that.
-
August is a likely time for an announcement, as the regular season is ending and the park will be looking to sell passes for next year. No date has been officially mentioned for the release. Also, KI has been announcing and giving clues for special events this year all season long, and will probably not want to overshadow those until the time is right. The last one was for "a special event for later this summer that will excite Cincinnati sports fans."

Fast Lane "Plus" Comes to some of the Cedar Fair Parks
kblanken replied to CoasterGeek101's topic in Kings Island
Grand Carousel and Kings Island & Miami Valley Railroad also don't have a Fast Lane option. (Edit to add: Also Flight Deck) -
I'd like some new flat rides in the park too, and HUSS has some fun ones, but they didn't make WindSeeker.

I'll answer some of them. I cut a few out that I couldn't answer. I would say it isn't. I like the restraints. They are not the same as Magnum's. I think they are the same as other Morgan coasters (?) They are old. Thunderbolt has severe laterals and fun drops; Jack Rabbit has the original double down; Racer is just considered a fun time usually. All people can go through it and enjoy it. Shorter than the Potato Patch lines when I've been there. Dollywood has a large number people of people that go to the park but don't actually ride the rides. I try to visit both of them on non-busy days, so I can't give a for sure response. Dollywood's Ticket is way more expensive than what a Kennywood day would be. If you go to Kennywood, you can get a big discount by going to a Giant Eagle grocery store and buying one for I think $13 off the already cheaper price. *(Edit to add: I am not sure if this discount is available still. Kennywood tickets without that discount are still like less than half a Dollywood ticket) No, it is one of the smoothest wooden coasters I have ridden. Tennessee Tornado is good, but not long of a ride. The loops are interesting in a good way. Mystery Mine is a little painful at times, but fun. There is some neat theming going on with it. Wild Eagle is fun too...it is a B&M ride, so if you like those you will probably like this one too. Yes. There are some people that say it is the best theme park food in the world.
-
Pardon me, but when did I say that? You did say the first part of it. There should have been a MCRB before the last sentence.
-
...or, if you consider pure thrills to mean inversions on roller coasters, Dollywood would be the better choice. Otherwise, Kennywood.
-
I wonder if Mr. Ouimet ever rode Shock Wave at SFoT. Comfortable, very forceful, 42" height minimum, family friendly, yet still thrilling. Same thing with Mindbender SFoG. Probably a bit tough now to create one of those though.
-
You aren't the only one that thought Mummy was "ok".
-
They are matched rather close when comparing pure thrills. I'd recommend Kennywood if all their rides are operating that day.

So it isn't a christmas season joke?
