  1. Scream: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Not loud enough. (post changed because malem was quicker with the same info)
  2. Was it ever clarified that fourth biggest park was regarding attendance? I remember seeing something Cedar Fair released that grouped parks by attendance, and though they didn't give actual numbers, it did group them by categories. There were four parks in the 3+ million group, and Carowinds was in the middle group behind those.
  3. I've never been small enough at Cedar Point to ride that, but I really doubt it has the same kind of insane airtime as Skyrush and El Toro.
  4. You mentioned two other Cedar Fair parks and a Disney park after that.
  5. Which do you mean: Camden Park or Cedar Point?
  6. Quickest ride crews I've ever seen are running Phoenix at Knoebels. No seatbelts, no loading gates, and the pay-per-ride incentive of making more money based on how quick you can move the trains. (They were still maintaining safety and a friendly attitude, too.) My vote goes to Zephyr for most fun interaction.
  7. They asked about those offseason perks, and to rate them 1 (best) through 5 (least), and wouldn't let me proceed without giving something each of the 1 2 3 4 and 5 rankings. I wish they would have let me put 5 for all of them, or left a comment box so that I could have explained that I don't care about any of those options.
  8. Not if those extra visitors are Ohioans using Platinum Passes that they already had for park entry, and then spend all day without buying anything.
  9. If you instead go past Erie and Buffalo, there are a couple nice little parks with some fun wooden coasters (Waldameer and Martin's Fantasy Island). Even if you don't want to spend much time or money, Waldameer offers pay per ride tickets and no entrance fee. Ravine Flyer II is highly regarded. That route would add about 30 miles.
  10. The architecture of the other buildings on International Street are as international as the Eiffel Tower.
  11. http://rcdb.com/76.htm?p=5783 Can you guys tell me which of these two loops is the only loop size they use?
  12. As of next year - Six Flags Mexico, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Over Texas, Silver Dollar City, and Six Flags Great America will have a RMC coaster. If Darien Lake, Six Flags America, Kings Dominion, Carowinds, Dollywood, Kings Island, Kennywood, and Camden Park all somehow ended up with one, the line connecting them on a map would look really similar to a Golden Spiral. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_spiral)
  13. I may be wrong but I thought we still did have that record. What park now has the most? Six Flags Great America will exceed the distance Kings Island has if Goliath is longer than 2,081 feet.
  14. But is it not at least an incentive for the park to raise the admission/pass price?
  15. Same concept as why should I have to pay for the soda that half the teenagers in central Connecticut drink when I visit Lake Compounce. (+ Indiana and Kentucky too.)
  16. They may not all be boneheaded. If they sent in an RSVP with multiple names because of an underage family member, a now-missing post from yesterday could have led them to believe it was ok to do. // Have fun everyone, I don't think this weekend will be one I can visit Kings Island.
  17. Looking at each park calendar, I can't find any non-California Cedar Fair parks open Tuesday.
  18. They ran two for your visits?Maybe they just wanted me to have longer lines
  19. During backwards time this year at SF Great America, they ran a single train on the backwards ride, and did not use the other trains at all.
  20. We pay a very large amount of dollars for those interstate routes, just not directly upon use...billions and billions.
  21. http://greatcoastersinterns.com/?page_id=143 One of the interns(Eric Wilcox) at Great Coasters left this as part of a blog message: "top secret project that GCII has been working on for a major amusement park. I cant really share any details but be on the lookout for an announcement from GCII in the coming months!" It was posted on August 9 of this year. Not too many North American parks left to announce, but this could be something good.
  22. Kings Island ride operators have posted on here saying that with an hour ERT, they would sometimes sit in an empty station for half an hour before people would start showing up to ride.Cedar Point also has the ERT for the resort people, and there is no shortage of people to fill up an hour there. I'm confused with you on the food discounts...I would guess Kings Island's perks are directed towards the gold pass (and just include platinum as the same perks). All the food deals are things like buy a whole pizza, four whole chickens and a diet cola, or get a discount on 4 salads, but platinum pass holders probably aren't as interested in that as a gold pass family would be. CP deals are good for small groups or even a single person to use, and they probably want to sell as many platinum pass holders as they can get, so they offer more.
  23. I'm excited to hear the announcements tomorrow...especially the SFGAm ride.
  24. Snapping - Controlling your speed enough to allow slack on the cables, and the subsequent noise that accompanies the 'bounce' you get when cables above the scooter snap back to tautness. Not caused by rapid flailing of the sail, which is what some parks seem to be annoyed with moreso than actual snapping. Example:
  25. It seems GCI wants to build a new Rye Airplane. They made a NoLimits version and mention how much it has inspired them. Kings Island does have a nice relationship with Great Coasters right now, and could use a new wooden coaster in a few years... Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true. Oh, Wouldn't it be nice.
