That's tough... I understand trying to get people through the gates but this could be bad. $18 tickets ($8 for the fair and $10 for KK) may lead to big crowds but long lines, hot temps, and a crowd that is notorious for having some bad apples... seems like a problem just waiting to happen.

In my area Kroger has the better deal. Two years ago Indianapolis Kroger stores sold KI tickets for $30. That is where I went to buy tickets before I bought my platinum pass.

I have a feeling this is going to be a Mack coaster. Enough to be intense for enthusiasts but calm enough for younger kids to ride. I am also starting to think that the released blueprint of the footers (If they are from the actual ride being built and not smoke and mirrors) shows the first inversion that will be built in HW.

Kings Island's wing rider, The Bat. Terp was being sarcastic.

I don't know why but my mind made this connection. Discovery was also a name of a NASA space shuttle. I'm 100% sure that has nothing to do with the new attraction but I have heard those space shuttles produce some wild rides...

I went to the event. They really didn't hype it up too much. But I did talk to Matt for a little while and I asked him if Mayflower is connected with the new ride for 2015 and also if they had something planned for 2016 as well. He chuckled and said maybe. He said all will be found out at the end of the 66 days with a big smile. He said it will be like Christmas in July. I don't know what it will be but they seemed pretty excited if you asked them personally but there wasn't a major announcement unless they did one right at the beginning of the dinner buffet. We missed the beginning by about 20 minutes.

Just thought of this because of day 2's video. They show the water park and the pool is the "sea" they are sailing on. I took this as a hint that they are moving away ("sailing away") from the water park and looking for "dry land" and working to add something on the dry side of the park. I am most likely wrong but I just thought of it while watching the video.

Holiday World Free Day (5/15/2014)
Joncars05 replied to MantisMan's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Trees have been cleared! A big announcement is coming soon. This micro site (66DaysAtSea.com) is going live on 5/19/14 This blog has more teasers: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2014/05/15/loose-lips-sink-ships/ Something big is going down at HW and it looks like it may be speculation time here soon as to what is coming in the near future! -
I love the batwing! Great forces coming into the second half of it. The sheer size of them is just amazing! I will saw I thought the in line roll was just thrown in there for another inversion but it is tied for my second favorite part of the ride with the Zero G. This is a fantastic addition to Kings Island.

Are all of the fences for the lockout zones of Banshee up yet? If they aren't my guess would be that they will not test Banshee until the perimeter fences are set up at the low points. Doesn't seem safe to test a ride without the lockout zones finished.

I agree with you. I mentioned this in a TR a couple of years back for Busch Gardens Tampa. It felt weird and awkwardly quiet when you got off an awesome ride like Montu or Kumba and you heard nothing but people getting off the ride. Even if they aren't sincere and/or just required to ask "How was your ride" its nice to get the routine "Wooooo" from everyone on the ride. It makes the ride seems more fun/memorable to me. I think as long as the spiel is done AND the ride op can ensure the safety of the passengers then I'm all for it.

Do I really come off as that stupid to you? Just got in from an eventful night with Lindz...pics and stuff to come later, ticked they posted the sign thing, got a ton of pictures of that No you don't come off as stupid for one second. In fact I really like a lot of your posts and insight you give to this board! You are probably one of my favorite posters on this board! Like Malem mentioned this was a general message to everyone because of an incident that happened a little while ago that could have completely ruined our relationship with Kings Island. I hope we have all learned from that mistake.

Please remember: If you take photos and/or glances of Banshee, please do so from LEGAL areas ONLY! Please DO NOT trespass on to Kings Island property. We have 6 weeks until there is a chance to meet Banshee up close and personal... So be patient! Kings Island has and will give us plenty to chew on until Media Day and Opening Day.

As much as I would enjoy that, the park would not be making as much money. ALOT of people smoke, and if smoking is banned at KI, then they wouldn't go to KI... That's completely ridiculous. Most likely true, but ridiculous. Does security card people who smoke but don't look 18? I've seen teens who look 15-16 and smoke. Designated area or not. I know I'm late to this but security doesn't do a lot of enforcing rules (Dress Codes, Line Cutting, People using foul language, Smoking outside of designated areas, Running in the park, etc). Security has always seemed lax to me at KI.

The queue near the brake run will possibly be in range of protein spills. Hopefully they have something there to keep people in line out of the splash zone...

We could use some heat with the way this winter has been going!

I would be fine with tombstones throughout a couple of the low passes, even though I don't think they are necessary. I would really like to see fog blanket the lower ground (during night rides) after going through the zero-g element. I still believe that is when the ride will really take off and the fog would give a feeling of flying into the "unknown." It will also give a great feeling of the ride being out of control.

I take off all my keys except my car key and attach it to a lanyard. I loop/tie the lanyard around one of the belt loops on my shorts/jeans and the slip the end with the key into one of my pockets. Even if the key slips out, it's still tightly secured with the lanyard tied around my belt loop. I have found this method to be a safe and secure way to carry keys around KI. That is what I do now. One of my friends gave me a similar idea after I told him my lost keys story. I wish I thought of it before I lost my keys! It seems so simple now! Haha

Call me crazy, but I don't like risking losing my phone and wallet on a ride...I don't trust them to not fall out Lost my keys on DB a couple of years ago with deep cargo button up pockets. The next day an $250 later I got new keys and headed home to Indy. No matter how hard you try to hold onto things in pockets or zippers there is alway a chance of stuff falling out of your pockets. Especially on a ride that inverts you 7 times. Thats why i dont like the policy. Its either risk losing your keys on a ride or pay money to lock things up everytime you get on it.

I do understand this is a business. Just because the money has to come from somewhere doesn't mean I have to like the way they are recouping the money. Nor does it mean I have to participate in the penny pinching.I have a voice and can use my actions of not paying the locker or buying things in the park to protest the move of requiring lockers for loose articles. Not every park charges for lockers on rides and they get by just fine. See Holiday World.

Sorry per locker rented. Edited for clarity.
