Which I already inferred, but I'm still hesitant on calling KK as Cincy News locale. It could be, but it could be not.
-
Wait, what theming? I never notice anything while trying to avoid the water!

Personally, I think KK and KI can coexist. Heck, they did for years, even with Six Flags doing their best to fail. I can say that, as a Louisvillian, I liked KK (pre-Six Flags) because it was local, it had decent rides for its size, and I was there in 10 minutes. I can maybe make it to KI two or three times in a season if I plan it well. KI is an event for me. On the other hand, I can hit KK any given day, ride a few rides, hop back in the car and be at the zoo before the gates close. I consider that a good thing! From what I've read, nobody involved with KK has any delusions of beating KI. KI is a totally different beast (hyuck, hyuck). Don't be putting words in my mouth, I did not imply such. I am just presenting the logic in the web searches. I have hopes for KK, I really do, but I don't pick sides before opening date. I won't even make such an conclusion untill the end of the season, or at least near the end. Like I said, I'm not picking sides, but I will be frequenting the park and I have high hopes for its success, just use logos while discussing this subject, and try, for the sake of your ethos, don't take a side. Sorry, I think we must have gotten our wires crossed here. I wasn't attempting to put word in your mouth, and I certainly didn't mean to make it sound like I was arguing. You asked if this was a David and Goliath situation, which to me sounded like you were seeking opinions on whether or not these parks will have to compete with each other. I'm of the opinion that neither park is a threat to the other, for reasons I've already mentioned. I didn't think you were taking sides, especially since I don't think there's a fight. 1. Rhetorical Question2. Of course they will! They are both in the near vicinity of HW, KI competes with HW and vice versa. KI competes with CP, roughly less to KK in vicinity and KI had a 2 park deal, so that idea that people commune that way can work inversely. If you look up that allusion, David defeats Goliath, David wins, Goliath falls; though, with that also it means a little guy vs big guy situation, which are unknown in any case. Rhetorical BB1, by the way, welcome to KIC.

Fair but just showing free buzz can be generated from media sitesSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Which focus on major parks, and to some number, focus on KI rather than KK.Fair point, but shouldn't KK send news releases to news stations in Louisville and Lexington, maybe Frankfurt? No reporting done from any of these sites.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk I've seen reporting via local news pretty regularly. The Thunder Run event got quite a bit of attention, at least by Louisville standards. I'm still scratching my head over the lack of Lightning Run coverage. The news stations paid more attention to them tearing down Greezed Lightnin'. I'm sure they're just waiting until there's pretty construction site footage they can show the viewers. The huge turnout for the job fair had a fair bit of news coverage as I recall, but then I'm also seeking out KK information, which I'm sure not everyone is doing. Seeing how KK is more of a local attraction than a "destination," they probably don't see as much return on early advertising as a big park like KI would. That's the thing, without me looking in the internet news, or going down to Louisville,I wouldn't know it was re-opening. That's why I speak of it often, and keep an unbiased position because in this kind of situation, bad ideas can darken the presight of the park.To Shark: I think that to news rooms, a "local" idea is more regional, not reaching the region of Louisville.

Note: Banshee broke records Banshee is a B&M, popular with many populations, especially the home grounds of Europe. Lightning Run, though a new style, is at a small park, that only have small enthusiast bases on miscellaneous sites(TPR, C-net, KIC, etc) Banshee is at a large fan base park, which, has world record breaking attractions.(KIC, KIE, TPR, C-net, CC, etc) SOB was probably one of the most "multi-fan based" spoken of topics, so the reclaimer of the site surely gets uber news. KK is a fledgling park, which ALREADY has flak, and strong hopes for good times. David and Goliath? (No, not a Six Flags attraction)

It flowed better with a previous statement that I revised, sorry for the confusion.

I don't mean to be rash, but when I say very hopeful, I mean that I am very hopeful to see it in full fruition. On the flip side, I would much rather see from you to go into full detail than to just type two words of confirmation. Will the station be photogenic? Will the coaster and station be photogenic? Will the grass be photogenic? Still on the topic, maybe I should elaborate on what I mean when I say this. I am hopeful to see the tombstones in sight while in plaza around the coaster, making it more photogenic than the latter. I am hopeful to see how much they put into the station, possibly making an in station shot more photogenic than the latter. BB1, who goes in depth on his responses.

Yep, Vertigo is a great song, I think U2 would like it better on the Invertigo you know.
-
It's going to look great period, I am very hopeful of how this coaster will turn out photogenically.

I would join, but, I feel that I wouldn't even make it to the event to begin with, plus, if I were to be able to attend, the cut off date has passed, and my dollars for my vacation fund would dwindle. Though, I am looking forward to any KIC/CC conjunction events that I could attend, because any KIC event is a great event. (Please, no flash photography of BB1)

BB1 replied to Ride On_17's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Oh my, I thought this was a chicken joint. If I ever, yes I have never been to the Point, go to the Cedar Point, I will have to try this. BB1, a seafood enthusiast since childhood! -
Disney Fastpass+ at Walt Disney World
BB1 replied to bkroz's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
-3 picks, that's about how much I usually gotat WDW. - 5 for deluxe? Score for me! -Basically a easy way of credit fraud/marketing? It couldn't be! BB1, a Disney enthusiast who is displeased, though, will commune the establishment in the right season. -
A total remake of the SOB, same wood and bolts, with two loops and a corkscrew, and call it PAIN.

Me thinks BB1 bought himself a thesaurus! Me thinks my brain isn't a thesaurus?

No, just your average rhetor.

Youthere, sounds like YoungStud if you ask me. BB1, just being corny KK has some major problems, and some major perks in the area, both sides have valid arguments which I would have to agree. Yet I still would like to remind you that this is the off season, and an conclusion now is just premature and childish for me. Therefore, under those circumstances, I do believe that those who are silent now, or periodically partake in this locus, are treading good ethos in the matter with discussing both sides before such an idea of yes or no of what is to come. Though, do not shut down the opposition automatically, nor name call the opposition, that just makes you look stultus; instead take in the idea, and work it for your idea, or bring up a few ideas and discuss, the reason why forums are forums. If ye has never noticed, this is the place whar flame wars doth reside. BB1, who will just stay peachy, not corny.

Every coaster has a name, which could be a good thing or a bad thing. It could be bad if it is a clone, like Batman, or Superman, or a good thing if it is special to the coaster, like Banshee, or The Bat. So, what are some interesting coaster names? Or, what coaster names do you think will be a good idea? Good Coaster Names: -The Beast -Millennium Force -Silver Bullet Coaster Name Ideas: -Thor -Centurion -Konungr

I learned of this months ago, and have been keeping up with it ever since. The slide itself is huge for any standard, it is definitely pushing the limits. On a side note, there's a blog about this standards idea here: http://coaster-net.com/blogs/428-the-waterpark-revolution/ It's not finished yet, being part 1, but still a good read for the mean time.
