cause all the trims hurt my neck. It should be ran with no trims! Beast's magnetic brakes hurt your neck but the other coasters don't? Umm... Pretty sure if the ride was RUN without trims, it probably wouldn't be there anymore.

That used to drive me insane. We would take the time to announce TWICE that they WILL lose things if they don't secure their things in the freaking pouches. Then I would hear people say "It'll be fine," on the way into the ride. Then they would have the nerve to act upset that "our" ride made them lose "their" stuff. I understand nobody's perfect, and unfortunatenly there are some preshow operators who can't make a clear announcement, but it's those fools who just ignore the warnings and then go ballistic that drove me nuts.

I've actually dealt with both of those items being lost at Tomb Raider. But I'd have to say wallets, hats, and keys are the most common.

PKI's Slingshot shoots up 265 ft. The Slingshot at Old Town in Kissimmee, Florida shoots up 365 feet. It also doesn't have the ball around the seats. It's pretty much two Drop Zone-style seats connected to the cables. I've ridden it and it's crazy, especially when you shoot up higher than the giant Skycoaster!

I think the XL drawings are simply more detailed. The drawings on the Giant Frisbee page are just simple representations. They probably used the Delirium photos because a regular Frisbee looks a bit different from a Giant/XL.

A Frisbee XL seems to be a slightly smaller (therefore, cheaper) version of the Giant Frisbee, holding 40 riders instead of 50.

Why do you think that, about "the motor"? ..matt Yeah, I'd tend to think the opposite. The drives sit off to the side and the gear is in the "guts" of the pivot at the top. But like Matt said earlier, the rides are designed to facilitate repairs and maintenance (for the most part anyways).

Why they gotta be black? Would you have rather they said something else? I mean is it not politically correct to call someone of African Amercian decent "Black"? I have lots of Black friends and if I called them African Americans they would look at me an laugh! People kill me with all this POLITICAL RIGHT AND WRONG WORDS! Get a life! LOL. Well it was meant as a joke. But I meant why did he have to mention that they were black. If they were white would he have said, "There was this group of white people just talking in the Son of Beast queue?" It just sounded odd to me.

If there isn't a line, then the queue switchbacks should be closed anyways. The thing that I could never figure out though, was why several rides have a "mandatory" queue that can't be closed. (Face/Off, Italian Job, Tomb Raider off the top of my head)

Not staffing merch stands, food stands, and photographers in order to staff rides sounds good in theory, but is very difficult in practice. None of those people have been through any sort of rides training which is quite different than their own departmental training. You have to learn a lot of general information, then get trained on individual rides. All of that takes time. You can't skip any of that training, or you end up with unsafe operators. Like 307 said, the solutions are either: hire more temps or more full-timers or not open during the week that early in the season. Neither is probably going to happen.

You try to find mature adults who will work a seasonal job. Heck, some of the 16, 17, 18 year-olds I worked with at PKI were more mature and mannered than a lot of the adult guests.

It was indeed supposed to indicate a "malfunction of the ride vehicle" according to the Technifex info. But it never quite lined up the way it was supposed to.

The sparker didn't really make sense, but it was a cool effect. That was for operator/guest safety.

Actually, I'm pretty sure last year, they knew what the problem was, but were unsure how to fix it. They were waiting for Huss to come up with something.

Face/Off was simply meant as a clever name because it describes the seating position as well as being a Paramount movie. It doesn't mean pictures of John Travolta have to be all over.
