  1. Rattler doesn't sound like a terrible coaster. I haven't heard any incidents like I have Son of Beast, but it could have had maybe one minor incident or something of the like. I think Rattler is fine and does not live up to the "non-exciting, poorly-built RCCA Standard".
  2. Did people not know what th plural of helix was?! Helices! If they were still around I'd... I'd... Well I don't know what I'd do! But I'd do something!
  3. Gee, I wish people would respect that when I say I love The Crypt! All I get is "DOOD WHY DAT THING SUX!!!!!!!!"
  4. Glad you had a great time. What did you see in The Crypt's ride chamber? Any temporary walls or was it too far away to see? Many of your pictures don't work by the way.
  5. We can all love things like I do (The Crypt), but that doesn't mean that every post has to be about that thing we love. Granted, BB1 has calmed down since then, so I too think that we should leave him alone.
  6. So I guess water parks in Austrailia don't count?
  7. I almost forgot! I also have a Flight of Fear and Firehawk pressed penny (whatever you call it) from the $10 and Under store in Coney, a Vortex poster, a blue drawstring bag along with the current Kings Island logo, a maroon drawstring bag with the old Kings Island logo (they call it the "vintage" logo? It has an "English style" font or something of the like), and a couple other things.
  8. If B&M made Wal-Mart brand coasters, they'd break within the first week of operation
  9. We are recovering from a depression. And if financial anylists are to be believed, we'll be seeing crap hitting the fan come January again. Anyways, 1 word to the FB poster: Inflation.
  10. Jump2 looks fantastic. Glad you were able to ride a ride with more downtime than Tomb Raider: The Ride! How was it? I've never been, but my thoughts are much like KIFanatic.
  11. This trip sounds great. You'll be glad you did it. Make sure you tell us your dolphin's name for the dolphin swim! Mine was Thelma. Also, if you just tread water and pretend you can swim, you'll do fine. I should know! =P The water the animals live in is all salt water. The only "pool water" or chlorine water is in the lazy river and pool surrounding it. I accidentally got some salt water in my mouth in the newer animal exibit (something about a reef? I think it's the Great Reef or something?). Have a great time!
  12. Was Sledgehammer open when you went? I hope you visited their Sky Lab, Orbiter. Wonderland's flat package is incredible. Glad you had a great time!
  13. Already? Wow. I wonder how long it will take Kings Island to demolish Son of Beast (although that is a bigger ride).
  14. Well, I did that, and he didn't move. =P Plus, he sometimes drinks from the toilet... I dunno. He's messed up.
  15. Items not shown: Crypt hat, Crypt shirt, Firehawk shirt, mini Eiffel Tower with LED at base, 2009 park map. Yeah, I couldn't get my cat to move. You got a problem with that?
  16. I adore Discovery Cove as well. At first I was confused. I knew that we would get free food, free drinks, free dessert, etc, but it felt so awkward not having to pay! Discovery Cove is an absolutely wonderful place, and I highly reccommend it to anyone who is going there. Are you using the free pass to either BGT or Seaworld that is available to you through the Discovery Cove ticket? (A note about Seaworld- Their observation tower is similar to Space Spiral...and is an upcharge. It is visible from Discovery Cove only from the entrance to the "lazy" river.) When I visited Discovery Cove, I, too, felt like it was more of a spa or an actual forest in South America than it is a park. Just be careful to not assume the water with the animals is chlorine! I learned the hard way! Discovery Cove is super secluded, and a super nice place. Add in the factor that a very miniscule number of guests can enter the park the entire day, and, well, it just makes the day even better. I don't even think they have a smoking area! Their lazy river isn't lazy by any means. I know I got my exercise for the day by going through it once. You don't have innertubes, so you're forced to either walk or swim through it. The elevation changes rapidly, and for the most part, you'll be swimming. I would think it's over a mile long, but don't quote me on that. It also takes you through an aviary, and it too is beautiful (just like everything else in the park). There are steep drop offs for the floor of the lazy river, along with great scenery and lush surroundings. Are you doing a dolphin swim? If so, the water will be cold (but you'll get used to it). It's a blast! Your trip is worth it for Discovery Cove alone.
  17. A wavepool isn't enough to justify it being an expansion. There needs to be a waterslide very soon, and management knows that. Why would you wait as much as 2+ hours for 2 minutes of fun on a roller coaster?
  18. There isn't a need to delete this thread. Why don't we delete every thread prior to 2006, because that was Paramount and it doesn't matter anymore? Maybe we should keep this thread open, because people still have an interest in reading it? Also, years from now, someone may want to come back to this thread because you can see pictures and great ideas (not the one above). One more thing, how about we delete all the construction pictures from the photo gallery because "construction has already been completed"?
  19. Why do people say that the dry park "needs" a new roller coaster? The last time the dry park got a roller coaster was in 2009. 2009! The last time Soak City got any new slides was in 2004. And one of them just replaced an old slide! So really, only one gain in attractions that year. How did the water park get hugely expanded when all they added was a wave pool? I wouldn't necessarily call that an expansion and say we're done with it for a few more years. Soak City is in desperate need of a new slide, whilst Diamondback hasn't lost a bit of its luster. Quit your complaining, because the dry park doesn't need a new attraction. Soak City does. EDIT: Also, KI-ORIG-EMP, just because you hate Soak City more than BB1, doesn't mean others don't enjoy it. So quit raining on everyone's parade and let the water park get something new other than cabanas, another wave pool, new bathrooms, or similar. Good day to you, sir.
  20. I'll try to address the questions as clear as I can... SheiKra loads in a similar fashion to Maverick, except there are no extra turnstiles for the front rows. Think of Maverick's loading station, with a shorter line for the 2 train first row vs. the 1 train, 1 row. The GP of the park assume that the 2 train is the same train as the first one, so they wait longer for the front row of the first train, rather than what they think is the 4 row (but in actuality, it's the 2 train front row). Ok... That must have been super confusing. PM me and I'll explain it when I have more time to think... Unless somebody here explains it first! Butter beer is impossible to describe; unless you say it tastes like butter beer. It does not contain alcohol. The locker situation there is a bit weird. Actually, the whole system's kinda...eccentric. Instead of a photo ID for (at least the) park hopper tickets, they use your thumb print as your main source of identification. If you're using a 2 day ticket, they'll also have you rewrite your name on your ticket so they can match it up with yesterday's signature, to verify that it was you. The lockers: Now, I only experienced the locker situation at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey, but I assume that it is parks-wide. To rent a locker, you say hit "rent locker" on the automated kiosk, then they scan your thumb print on a pad. You can only use that once for a ride locker the entire day. The first hour is free, so if you select "1 hour" on the kiosk, you just find your locker, and be on your way. Ok, that was a waste of time. I don't think that made sense at all. You might as well just ask Delirium_Guy. Probably doesn't stink at explaining things like me!
  21. I'll just drop the question. It's not worth beating around the bush with you.
  22. I checked the KD Haunt Update thread for Terpy's "legal advice" and found that it would have to be done reasonably. So what happens when it is not reasonable?
