  1. Busch Gardens on Facebook: "Shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, Busch Gardens’ officials began evacuating the park’s England village after an employee received information regarding a bomb threat. James City County authorities were notified. Guests and employees were escorted out of the England village and the park was closed for approximately 10 minutes. Nothing was found, and the park reopened. Out of an abundance of caution, the England village remains closed at this time. Guests entering or leaving the park are being escorted to an alternate park entrance."
  2. For me, here's the thing with Mean Streak.... I'm not a fan of the ride itself, because it is honestly quite boring, but I do have reasons for riding Mean Streak once during every visit to the park.....(and only once) I'd say it's usually about 7:00 in the evening, or somewhere around there, when the sun is starting to go down, I head for Mean Streak, and generally walk onto it, or wait 1 or 2 trains. Soon after the "all-clear" is given and we head for the lift-hill, I start to realize exactly why I decided to ride Mean Streak. As I head up the lift hill, I look to my left and take in a view that, to me, is one if the best in the park..... The structure of a wooden roller coaster surrounding me, while looking out over the lake and watching the sun go down. The lake sparkles so perfectly and for that moment in time, I am truly pleased with my view from the peninsula.....And Mean Streak. There's not much more I can say to describe the perspective of the lake that you get while on the Mean Streak lift hill. If you haven't gotten a ride in on Mean Streak during that time of day, I would most definitely recommend it!
  3. Nice CP trip report, I really enjoyed reading it because it was very detailed! Thanks for sharing! ....On a side note..... Now that you mentioned it and witnessed it, too, one thing that really bugs me in a park is people tearing up and destroying plants and shrubs. The park works very hard to make the landscaping beautiful and keep it that way. Apparently, some folks just don't care about others' plants....
  4. There have been many factors that make me believe what I am about to suggest BUT....... Well....Quite honestly, I believe that the future of this Louisville Kingdom isn't looking very bright. In the case of Kentucky Kingdom and this "first" season, it's seeming that the actions are speaking just as loud as the words.....Well.....The words of the park employees and management that is. I'm not trying to be negative, I'm just trying to put together some very obvious things that have already been discussed in this topic, and point out some new things..... Anyway, it's only the end of June..... Let's watch! ....Your turn Mr. Hart.
  5. ...On a side note from the discussion above..... Cedar Point's 3rd live-video-cam was delivered a few days back and they are in the process of finding a good place for it somewhere in the park.
  6. @JasonMcClureCP on Twitter: "What a blast! Thanks Karrah Folk - Manager of Rides for going along!" (Photo : Jason McClure via Twitter) "That's up there! Awesome view! Looks like testing next few days and open Tuesday. Will let you know if earlier." (Photo : Jason McClure via Twitter)
  7. It was announced earlier today that the decision has been made to remove the Cyclone roller coaster at Six Flags New England. Cyclone roller coaster to end 31 year run at Six Flags New England Cyclone storms out of New England Cyclone at Six Flags to close next month The official announcement on the park's Twitter Page : Here (Accidentally put the wrong park, thanks VortexBBForever)
  8. Although I am not a member of this site, someone pointed out to me that there were some photos of new construction at Carowinds, on the Carowinds Connection site. Very interesting..... To say the least.... http://carowindsconnection.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3941&start=1500#p56388
  9. If you have a few minutes to spend watching this kind of thing.... Right now is a good time to watch some rides doing morning testing at CP on the live video cams. Skyhawk, Millenium Force, and Maverick are all currently going through their morning cycles. https://www.cedarpoint.com/online-fun/live-video-cam
  10. Great to see that an actual schedule is out now! I love watching bands like this perform in different locations throughout the park. Don't get me wrong though, I enjoy the shows in the Theater and the Festhaus, but I REALLY like to watch bands like this perform throughout the park. I''ll probably stop in and see one of their performances during the 3:30 time slot in Rivertown sometime this week.
  11. @SplashinDan on Twitter: "Ahrrrggghhh our PTC trains need more work than thought. Critical path update soon I promise. Rampage will ride again."
  12. Just listening to 105.7 in Indy and heard this Banshee radio channel opener : "This all 80's weekend is brought to you by Kings Island's all-new, high speed, Banshee roller coaster!" For this, I have to once again give the park much credit for getting Banshee out into the media so much!
  13. Honestly, American Idol is / was a fading show and I honestly could see this coming, in a way. Improvements have been made to try to boost the number of viewers and ratings in the past couple years but with X-Factor and all of those other new singing and performing shows, American Idol is kind of lost. (This is coming from someone who watches absolutely no television, and unfortunately folks love to talk to me about television quite a bit )
  14. The Son of Banshee and Beast?..... ....What a monster that would be.... ....As long as it's nothing like The Beast's first Son....
  15. Are you sure you didn't mean Mayflower?.... The folks in Santa Claus seem to like theirs pretty well..... .....TheBEASTunchained....Who still likes to feel the Fury of the Viking.....

  17. I agree with "KI FANATIC 37" in his post above..... It would be great to see Kings Island add some live-video cameras to the park like Cedar Point has done.
  18. Take notice to the SIX trend....... But wait! The FUN hasn't even started!......Yet.
  19. With the demise of so many of Six Flags' wooden coasters in the last few years, it's beginning to make me wonder how many wooden coasters that the chain will have left in the next 5-10 years.... Just something to think about....
  20. One of the most historic operating wooden roller coasters in the country, Colossus, of Six Flags Magic Mountain will be permanently closing on August 16, 2014. Banners / flags / signs about the closure of the ride have now been posted around the park that look like the one shown below. Photo : ThemeParkReview via Twitter
  21. ^ I haven't heard anything about how much the refurbishment of T2 will cost, yet. Nor do I think that any of those numbers have been released (if known) yet. ....But from what I have gathered, new trains will be the first thing to be purchased.
  22. The last peice of steel being put into place for the track of Six Flags Mexico's new Medusa Steel Coaster.
  23. Goliath completing one of the first official test runs at Six Flags Great America.........
