When I was getting of Surf Dog I heard a kid no older than 5 say: "Come on Mommy, lets go ride The Beastie!" My Dad gave a chuckle, and I, a large grin.

Okay so, we have done pretty well a decoding a lot more of 2014 than I think any of us bargained for. First Banshee Now The Bat But really intrigues me is what will come along with these awesome additions (yes I know The Bat really isn't an addition...) I hope for some generic face lift of the area and these announcements have defiantly supported that. I suspect that we will receive an X-base like subsection for Banshee and The Bat as of right now, there hasn't been to many hints of anything else getting a rename or theme. But really only the few up top know. For the last couple of weeks ( believe it began late september ) we noticed something underneath Flight Deck ( I'm going to probably switch back and forth a lot), they area under the station was being taken apart. Completely. now there are only cross beams going back and forth. So with this coming of 2014 I am contemplating what all we will really see. So we know for sure that we will be getting an all new inverted coaster named Banshee, Flight Deck will get repainted and renamed to The Bat. But what else can we expect? Xtreme Sky flying new name or could the entrance be moved towards Drop Tower? The bath rooms will they stay the ugly yellow and the Action Zoney look? I can not wait to come back in 2014 and get to experience the new realm we are getting. I'm going back and forth to look frantically at all of the media coverage of the new rides, and midways and see all the awesomeness or should I wait to experience it as a surprise myself.

I actually renamed it Flying Witches in my "If you owned Kings Island" Thread post. So I agree that would fit quite nicely. But also Pavers is something desperately needed, that would be a MAJOR plus for me, although the General Public probably wouldn't notice let alone care.

I feel like this site would be helpful in renaming Xtreme Sky flyer. Some of your Ideas are epic but might be a little out of Cedar Fairs range like enclosing Congo Falls, which wouldn't be unheard of (DT) but that might be a little much for them with already adding a 24 million dollar coaster, like Banshee. I loved the idea of turning Drop Tower's queue into a castle like structure with torches and such that would be amazing!

Absolutely Great Trip Report. I loved the the quick video. Did you know I sat in front of you on The Racer on sunday, you impressed The Racer operator with all of that fancy Cedar Fair talk. Thanks for sharing your version of the day. I am contemplating whether or not to write of mine on saturday and sunday, I am leaning towards going ahead and doing it, because like you said this section will remain rather dormant for a while. And thanks for sharing those stories and feelings of Kings Island and how it is more than "just an amusement park" you are right you have a pretty mind-blowing story but for others it is just a place to retreat and escape from the world.

So with Banshee and now The Bat we now have a little subsection on our hands don't we. Whether or not it will actually be officially considered by the park as Spooky Hallow or not we won't know until next season. But really we will consider it that way, or at least I will. If you take a look at the map than you realize that in our little paradise there is something out of place isn't there. Yeah! Xtreme Sky flyer is smack dab in the middle between Banshee and (now) The Bat. Now this got me thinking, well if they are Rename/retheming Flight Deck to The Bat to compliment the new attraction for 2014 and to give a tip of the hat to worlds first suspended coaster. Now if they did that why have such and Action Zoney ride right there. Hmmm? Maybe we are still awaiting more surprises. A new name for this pay per ride attraction which being right next to these new guest magnets will also rake in a lot of money. We all suspect that Flight Deck/ The Bat will experience an large increase in ridership so it was spruced up and given possibly a more manageable queue to handle this predicted new ridership. So can we expect a new name and theme to fit Xtreme Sky Flyer. I can only hope. I have also liked the idea of completely revamping Action Zone (sound familiar? ) to fit this new ride. There apparently is trend here of giving rides some new names and here at Kings Island in partially one that have been used previously. So, I would like LOVE to see an overhaul of the area. I liked the idea of Drop Tower becoming Demon Drop or Invertigo getting a new name ( think it would be a little awkward to have Demon Drop and Scream Demon right next each other). Over all this an outstanding direction to see the park go and like many, many of you have said you think that Kings Island and the entire chain is good hands. And I absolutely agree, this is AWESOME, I just hope to the heavens that this continues and we keep getting surprises along the way throughout the entire off season. Aswell as in the future.

Ditto for me; there's no better way to end the season. Were you dodging photos on purpose (a la TheCrypt), or did everyone just miss you? I wasn't avoiding them per say, but I wasn't in a particular rush to go out of the way to get in them(like some…). You noticed me, well that is nice I guess. I was in the 8th row. All alone…

What was your Last ride of the Season? Mine would be a train full of KICers on The Beast, chanting "K I C, K I C, on the way up both lift hills, a very fun and enjoyable ride. Waiting next to Terpy in line with "does this go up side down", and all sorts of other trivial hilarity, dodging photos like a Ninja. Very great way to end the season for me. How about you?

It is so surreal, I just can't believe that it is over. sniff, sniff… But I think this was a great season at Kings Island, I think a lot of the FUN of the new 2014 project was all of the speculating.

I wonder if they could even get anything from Intamin for that type of budget? ^^Jr. Gemini?A fan considering the expansion of maintenance department and cost of replacement parts.

I don't know why would start so earlier either if this is just a simple touch up. I'm betting that the offseason, when we can't see them, is when they'll kick into high gear and get stuff going. As a famous PR once said: "Guests will just have to come back in april".

Which ones were invited to Gatekeeper and Diamondback Media Days?

So mainly for Media day for Banshee but basically what are good paid or unpaid coaster clubs join, aside from this awesome site? I would be interested in joining one of them, are any of you members of any of these, are they worth it, would they get invited to Media day of Banshee ect.? -Thanks Nathan

^^ I believe they added a track segment coming out of the vertical loop, by that I mean they extended it, I am aware that there was track coming out of it yesterday also. In response to the clearance issue. I'm sure that B&M got the clearance right, I mean a massive 25 Million Dollar ride and they are like: "opps, my mistake" Come on.

How much does a B&M hyper coaster train run for these days?

Cedar Fair realize that B&M isn't that great? Why? Because of a little rattle? I'm sorry how does work? Never. Not once, have I seen someone get off of a B&M coaster not smiling. Scott Skinned his knee on the platform of Diamondback once, but he still laughed/cried on the way to the first aid station. So if people get off happy and smiling, why should Cedar Fair not purchase B&M's? And if this is going to turn into an empty battle between B&M and Intamin, stop it right now, because we took care of that issue awhile ago.

I can 100% guarantee that will not happen. A vast number of huss's "Giant Rides" have been discontinued. The crypt at Kings Island was and always will be the worlds ONLY giant top spin www.hussrides.com. Check out the giant category. Okay so not only is this an awesome poll but. I have a question for those insiders at Kings Island. First of all why were the Trams decommissioned? Are the old ones still usable? Now for the General Public of these sites. Would you like to see the Trams that roamed the Parking lots return or could not care the least bit? And do you think they will comeback ever, why or why not? It always seemed like a nice courtesy for people who don't want to walk the entire length of the parking lot, or even that can't like the elderly.

Will Banshee get the little rattle Gatekeeper and Diamondback have in the back? Probably not at first early in the season, but this ride is going to be running a marathon each and everyday. Will Maintenance try and keep on top of that? It has been said that the wheels where away, will Banshee have the same wheels. A fan with a lot of Questions...
